Out of curiosity. I know there are usable and none usable instruments in the HAK and in the game.
How are the plans progressing to make a shop for those things or a job class for it?

I hope they won't be included.
Holdable instruments are my merchant's pc unique goodies, even though it is hard to retrieve them.

They will be included eventually. No exclusivity for you, sorry.

I expected as much. And I never intended for an exclusive. I'll just try to keep the secret to them hidden as long as possible I actually think it'd be great if they were included and given some spell powers similar to the non-holdable instruments. It would make bards look more bardic.

I'm not joking. If he is exploiting a glitch and it ruins someone's inventory, it will be serious business.

Well as far as I know, I have the only LEGIT holdable lute on Xal, and you cannot cast spells on it or mythal it. So yea.
Trust me, I was very disappointed to find out I couldn't set my lute on fire...

Personally I'd settle for some holdable or placeable intruments with costum discription. I don't need to enchant them or anything.

Perhaps a new job can be added to the system instead of a store: instrument creator
I mean, who wouldn't want the prestige of saying to the fella next to them: "pssst, Buddy, you know that bard up there? He uses one of my [insert instrument name]. Sounds great, doesn't it?"
Could be sold in bulk by a different job: Instrument Peddler

We don't need to bloat the job system even more, and we're having troubles finding someone willing to debug what we got. Disco is quite busy.

Wouldn't it further exactly what it was designed for?
Promoting Role play while giving the players more of what they want, flavour items with some nice little bonuses. Be it a Job system necklace with an in-depth description, or a suit of armour custom tailored to the individual who commissioned it.
Personally I don't see how it would be bloating, but if it would be easier on the Devs / DMs then the shops are fine whenever the time is made for it.
On the other hand, I highly doubt anyone would be angry over a longer wait for custom instruments.

I meant adding new jobs when there's already dozens that go pretty unused, but tha's my personal opinion.

SElvec is using "legit" to mean "ones that were given by a DM, as otherwise without being sneaky there's no way to have an instrument".

How can it be Illegal, When they're implemented in the Game-world? If the DM team share your opinion on this matter, Those instruments should be removed asap then.

Good lord, relax, Svensk. They're not implemented, he is just using the appearance crafting. I suggest you do not, because if you do and your inventory decides to explode like it does with fishing rods, it become smy job to pull out archive copies an it doesn't make me happy to archive dig.
IT's not ZOMG ILLEGAL TAKE THEIR STUFF DMS!

Dunno if I agree about a job since they are items to improve RP already however there's a perfectly good NPC shop in Zanshibon /made/ for bards already that they can be added to...if not already. I've not had a chance, or IC cause for the matter, to look.

They're not usable, just decorative. Turning them usable requires some scripting, and I'd rather save that for DC requests.
I don't consider slapping a few spell castings on a tambourine making it "usable", btw. You're just casting spells out of the item then... not using it.

Now that they are in game, I am curious how much of a pain it would/wouldn't be to swap all instruments (harp of pandemonium, horn of blasting, etc.) into the equipable variants. Would be nice to see someone actually pull out the harp/horn/lute to be able to use it.

It's doooooable, but the diff is that most of those items are not categorized as equippable. They're categorized in the misc. items, so they'd all have to be recreated/recategorized, which I believe will require scripting on each item to get them to work properly. I can't see anyone wanting to do this anytime soon, but you never know who will get a wild hair about what.

It would make things kinda easier not to have to search through 10 lutes for that one that has the spell you want. And indeed it would make acting out a spell filled performance a lot easier and item wise more realistic.

I might as well ask this here, rather than starting a new thread in Requests for whats just a query, but if I wanted my actual 'workable' instruments in my Inventory 'resized' so to speak, to make more room in bags/containers? The Bassoon, harps etc? Effectively, they would each be a 'new', smaller icon with name and the effects transferred over to them, I suppose.
How many DC's, may I ask?
