This scroll is a fairly accurate version of a tale told by Lyria Faine the bardess. When asked, she would say that it is based on real events, but for the sake of the audience she has made a few embellishments. She declines to identify the dark knight in the story.

Was a dark night that the bard strode
On a fateful road
She came upon a necromancer, and her vile undead servant
The necromancer called on a knight to smote it if she dared
The fearless knight glared, and said that she would
But paused, calling on the dead-conjurer to dismiss the beast

Again the necromancer goaded the knight to do her duty, if she dared
But fled when the knight smote the thing in two
A most palpable strike
The bard gazed on the knight, who shrugged and told her
Be careful dear lady, and then was on her way

Once more the bard strode
Along the fateful road
The winds snatched at her cloak
And the rains battered down from the skies
Now she came upon a dark knight, a blackguard some might say
He seemed to be straight from the Abyss
And two of his victims lay on the ground
Bleeding from their vicious wounds
Intent on his work, he grabbed a poor woman
And smashed his knee into her face

Then as his crimson eyes glowed
The bard said what goes on on here, is this for real?
And the dark knight said yes
Then his eyes fixed on the bard's lute
He snatched it out of her hands
He smashed it into the leg of the woman on the ground
The woman howled in pain
And the bard said hey, that's no way to treat a musical instrument!

The dark knight gave her a razing glance
And said hey, I just like men
Now let me be on my way

So the bard helped the woman along the fateful road
For she could not walk on her own
And off the dark knight strode
He took the men with him
And nobody has seen them since
