In PVP, if a character is turned to stone and then killed - does it require a special raise, or can this be done with a simple scroll?

In PnP, you'd need resurrection - I believe - but don't quote me on that. Here? *Shrug*

Depends on how the person is killed, I'd say. I mean once you're petrified, all damage inflicted is pretty much chipping away at you and/or breaking off limbs and stuff. I suppose if someone wants to "decapitate" you while you're petrified or break you in half, then that would require Resurrection, as the body is no longer in one relative piece. And God yes, I think it would require a Resurrection if you were pretty much smashed to bits.

But now the question I'm left with is do you still remain Petrified after you are killed, ICly. I know mechanically, for PC IIRC, you turn back normal again. If you go by WYSIWYG, then you do. But I don't think PnP ever specifies, and in my opinion, you'd still remain stone after you've been killed. You're just dead-and-petrified, no different than being dead-and-frozen or dead-and-on-fire.

As far as Amia goes you obviously die when broken up, but if you want a more PNP related interpretation to go by in an RP you can refer to the condition description:

I think if your going to do anything to someone that requires a special form of raising to return to life, you need the player permission.

As such, it's more a WYSIWYG thing. So raise dead will raise them. Comes down to engine restriction.

I hope no one casts stone to flesh on the wall at any point.

So I put these questions to Erroch and after his brief chuckle he said I should post these:

1) If you petrify a kobold and a human...remove both heads and switch them...cast mending on the statues...then stone to flesh...what happens?

2) If you petrify a giant (or something similarly large enough to provide enough stone), can you use the body to create a Stone Golem?

In case #2, after binding the elemental to the Stone form, what happens when you hit flesh to stone, is the elemental still bound. Does random planar party time ensue?

It is times like this I regret Dominik's lawful good alignment, or I'd find out.

1: Death of both, I assume.

2: No, probably not.

PnP usually makes a distinction between magical and non-magical stone I think. Petrifying someone makes them into some sort of psuedo-stone I imagine, not the same as if you had actually transmuted/wished them to like granite or something. So when you try to cast mending on them, it doesn't specify, but I'd imagine it falls into that non-natural material, no-go area.

Though that would be cool though if it did. Transmute someone to granite then cast Transmute Stone to Mud. Never see their ass again, I bet. >_>
