Hello or rathr good evening.

I was planning on joining Amia, but unfortunately I seem to be unable to join any Neverwinter Nights game. The error message tell me that "the server isn't responding (timed out)". I usually have no problems paying online with other games, except with some batlefields games, which apprently required a cetain port to be open, while minewas close.

So I was wondering if you could help me out and/or if you had any idea on what the problem might be (because i'm not sure it is a port problem)

('m using the diamond edition from GOG.com)

Thanks in advance.

when you say -any- how far from the main menu do you get? can you connect to the master server and see the list of servers, or not even that far?

that semi tells me its probably not your connection, however it could be your connection speed. i'm not phychic either...but recently at 'peak hours' where I live my net speed slowed down so much youtube was a joke and even the forums loaded slowly. since then increased my net speed.

either that, some problem with the game itself, or....*waits for others who know more than I*

ed: google for speedtest, if your upload speed is below about 0.5 that may well be the answer. (maybe 0.2 infact mine is currently at 0.5 ... it was previously lower, much lower, and it was causing issues.)

well dang, that rules out the connection speed imo.

...firewall settings? i'm sorry but other than that i'm out of ideas

(assuming your on windows go "control panel > security center > in the new window 'windows firewall' on the left, change settings, go to the exeptions tab, and make 'neverwinter nights' ticked if it is not already.)

Yeah, I'd check the firewall.

Do you have to be logged into this GOG.com to play?
