Zhaunin responsibilities:
----------------------------------

.Zhaunin are required to bow before all Drow that hold higher ranks, and are required to refer to them by title.

.Zhaunin must obey orders by any members who is above them in rank.

.Zhaunin are expected to participate in battle squads and groups as healers and long range attackers.

.The apprentice should work with his mentor to learn more about the arts of spellcraft and its supporting skills to better serve the house.

.A apprentice is sometimes called to aid his mentor in magical rituals.

.A Zhaunin will spend a brief amount of time under the Melee-Magthere, the Academy of Warriors, so to learn the combat strategies of the Drow, and how to better lead a offensive raid.

.The Zhaunin, upon reaching the M'elzar rank, is no longer officially in the apprenticeship of the M'elzar. However, the two will often continue this relationship to the gain of both parties.

The Zhaunin is a mage in training, the lowest rank in the Sorcere vocation. Females who show apptitude in magic, are normally recruited into the Yath, so males are mostly mages. A Zhaunin must find a M'elzar as their master who is willing to teach the young mage, so that the two can work together as a team. They are eager students, whose cheif tasks are to perform rituals, do experiments, and otherwise continue his learning. They are capable of casting powerful magical spells, and with this power comes great respect. With this respect, however, comes suspicion from the Yath.

~To obtain the rank of M'elzar, the Zhaunin most display his understanding in the fundamental mechanism of standard manipulation of the weave, and perform flawless performance in casting a spell in each of the different spell schools, accompanied by a well founded theory and benefits of used spell schools. Before mentioned theory should be obtained through cooperation with the master, and the evaluation of the graduation can be supervised by the mentor, or any Fearn.

~Students seen self proclaiming themselves to have higher ranks without having succeeded the test, will be bestowed serious punishment. This goes for the use of staff equipment. Do naut request equipment from the merchant from a rank above you, should it be seen, that students are in possession of items denied by them due to rank, punishment will be the consequences. ~

M'elzar responsibilities:

.M'elzar must obey the orders of members with ranks above them.

.M'elzar are expected to participate in raiding parties and battle groups as healers and providers of magical support.

.The M'elzar continues to work with their mentor to
complete magical rituals and experiments to benefit the house.

.The M'elzar should take an active approach when working with the younger Zhaunin.

.The M'elzar, too become a Faern, must take a apprenticeship with a younger Zhaunin. The two must be active in their work to be acceptable for the promotion.

M'elzar are Zhaunin which have completed most of their training with their master. A M'elzar will soon have to prepare a apprentice of their own to perform experiments and reituals with. A M'elzar should be able to cast a great deal of powerful magical spells, and able to hold their own in combat. M'elzar should regularly work with their Faern or by themselves to perform experiments and do research.

~To obtain the rank of Fearn, the M'elzar are bestowed a test, containing both theoretical and practical aspects. The nature of the test are decided between the master and Ul'fearuk.

~When obtaining the rank of M'elzar, new equipment will be available for you by the merchant, remember to specify your rank, for should you be seen carrying items above your current rank, it will lead to serious consequences.~

Faern responsibilities:

.Faern are required to bow before all members who's rank is above them, and refer to their superiors by title.

.Faern are required to obey all orders given by a higher ranking member.

.Faern are expected to regularly participate in battle squads and raiding parties as healers and providers of magical support.

.Faern may be called upon by the Yath to aid in the performance of rituals.

.A Faern may call upon a Sut'rinos to gather a force for a raiding party, in which the Faern will lead with the Sut'rinos working alongside as a aid. The Faern, in this case, would take responsibility for a failed mission.

.Faern are expected to take a apprentice, which they aid in their training of the magical arts.

.Faern are regularly expected to do experiments and research to benefit the house.

Secretive and devious, Faern serve as the Houses heavy ranged damagers and combat healers. Faern are almost exclusively male. The long hours of a Faern's research pays dividends in the ability to cast the most powerful of magical spells. Faerns should work to weave roleplaying plots and goals for the Sorcere vocation as a whole, and work with other Faern to uphold the rule of the Ilharess. The Faerz'un'arr of the Yath are very wary of the Faern and their powers. This uneasiness often leads the Faern into trouble.

Written underneath the 'old' rules, are a few new ones, posted where all can see:

~Rules~

1)All tests for promotion are to be supervised by the Ul'faeruk or a Faern.

2)Selling of Sorcere goods to non-affiliated merchants constitutes an offense that will lead to demotion, or removal from the ranks of this academy.

3)All ranking members can have only one formal apprentice at a time, unless given special permission by the Ul'faeruk.

4)Testing a M'elzar for the position of Faern is done only by the Ul'faeruk. Under special circumstances, a Faern may test a M'elzar but only with the permission of the Ul'faeruk.

5)A Faern may induct those seeking to become students of the Sorcere as well as supervise a Zhaunin's test for promotion to the rank of M'elzar.

At this time, and as questions have arisen over who the former Ul'faeruk enlisted in defilling the Temple, the Sorcere is to be restructured.

Any who would have rank, position, and authority granted in the service of our city, Edonil, need only send a note to the Ul'faeruks office in the Melee Magethere.
