Point is, they're far distant relatives though. Kurtulmak isn't given the Dragon domain in any source I've seen. He is given Scalykind though. He's a God of Kobolds, not Dragons, after all.

Being a Helmite fanatic, I have to say that I am satisfied with the new settings for Helm deity.
Maybe, just maybe, I'd change nobility for courage. Given that Helmites are mostly chivalrious types and often seen in battle. Nobility sure strikes their ranks too, but not as often as courage.
But then again - it's just a thought and my opinion on Helm's dogma and His ways. And opinions may, and do, differ.

@Gunz Not arguing that some Dragon should pray to Kurtulmak or that and I agree that Dragon is not one of his supported domains. I'm not looking for Dragon itself to get tossed on his list as that is just as silly as a reptilian domain IMHO.
As Kobolds are not reptiles according to the lore, I was curious what else there might be that could work that makes more sense than writing a Kobold off as a reptile. When looking at the racial subtype, is frankly a bit insulting to the concept of the race entirely.

I'm not saying that you are, just trying to support why Scalykind was chosen and why I think it fits. And since you brought up dragons, I thought I'd argue against a Dragon domain while I was at it.
His domains in FR are: Earth, Evil, Hatred, Law, Scalykind, War.
That's straight from Faiths and Pantheons. If anything should be change, imo, it should be two of the following three: Craft, Luck and Trickery. And have them changed for Earth and War. But I understand why those three domains were added, since Kobos only have one supported God on Amia and it's nice to have the variety from the domains the DM team gave him. And it's not as if they don't fit, considering he's the head Kobo God, and by extension is vaguely a God that supports all things they partake in. But yeah, if we're going to try to be as lore correct as possible, I'd change two of those three (Craft, Luck and Trickery) for Earth and War. Especially War though. I think War is a very important domain to him.

I don't see a dragon domain fitting a kobold deity. Kurtulmak has nothing to do with dragons, ultimately.

@-Cloak-and-Dagger-: Quoth Races of the Dragon (which is most recent): Quote: Humanoid (dragonblood, reptilian): Kobolds are humanoids with the dragonblood and reptilian subtypes. For all effects related to race, a kobold is considered a dragon. ... Kobolds have close biological ties to dragons. The most important difference between the two, however, is that kobolds are cold-blooded creatures, and dragons are warm- blooded. While kobolds do generate some internal body heat from taking in food and engaging in activity, they are dependent on their environment for warmth. This is one reason why they live underground, especially in their native temperate climate. They are -not- purely reptiles is the point. Furthermore, culturally speaking, they draw far more from the Draconic end than the Reptilian. @Sune: As religions of Faerun tend to reflect culture or vice versa, I am simply at a loss that for Kobolds it looks like it is falling to the minority of the biological influence. *shrug* Not saying that Dragon would fit either though. But if you guys are going by Faiths and Pantheons I suppose it makes sense to some degree.

.....Does that apply to Amia, though? I don't know how good that sourcebook is. I've read the sister book "Races of Stone", and...I didn't like it. Purile revisionist tripe that I gladly ignore for better, older, info. Gelf Darkheath. Who the fuck is that?! You don't want to know. Anyways. Good info? Has that racial type change been ruled in here? Subrace page still has "racial type changes to reptillian"?
The other question would be how much the dragon idealogy is related to worship of Kurtulmak, how intertwined the two beliefs are in rat kobold culture.
And....after checking him over, i'm suprised he doesn't have Hatred domain? He ain't too fond of the superior gnomish peoples, I gather. And their boss. What, with the symbol, and all.

Can't speak for the DMs, but, it appears to. My reason for thinking this is that if it didn't, I wouldn't have a Dragonwrought Kobold with Dragon Wings as all my source material for it was taken from Races of the Dragon and the Wings feat lists the dragonblood subtype as a pre-req.
As for ideology (which I assume you mean to be cultural influence in the day to day): ~All of Kobold (usually closely intertwined with Kurtulmak's) origin stories point at Tiamat (or a Green known as Caesinsjach, or Io. This gives a basis as to why many Kobolds will pray to much of the Draconic pantheon in addition to Kurtulmak.
~In tribal settings, at the start of every day, the entire tribe of Kobolds partake in what is known as 'Searching for the Dragon' which consists of 15 minutes of community meditation where the Kobolds direct their thoughts inwards and try to align themselves with their draconic heritage before they put to work.
Anyways though, if the list is mostly set to Faiths and Pantheons I can't really complain. Just makes for some interesting philosophical/religious discussions Kobold side I suppose.

He seems like one of those guys who could really do with 10 domains, rather than 6.
That depth is all new to me. I sat on the other side of the fence a while ago (Gnome Ranger. Guess the 1st favoured enemy I took!) but I was more interested in physiology than psychology. ie, where to stab.

Races of the Dragon is core, F&P is FR specific. Anything in core that contradicts FR specific stuff is ignored. At least that's usually the standard I find kept here on Amia.
You got Dragonwrought because it doesn't contradict anything FR specific, I imagine. It wouldn't make the whole book it came from lore for Amia though. That's for a DM to call though.

Amia Website/DM Information | FR 3.5 | Core 3.5 | Wizards Website/Dragon Magazine 3.5 | FR 3.0 | Core 3.0 | Wizards Website/Dragon Magazine 3.0 | Supplement 3.5 or 3.0 | 4.0/2.0 or Lower.
(List goes from top to bottom in first contact)
Usually the way it goes, unless the website or DM's state specfic information contradicting those sources. In the case of everything below the top one, Website/DM Information comes first. In the case of a DM contradicting the Website or another DM, thats when you ask for clarification, point out the conflict, and then the DM team probably discusses it. (With striptease dancing contests. Disco usually wins.)

A Small question about Hoar, why the Good domain? if Hoar is considered according to the Lore posted somehow related to Bane and some sort of neutral oriented to Evil Deity/Demigod... mmm wouldn't be better to keep the War domain instead of good as it was before? after all according to the wiki : "the Doombringer (hoar) has been consumed with plotting the downfall of Anhur, the Mulhorandi deity of war, and to a lesser extent, the pantheon that spawned him. " Then About travel domain according to the Lore posted; there is a fly option? mmm that's gonna be implemented in the server too? i mean all the clerics with travel domain will be able to fly now? (providing they complete the proper rp for it off course) will they be some sort of flying or levitating clerics without wings? ahh and another question Pls, what happened with Asmodeus domains? Are they not going to be implemented? Here is the link about hoar and the others i checked just in case: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Hoarhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/spellLists/clericDomains.htmhttp://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/AsmodeusCheers Wulf.

Big thing about Hoar: FRwiki wrote: Hoar is actually the ancient Untheric deity worshiped in the eastern Inner Sea lands as Assuran. Centuries past he was driven from Unther by Ramman, although his cult remained strong in Chessenta. He eventually slew his rival during the Time of Troubles, but Anhur stole Ramman's unclaimed portfolio before Hoar could act, earning Hoar's ire. Both Tyr and Bane contested for Hoar's tormented soul, as the Dark God sought to turn him into a servant of blind vengeance and bitterness while the Maimed God sought to unlock Hoar's bittersweet humor and shift his portfolio to favor irony and poetic justice. The part following that blurb takes place in 4e. The wiki unfortunately muddles that dirty 4e with the pristine 3.5e stuff, and the people that updated the pages didn't specify when the 4e lore begins :/ Good and Evil are part of his domains because: PaladinOfSune wrote: The law/chaos and good/evil domains being added to each and every god is something present in D&D, so I didn't want to deviate from that. The only exception here, in fact, is Hoar, because it was thought it'd be neat to represent it's wildly differing faith through giving it both Good and Evil domains. I really don't want to drop that theme, as I think each god should have their alignment represented as domains.

He has not on Amia.... He killed Ramman but did not get his portfolio because of Anhur. He currently hates Anhur. Bane appeals for his lust of vengance and Tyr for his bitter sweet irony and sense of poetic justice.

heres another question... like pnp spells could we use pnp abilities *of domains* if we ask permission of all involved? Im looking at you community domain! I expect this to be a fast and very loud NO! but I will ask and hope... Community Level 2: Status Monitors condition, position of allies. Quote: Status
Divination
Level: Clr 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Targets: One living creature touched per three levels
Duration: 1 hour/level
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
When you need to keep track of comrades who may get separated, status allows you to mentally monitor their relative positions and general condition. You are aware of direction and distance to the creatures and any conditions affecting them: unharmed, wounded, disabled, staggered, unconscious, dying, nauseated, panicked, stunned, poisoned, diseased, confused, or the like. Once the spell has been cast upon the subjects, the distance between them and the caster does not affect the spell as long as they are on the same plane of existence. If a subject leaves the plane, or if it dies, the spell ceases to function for it.

It seems to me quite a few PnP spells are excruciatingly meta-gameable (how's THAT for a phrase?). This one encourages players to bombard the caster w/tells about their condition, allowing the caster to use 'instant communication' to stem the tide of battle. I was involved in a similar situation with the spell 'Sending', I believe it was.
In MY mind, one always has to be aware that players are like devils negotiating for an 'innocent' soul: if there IS a loophole, we'll find it.
That being said, it's my understanding that if EVERYONE involved agrees to it's use...game on. For better or worse...

ahaa so Hoar is a naughty one after all, who sometimes goes good but mostly goes evil mmm ''dark smile'' ok and what about the flying levitating cleric spell from the travel domain? that would be kind of weird to b honest but ... i guess it could lead to some sort of fun rp ''pictures a levitating cleric who is in a deep meditation or a stinky dwarf who's farts are so strong that actually make him fly '' and... no news about poor Asmodeus?

Are the bioware domain special abilities being replaced, kept, or ditched? Like plant gets turn vermin, war gets battle mastery, etc etc.

Balance doesnt seem to fit the elemental lords. All 4 of them seek to destroy the other ones, and be the dominant element. However by all 4 of them being in constant battle it creates balance, but each diety themselves do not want balance

I'm impressed: Baghtru, Gruumsh and Ilneval are actually different from each other. I'll be honest when I say I never saw that coming.

I find it weird that Deities like Savras and Lathander doesn't have Time in their portfolios.
AND THAT WE DO NOT HAVE AMAUNATOR!

Isn't Amauntor just another name for Lathander? Or a dead deity that Lathander took over for?

In Amia's time, Amaunator is considered a dead deity.
The Risen Sun Heresy sect of the Church of Lathander believe Lathander is Amaunator reborn.
In 4E, years into the future, they are proven right. Irrelevant to us unless the DMs run with that plot to whatever end. They could make him a different deity if they want, they could let him rot, could bring him back as Lathander, bring him back as someone else...but for now, irrelevant. He is dead.

There is a well known cleric on Amia that believes in the Risen Sun.

I do not understand the difference between spell and magic domain. Why do some gods have both of those domains when they give basically the same spells?

They have Mage Armour and Lesser Spell Mantle in common, that's it.
Just because a deity has both those domains, doesn't mean their clerics are necessarily going to have to choose those together.
There is a limited selection of spells in NWN, as well, so some domains are bound to have spells in common.

Well it's in the name really, from what I can gather.
All Spells are Magic, but not all Magic comes in the form of a Spell, if that makes any sense. Deities that have the Spell Domain probably focus more on the actual creation, history, and perfecting of Spellcraft(usually Arcane), while ones with Magic domain have a broader scope of magic in general, whether in the form of spells, leylines, wards, innate magical qualities, magic on other planes, etc. Granted, for most deities we associate with magic in general it seems redundant(Azuth, Mystra, and Sarvas all have both of course), but there are plenty of other deities that just have Magic domain and not Spell. That pretty much is there to show while they are interested in some sort of magical endeavor, it's not really their cup of tea to go around and encourage the perfecting of spells, specifically.
Laduguer likely wants his followers interested in magic so they can overcome the horrors of the Underdark and as well to edify their magical crafts. Selune probably wants her worshipers to seek out magic as it is arguably the most powerful tool of change that exists in the realms. Velsharoon more or less wants his followers to gain knowledge and magic is probably some of the most worthwhile knowledge there can be. However, none of these deities likely care for magic to the point where they feel the art of spellcraft is a foremost part of their doctrine. That, or they probably can't get their hands on a portfolio like that without bumping into some of the other gods of their pantheon.

And come to think of it, Should't Shevarash have Cavern as his domain considered many of his Shrines are actually IN The underdark, Inside caverns and underneath the ground? That, or darkness - I have no idea where Strenght came from.
And Talos? Should't he have Fire in his Portfolio?
