Duel wielded with hand axes with epic dodge and (Maybe Epic Fort, Great Fort, Luck of Heroes to be 'alright' at perhaps resisting the horror that is dev crit)
I'll write up the level progression and such, just want to get your building imput on the idea.

I've done Rogue17/WM7/Ftr6 as a Chultan with Frank Adegunle Ojukwu, and he's bloody hard to Devcrit even though I inexplicably took Epic Discipline over Epic Fort. Moshing's got the same thing in base human with Sergei, but the lack of subrace abuse there meant he to get one more Great DEX, so no Epic Fortsauce there either.
It's a very well rounded build; Epic Dodge and a shade over 60 AC with Haste'n'Mage Armour, and the non-Sneak damage is actually not too shabby if you can keep your STR maxed out: 25-30 critting into the 120's, and of course when you are racking Sneaks you get another ~30/hit. You have skillpoints enough to be a decent cornersneak and have non-epic Spot or Listen.
Go Rogue16 minimum, though. You want Crippling Strike.

So I manually subtracted the points to compensate for the loss of the human bonus.

"for what class"
weapons master, I have seen an oocly evil and good one in some of the auctions and sales from the past in the threads, also weapons master AND weapon focus, but no neutral......maybe i'm not looking hard enough.
no spell penetration huh, i'll have to get a helm or something thats got that then.
I have figured out just how close i'm cutting it for lv9 spells, I think I get 1 (level 17 wizard, 6 fighter, 7 weapons master) is it possible to get the epic feats with this set up? I'm guessing no...I'd use the character creator but I don't want to powergame the stats unless I need them for pre-requisites.

Need input for my rebuild. Rikkudai, Chaplain of the Ecclesia of the Blessed Assuran.
What they all have is... Domains = Death (permission) /War (domain) blindfight, powerattack, wf, silent spell, divine might, divine shield, max spell, improved crit, extra turning, epic fort, epic disc, armor skin, greater ruin,
Whats different in each build is... (all skills and saves are after feats, before buffing)
Cleric 24/Fighter 4/ Rogue 2 Option A: Weapon Spec. Epic Weapon Spec, Evasion, +1 CL over Option C. Skills -33 con, 40 disc, spellcraft 33, spot 31, tumble 30, umd 11 (ln character with +9 cha), 25 more points to spend (the above stats are maxed depending where levels fall on, would be new skill Saves: 22,21,11 (fort after buffing and my cloak = 33)
Cleric 24/Fighter 4/ Rogue 2 Option B: Epic Spot, Epic Prowess, Evasion, +1 CL over option C. Skills- 33 con, 43 disc, spellcraft 32, spot 41, tumble 30, umd 11 (see above), About 19 more points. Saves-22, 21,11 (fort after buffing and cloak = 33)
Cleric 23/CoT 6/ Rogue 1 Option C: Epic Spot, Epic Prowess, Uses Morning Star (or warhammer, his old weapon but -2 ab or no imp crit. Or lose extra turning), +3 div wrath, uniqueness. Skills-31 con, 43 disc, spellcraft 30, spot 43, tumble 30, umd 11 ( see above), 2 more points. Saves- 26,24,15 (fort after buffing and cloak = 37) NOTE: This option can use monk instead of rogue to gain cleave and evasion and lose umd.
Futhermore, depending I could drop extra turning for great fortitude for +2 fort. Any other ideas?

Alright, so I'm really piss poor with melee builds. I typically go with ranged, spellcasting, or the occasional dex-based, so I wanted to try out a solid fighter build. I've got a character and his concepts in mind, but I'm curious on the efficiency of a Fighter/ COT/ Rogue. Any fun combinations you folks can think of?
Any help is appreciated!

I'd drop the idea of using extra turning at all Pidge. Its not really required at max level and the Clerics AC means you wont need it for tanking Abyss either.

Thanks! Also, I was wondering if trap DC's are different on Amia.. I've never used traps before, and want to make a rogue that can possibly set epic traps.. Is it a type of skill you just max out or is it like tumble and only a certain amount matters?

Just a curiosity that I wasn't sure where else to post - tactically, are any of the other wizard's familiars worth anything? I've been using the imp for some tanking on my lowbie wizard and I know the panther CAN be cool if you can be arsed to possess it (its AI wants to tank and get killed rather than flank and get sneaks in).. what of the others?

I'm at level 9 now with him. Switching between panther and imp - though the panther's ai keeps getting it killed. Was just looking at the other familiars. I want to experiment some, i'd just hate to get stuck with something useless for a level.

Back again >_< . So basically I am making a making a rogue / bard / aa. I am unsure about my feats and skill points. I want him to be good with traps, but not sure which skills really need to be maxed... search, set trap, disable trap, open lock? What are good numbers to stop at for these. I won't have enough to max everything considering hide, ms, tumble, umd, disc, etc...
As for feats, I am thinking: Point blank shot, WF: Longbow, Rapid Shot, Imp Crit: LB, Called Shot, Great Fortitude, Expertise(?)
Unsure about the expertise..
Epic: EWF: LB, Epic Fort, Great Dex, Epic Dodge, Crip strike
Thanks for any suggestions or comments.

If going for epic dodge and AA, best to drop the bard. A bard without 20 levels is a nuissance.
You'll want 13 levels of rogue minimum, for epic dodge, 13 rogue, 13 aa, 4 fighter?
If you're willing to drop epic dodge to be awesome bard 21, rogue 2, aa 7

I was going to do 17 rogue / 2 bard / 11 AA, I imagine him more as a stealthy archer who, although isn't exactly charming, is fond of telling stories of his wanderlust-driven adventures.. rather than a fighter type.
I remember reading that rogue bard aa works well in that set up..
Also.. don't you have to have a caster class to be AA? Therefore rogue aa fighter wouldnt work?

You do, yes.
sorc/bard/wiz + elf/haf elf.
13 rog/13aa/4 ftr is not possible yea.
edit: And 19rog/2brd/9AA might be better. you get an extra feat whilst still able to pierce through premonitions.

Any help is appreciated! I guess by 'solid fighter' you mean STR-based? I've been toying with Barb18/CoT10/Rogue2, but I don't know if I've time to level it. I imagine it's pretty humdrum for mobwork, but it's got saves out the bahookie and in two rounds it'll drop decent damage and Devcrit attempts at 56AB.

No subrace Human barbarian. I understand the most fun and easy going is barb 24/Fighter4/Rogue 2, with Barb all the way up to 20, with HA taken at level 1, yes? Question i am wondering is if making him a greatsword user wil cripple him severely, or if a such char can survive without a shield? Otherwise i assume shield + warhammer is the better option?

The day I accept anyone with a scythe as something more than a farmboy is the day the Pope will publicly announce that he has always been fond of homosexual satanists.
Greatsword is more stylish though, I think. The idea is the oh so original concept of a Rasheman Barbarian on his dejema. And no, he will not have a mini-giant-space-hamster companion. Nor will he have 9 int. Or tattooes in his face. Or be bald. And his name will certainly not be Minsc.
Just how much worse off will he be with a greatsword instead of shield + hammer?

Or, rethinking the concept; is it possible to make a dex based barb that is not useless? I'm thinking wood elf with handaxes could be quite fun, but very much worried about the damage output.

is it possible to craft +6 weapons? with DC's or something, or for people RP wise in game with DC's, or divine mythals, or something? *adamantine bastard sword with sonic visual and +6 :O~ * on a similar note I always see people with short weapons save a few. all these dual visual mythal'd daggers and such. I can't find where I mentioned this before but, yes you can make metal whips and a baseball bat >:D wish I had enough job points for all the smithy like jobs. but thats where contacts come to play also greatsword 2 handed 2d6, bastard sword 1 handed (X D) 1d10. meaning greatsword base max 12, dual weilding B's 20 =) I have no idea how much damage i'm doing now, has superior weapon focus, how do you do more attacks in one round? I seen people going balistic on things (not talking about monks I know you get flurry.)

Bastard sword is a larger type of weapon. You lose ab with dual wielding, a lot. You get more attacks per round with ambidextry, two-weapon fighting, and improved two-weapon fighting.
Without monk levels, you can get 4 main hand and 2 off hand attacks. Thats it, until you include haste.

Another character I'd like to try building is a Monk.
Any takers?

hey guys!
i've got an idea for a nice monk build, but i could use your input to see if it's: A) possible B) effective
so here it is: Name: Hunta Chultan subrace 20 monk/5 fighter/5 SD DEX based with weapon finesse and unarmed. I think i'm going 16 monk 4 fighter pre-epic for the full attacks (8 per round at the end), then 1 fighter epic for EWS (if it's possible), 5 SD for Epic Dodge (if it's possible) and the rest of the monk. I know the subrace will give me EXP problems so i'm going monk all the way till 16 before i start multiclassing. I think this might be a good build, so i'm willing to suffer the EXP penalty, but i could use some input as to whether this build will be worth something in the end. Thanks for the input!

This was brought up earlier, and Monk 20 / Rogue 10 was suggested instead if you aren't going SD 6 for HiPS. Uberuce wrote: If you're not taking HiPS I would go for the Rogue. UMD and Sneak damage are worth more than EWS, says I. You already get pre-epic Weapon Spec on unarmed Monks via that beastly awesome belt, so it's +4 damage rather than +6 that EWS gives. If i go rogue, i won't have 8 apr, only 7. And i'm not sure what belt he is mentioning. And is UMD really that critical?

UMD is really nice to have for anyone. As a monk, among other things it lets you use scrolls of Owl's Insight. If you weren't going unarmed (in which case the above advice might not apply -- I don't know), it would also let you use flame weapon scrolls.

well, thanks for giving me that reference. I found the section in the forums with all that info on the build. I am going unarmed, btw, so what else would i be able to benefit from with UMD? and is going rogue 10 really worth losing an attack per round and EWS? i kinda like the idea of maxed attacks and as much damage as possible, while bagging epic dodge as well. And that belt really does do some good boosting. do you happen to know if it's a loot item or if it's sold somewhere? (no need to tell me where if it is a sold item, i'll look for it IC)

I'm pretty sure that item he speaks of is an epic item. Where you find that, I cannot say.
As for other benefits of UMD. You have scrolls, wands, anything magical that you may not otherwise be able to use as well as the ability to unlock effective restrictions due to your class or race. However - the latter note I may be wrong on. That was the case with my previous server.

7 Bard/ 4 Fighter/ 19 AA.
Is this a good build for an AA? You get Enchant arrows X, Weapon Specialization and Epic Weapon Specialization by taking 4th level of Fighter in epic. Only really loose out on tumble, so you'll get +3 AC instead of +6 since there will be no bard levels post epic. Alternatively could switch out bard for Wiz to make use of the imbue arrows ability in Amia and swap fighter for Rogue and make use of Sneak Attacks, doesn't seem worth it tho.
Any thoughts?

There is very good gear for monks in high-end shops. thank you, i really appreciate your feedback on everything. just one more thing, and i know this is going to be more of a personal taste choice in the end, but i could use some other opinions: i'm definitely going epic dodge monk with my build, but i really don't need HiPS, cause he's not really a stealthy character, just a fighting dodging killing machine so the question is do i go with 20 monk/5 fighter/5 SD or 20 monk/ 10 rogue? I can see how the belt offers some kind of substitute for WS, and the sneak attack is a good addition, but on the other hand, i'm also finishing the build with one attack less, and less feats too (fighter bags me 2 more feats other than WS, while rogue doesn't get anything i won't be able to get with SD except for the sneak attack). edit: i forgot the UMD too. I don't know how critical that is to the build either, could use some input on that as well.

Except for the Sneak Attack? EXCEPT FOR THE SNEAK ATTACK?!
I'd go 20 monk/10 rogue. Or with your other proposed build, 20 Monk/4Fighter/6Rogue. Get rid of SD altogether.

UMD. Scrolls of GS will save your life. And waste someone elses.
