Well, any subrace of Elf would work, and human or half-elf could be okay if we find a suitable build. Having dev crit and epic dodge makes me think of a somehwat cheesey but tasty build.

Preferabbly, I'd rather have more focus on the spear, but I don't want the bow part to be gimped.

Ste, you can PM it to me if you want, I'll take a look at it lol. Still, the cleric one strikes me as fun, but I'm open to other thoughts.

Well sort of. I have an RP in mind, but it can work out with different subraces.

The double Dev AA is one of the easiest builds.

10 Fighter 2 Bard 18 AA

18str (7)
16dex
13int
9con
8wis
8cha
No wood elf shit required.

Pre-epic 9 Fighter 1 Bard 10 AA
7 Standard Feats + 5 Fighter Feats
Feats: 2 x WF, 2 x Imp Crit, Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave, Called Shot, Knockdown, Improved Knockdown, Point Blank Shot, 1 free (Rapid Shot).

Epic: 1 Fighter 8 AA 1 Bard
4 Standard Feats + 1 Fighter Feat + 2 AA bonus feats (Both EWF)
2 x EWF, Armorskin, 2 x Overwhelming, 2 x Devastating.
Final fighter feat comes at 30 where you pick up the dual devs.

Ranged AB: 9 Modifier + 9 Arrow Enhancement + 24 BAB + 3 EWF + 5 GMW + 2 Bless/Aid = 52 AB.
Melee AB: 13 Modifier + 24 BAB + 3 EWF + 5 GMW + 2 Bless/Aid = 47 AB

The shit thing about this build is that you will almost always fall back to using your bow because it hits more often and probably does better average damage.

I think that may be the one I need, though, I can't follow that layout too well. I may just be reading it wrong. Though, Mosh, is there a way for the Spear AB to be a bit higher on that sort of build? Perhaps less AA levels or something?

I dont see why you cant try in a leveling module dumping 4 AA levels for 4 Fighter levels, should earn you 1 feat in total aswell.
I dont know what this does for your ab, but grabbing 2 of them on epic will let you add epic prowess on this too.

Well in truth the funkier build would possibly be 18 Fighter 3 Bard 9 AA.

And because I'm a chilled dude I'll PM both to you Sin in ordered levelling so as to not cluster fuck the build thread.

I'm consideering rebuilding a Drow of mine. And I know this subrace is the bane of all builders (it certaintly makes me wince, anyways), but..

I want a build that's pretty much "Always ready to go". None of those builds that rely on "Performance Enhancers." One I have been considering is 16 Rogue/5 Fighter/7 WM. Which would be really tanky! But wouldn't be abe to hit something strapped down. What other options are there, if any?

28 Rogue. Always ready to do a something.

20 Fighter 1 Rogue 7 Weapon Master. Stronghold type smacker of Elfers.

Blackguard 16 Fighter 11 Rogue 1. Stupidly alright.

14 Fighter 13 Weapon Master 1 Rogue

15 Rogue 8 Fighter 5 Weapon Master. Dexer chap. Epic Dodge misses out on crippling strike however.
17 rogue 6 fighter 5 weapon master. Dexer chap. Epic Dodge and nets crippling strike for one less fighter feat and one less AB.

Tons of builds which fit.

Crap. You've gone and invoked my indecisive spirit. Now, with all these options, I'll never get anywhere. :3

Edit: Although probably one of the rogue ones is most suitable.

Rogue 28 seems like a lot of fun off the battle feild. He'll be able to do everything. That gives me an idea for a character concept.

Any thoughts? This is for an upcoming warlock toon of mine.

Sure, why not. The only problem is you'll hate yourself forever for not going Pally. You might also want to consider going 23/6/1, you'll end up with the same amount of feats but have more spell power.

I'm looking for a dual longsword wielding epic dodge build. Preferably Barbarian or monk based for extra speed. Weapon master longsword would be cool but probably drains up to much feats.

Well you're not going to use longswords as a monk and if you're going duel-longswords it kind of begs for Weapon Master Devy-Crit, in my opinion. It's unlikely you'll be a star in PvP, but the PvM will be sooo coool.

The big issue is AB - you're down by 4 anyway just for dualling with Medium weaponry - and you need to keep STR high as well as your 25DEX for Epic Dodge. I'd go for Barb17/Rogue13 to save on feats and boost AB. You get 24 BAB there, WF, Epic Prowess and Epic WF as feats for 28, 32 with a stock +4 sword.

From there it depend on starting race. Chultan and stock elf give 16STR without absurd minmaxing, Wood elf gives 18. That gives 41 and 42AB singlehanding, and Rage bumps that to 45/46, I think. That's acceptable.

I have given myself a quest to make a something nasty with small weapons. Halfling WM with daggers or kukries come to mind, but I'm unsure if they can be beefy enough. The core of the idea is a character that specializes in knives, preferably daggers, much like the Invisible Blade prestige class. Any ideas other than the standard rogue/fighter/Wm with epic dodge and dualwield?

Ever considered parry?
You throw in some bard levels, Sprinkle over some parry skills, and let the Bard song water the build.

Then cook at 200Degrees, and wait for level 30.
And voilà! - You'll be un-touchable in melee and nag the hell outa' all challengers, All that with a pair of daggers...
Doesn't it make your mouth water?

Disclaimer: Pretty much only works with Dev.crit, And it's tad difficult on a halfling

After googling Invisible Blade, any common WM or rogue build seems valid. You could easily make a daggerwielding monk, barbarian, ranger or bard, as well. It's easy to get DEX 15 on a Hin for any build you like, the question is if you want it completely DEX based.

The standard WM requires 6 Feats, A halfling has 7 Pre-epic. Toss in 4 fighter, and its game. A dex-based 18rogue/7WM/5Fighter isn't to shabby.

25*cough* you can get Dex 15 any time during character creation...

Nope, I meant that Hin get +2 DEX, ergo it is not a trouble to get Improved Two-weapon Fighting which requires DEX 15. To other races, without any DEX bonus, this causes trouble as they will either have to pay 2 points in the character creation or a bonus ability point gained every fourth level.

It's not that every halfling would have to go DEX. That's just blah.

Svensk has been drinking ditch water again.

17 Rogue/7WM/6 Fighter (fighter 6 for the yummy epic weapon spec)

Thats 8 Rogue 7WM 5 Fighter in Pre-pic

and

9 Rogue 1 Fighter in epic.

Eighteen rogue gives you nothing. At all. You want to start of on 19dex to free up an epic feat for something.

He said other than epic dodge, Opustus was referring to Dualwielding feats not epic dodge.

I heard parry wasn't so great because it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.. or something. I entirely forgot the reason. But now I'm curious to hear what people's two-cents are on it.

No CoT.

The CoT class is designed around being a Champion of a God. Complete Arcane Specifically states that while Warlocks acknowledge the existence of deities they aren't beholden to them for power. You need to take a non-divine class for your +1 BAB classes.

My Suggestion is this:
21 Sorc 8 Fighter 1 Bard

Go
10 Str
18 Dex (20) +2 level ups
10 Con
8 Wisdom
15 Cha (20) +5 level ups
14 Int

hmm... CoT was mostly for meta magic feats, but as that won't figure in with the request of the widget, fighter does look decent.

CoT doesn't give metamagic feats, its bonus feats are draw from te fighter list.

The couple of levels post epic do.

But not like they would matter much given the widget concept for the blast. I suppose they could be applied to invocations, but none that directly effect the blast, am I correct?

Was thinking of making a warlock type caster, basing it on rays, and nature based attacks such as entangle, wall of flame, then nuke.

Feytouched and feypact so no nasty undead,y type stuff.

Now my main Question,is expertise and imp exp. worth it for a caster class, esp. sorcerer type like this?...as I want them too only have robes and such on,and the ideas too pin down the enemy and stand back and fire?

yes but barbarian a dexbuild with epic dodge wont give me the feats for wm and dev. :/ And I realy want to have epic dodge as I want to play a swordsmen that just evades attacks before hacking the other person to bits.

My other for weaponry was no dual wielding and a bastard sword with no shield.

Anyway I'll toy a bit with 13 rogue 17 barb and I'll check in here to see if anyone has more tips. (keep in mind I'm making this char for coolness and the reason I posted here is because it has to be at least a bit effective)

Well, epic dodge means your dex-based, so you need weapons that can be finessable, which means no long or bastard swords.

Noticed the part I mentioned style and coolness? A screaming barbarian looses the frightening part when he is wearing two rapiers...
And I just want a nimble warrior, with a real weapon.

How ..Do you get the highest possible Hide/MS check -Ever- , on a Dex Human ranger?

So far, I've counted 5 feats required.
#1Skill focus Hide +3
#2Skill focus MS +3
#3Stealthy Hide +2 / MS +2
#4Epic skill focus Hide +10
#5Epic skill focus MS +10

The major question is, Even with all feats possible, and maxed Skill check + ranger 'Trackless steps' .. Is it enough to beat the most pumped spotter?

14Dex Modifier
10 Epic skill focus
3 skill focus
2 stealthy
50 Gear and spells
33 Base skill
4 trackless steps
= 116

The major question is, Even with all feats possible, and maxed Skill check + ranger 'Trackless steps' .. Is it enough to beat the most pumped spotter?

14Dex Modifier
10 Epic skill focus
3 skill focus
2 stealthy
50 Gear and spells
33 Base skill
4 trackless steps
= 116

Not in the slightest.

You're forgetting the +10 from Camoflague! A spell I believe Ranger's get! That makes it 126! AHA! You'd be safe then.

Camo + Mass Camo count towards the +50 skill bonus, as does bard song.

It is plenty to beat a devoted spotter, there are tons of hidden modifiers that work towards both spot and hide.

The real question is "they will probably just use a polymorph scroll and turn umberhulk, so what do I do when they catch me?"

Little request here, I've been dying to try playing a "Warrior" type character for years but every time I go to make one I realize that I have literally no idea how to build one.

So basically what I would like to know is a good warrior style build, preferably more offensive then defensive and for this one specifically having DROW as the race.
