I made a Shadovar char, Undead Bounty Hunter, who has Undeath and Repose as there domains, I wanted to make them Lawful good and wanted to know what Gods I can take for those domains. I looked on forums but didnt see any post showing what gods favor which Domain. Was thinking I may have to Take Lawful Evil but RP them as Lawful Good for there alignment if that is aloud. He's only lvl 5 so Im just going to remake him if thats cool. Also wanted to know what God or goddess do the Shadovar follow. Any help or insight would be most thankful.

No Deity has those two domains - They are essentially opposite to each other.

http://www.amiaworld.net/about/deities.php - Scroll down. It's "Deity System" on the side, there.

You can't remake a character without DM supervision.

The main deity of the Shadovar is Shar.

If your character sheet says "Lawful Good" you're lawful good. You've also been told once before that you don't remake characters without direct DM supervision. If you're going to play Shadovar I'd suggest reading up on exactly what you're getting into. I find it highly unlikely to find a shadovar that despises undead, but thats just me.

Both of these. Also, Shadovar are typically Chaotic Evil from what I have read, so... yeah. You would have a hard time explaining how someone from the old Netherese city of Thultanthar has essentially completely switched the dogmas they would have been rooted in their whole early life.

Just saying.

I agree with most of the above but for the record, CE is definitely a poor fit. Shadovar are pragmatic, imperialistic and generally unpleasant (in that they have a Darwinistic society with no qualms about slavery, oppressing non-Shadovar, raising undead and publically worshipping a god of Nihilism), having roots in a kinda amoral society and essentially living under the thumb of a single, charismatic NE dictator. So they're more NE, and definitely leaning towards the Lawful end of the spectrum. LN would be a good fit as well, which I believe is something like Kelemvorite's alignment incidentally (though personally I would go Jergal, he's allied to Kelly and he was a Netherese deity anyway).

Any Shadovar PCs are ones who have left the city for one reason another - either they have a mission, they have enough pull to be allowed to leave, or they fled/became outcast. So being an exceptional Shadovar is a *given*, moreso than being a Player Character in a D&D setting. That said, as said above... you should have a good reason, as the Shadovar are very lore-intensive. Lore is actually a bit scarce but there are a couple of good sources, such as "Lords of Darkness 3.0" (2001) for general info and I think Champions of Ruin has something... check the Lore thread here as well. There are also books but their lore-appropriateness is a bit murkier. I mean, there are details about Shadovar even I'm not very clear about.

I play one of the few Shadovar myself. Oddly enough she does dislike (reanimated) undead, but it's kind of ironic and there are definitely some well-developed reasons which I can't get into here.

Anyone with questions about Shadovar are more than welcome to send me a PM or catch me on MSN, as I'm currently taking care of all things Shadovar and Shade Enclave DMside.

How I wish the race was approval only. The Shadovar and Thultanthar information on the wiki is...sort of correct. There's several inconsistencies. Your best bet is Lords of Darkness and Races of Faerun, and the Return of the Archwizards trilogy for history the character would know. (The Player's Guide to Faerun has an excellent summary of it). To clarify here, most lower-ranking Shadovar are Lawful Evil, and then shift towards NE as they go up in rank. The privileges of rank in a corrupt society is not having to live by your own rules. It's very unlikely for any higher-ranking Shadovar to end up on Amia however, as anyone above a certain rank (Captain in the military) is turned into a creature known as a Shade. Shades are on Amia's "never approve" list. With that said your best bet is LE and contacting Glim for help, because Shadovar are -not- allowed to leave their City without permission. This pretty much means you need to get in contact with a DM if you want to stay true to lore, unless you're playing an illegal fugitive. In that case...well...good luck ;)

At this point I think they really should be made request-only. Not in a "you have to be this tall to join our cool club" way but simply to spare people the headache of walking into something they don't understand. Shadovar are an incredibly tiny minority relative to the rest of Faerun and every single one that appears on Amia seems like a special enough case on the level of aquatic elves and other platinum coin thingies, to warrant being request-only.

I'm happy to deal either way, and I can rationalise any Shadovar I see who seems kind of lore-breaky to preserve my own sense of immersion but it would be better to prevent situations where people rock up only to be told far too late that their character concept is super wrong and they wasted their time. It's all well and good to say you should do your research beforehand, but it's not readily-apparent that research is so vitally important to playing a Shadovar compared to your average human or elf or dwarf.

I'll be writing up a "what you need to know about creating a Shadovar" for the subrace sidebar.
