A friend of mine and my girl have both expressed some interest in trying out both nwn and roleplay and I figured why not! It could be a lot of fun. Would it be ok if I had them trying it out under my cd key?

If they like it I imagine they'll be getting their own copies and such. Just a trial run to see if they have a taste for it and stuff =D

Only one copy of a cd key can be in use at one time.

Ive heard this question and the answer before was so long as you are aware that in these cases if they fuck up or break a rule its also on you. Your account your punishment, it's all on you. As the "It was my friend" is the singularly most common excuse anyone gives for being out of line.

I would just go halfsies on the cost of the game and get them their own copy. Can you both spare 5 bucks? It's 10 bucks for the game on GOG.com. That's not a great amount to "Trial" a game and see if you like it.

AFAIK hypothetically speaking you dont even need a legit copy of the game anymore if you can cram your NWN folder into a thumb drive just copy it to their PC and change out the CD Key on the .ini file in your folder before the copy.

No master server means no validation is required, they can put their own key in then just have a DM authorize it's use. Not that I would ever suggest such a thing as it's patently illegal technically.

I was wondering about why that was wonky. Thanks for clarifying! :o

That worked even when the master server did tbh.

Heh. We already have to shell out for her own computer, we've been looking at a few laptops but they're still pretty damn expensive.
