I just noticed that when my Druid uses Wildshape he ends up loosing some of his spells. I'm guessing this is because he looses his WIS boost from his equipment.
Is there any way around this? Cause not only does it seem rather unfair to loose spells that way, but it is also a pain to have to reset them.
Barring that, is there any way to make it so that the spells you cast are used up from right to left instead of left to right? That way at least it'll be easier to organize the spell setup so we don't have to loose any castings.

That's a pretty good idea for higher levels, a level 9 Druid would have some problems with that tho.

Wizards and Cleric have the same problem when using polymorph or shapeshifting.

At least druids -have- the option to go owl's insight on higher levels. Till there not much you can do about it.

Also... bonus spellslots on gear will always get lost when you polymorph or shapeshift... not matter what you do.

Well, never really used Polymorph for Clerics or Mages. But a Druid just lacks the melee prowess of a Cleric and damage output of a Mage to ignore Shapeshifting at lower levels.

Well we all needed to bite into that sour apple and reset our spells after shapeshifting (and still need to to some extend).

Also druids have their companion and also spells.

This isn't broken so it don't need to be fixed IMHO. Worked the last 6 years.

Druids are not supposed to be good in melee, use the companion and summon, indeed.

Yeah I guess, it just seems more an issue with the game engine then anything else, which is why I asked.

Err...druids can melee it up fairly well now they have GMW and FW added to their repertoire.

What i'd love is if the powers that be just bit the bullet and added an intelligence and charisma version of owl's insight. Exactly the same innate level yada yada. Problem solved.

You already have maximised INT/WIS/CHA. Manage your gear.

I believe it could be stemmed a little by allowing equipment to merge, then rebalancing the forms, like I suggested in Improvement thread.

You may still loose slots from spell slots on equipment, but keeping the bonus spells from INT/WIS/CHA mods wis a huge step up in terms of usability. Not every caster uses bonus slots on equipment and the ones that do would likely not mind giving up a few spells to be able to shift in a way that doesn't make you loose half your spells.

The current explanation of "the forms don't allow merging because it's a balancing point" is bupkis. Partially at least. It's a lazy way to balance them, rather than efficient, and it results in them being avoided like the plague. Just allow them to merge and balance the forms appropriately. Even if that means some more penalties on a form, as long as they make sense.

Nice idea actually, specially if it just affected the Wildshape, Elemental Shape, Polymorph and Shapechange forms, that way Shifters won't have to worry.
Course most of the Druid forms become absolute at later levels, but least the Dragon and Umberhulk forms are always useful for true sight, it would be nice to be able to shift into them without having to worry about spell loss.

Alternatively, wouldn't it also be possible to simply give the forms a 12 point boost to WIS/INT/CHA? Since the max amount you can get from enhancements is 12, and I don't think shapeshifting changes the mental stats, that would make it so you wouldn't loose any spells either. Plus you can't cast spells while shapeshifted.
