If you take ten levels of Red dragon disciple/blue/green/whateva!

Does it make you a half dragon because of all the propertys you gain from the RDD Prestige class
(Draconic armor/scales/claws/immunitys/ and other goodies)? So therefore do you have to make a request to take a tenth level of RDD?

No, taking 10 levels of RDD does not take a request.

What taking the 10th level of RDD shows is that your disciple character has reached the same level stat-wise as a half dragon, but they are -not- half.

So basically, you get all the perks, but you're still not half. No request required.

(Unless you're wanting your character to always have been a half dragon while taking the RDD class, then you better request it.)

Yeah. Basically your blood has been 'enhanced' to that of the level of a half dragon. You are by no means a true born half dragon. So your stat wise, and blood wise a half dragon. Small details people tend to overlook.

Taking ten levels of RDD does not turn back time and make it so that a dragon of XYZ color time travelled and fucked your mother.

I'm more than a little concerned about the number of players who are half-dragons.

I wouldn't be. It isn't that big of an issue. Its the trend right now... it happens. Give it a few months and drow or tieflings will be back in the loop.

Difference between RDD and Half dragons is this:

RDDs take RDD lvls representing their study into their draconic bloodline and their willingness to further strengthen that bloodline. It also means that sometimes an RDD can only go partially into their bloodline and not gain wings and breath weapon

A Half dragon is born a half dragon whether they like it or not. They will have wings and/or breath weapon without the need for willingness.

On a more technical lvl: RDD's need to take RDD lvls, but a Half dragon does not need to spend these lvls on RDD and can be any class.

I could be wrong, but I think that half dragons were forced to take 10 RDD levels. At least they used to.

So basically RDDs are like those awkward wanna-be vampire kids that gather around after school to drink tomato juice and talk about how to look more emo? Except that they're just drooling over dragons.

Used to. It's been dropped since, but I think still wins you points.

What Axl said. My halfer has no RDD levels. It's not forced anymore. Just means I'll have to pay for everything that a RDD gets for free.

(I'd also like to point out that, at least with the half dragons I've run into, just because you have 10 levels of RDD doesn't mean the half dragons+ will accept you (including mine). ;) )

I like how the joke was missed. I'd love to meet a half-dragon player.

Yup, no need for 10RDD anymore (which is why my half dragon was going to be pure sorc and not 20sorc/10RDD, but methinks it will be denied once more due to too many halfies, why the DMs never said in mkI of the request, I'll never know :(

Thanks for the responses guys, the reason why I posted was I didn't want to be a half dragon, but I wanted the ten lvl RDD for the RP, and those awesome wings >.<. Again thanks.
