Well. I Stand by my statement; That a Wizard / AA May be the best out there.
8AA Pre-Epic 12 Wiz Pre Epic ************ 1AA 9 Wizard Epic -=- Equals -=- 21Wiz/9AA -=- Equals -=-
8+6(Base)= 14 + 10(DEX) + 5Epic + 5 AA + 10 Tensers + 5GMW + 3 (Wep Focus/Epic Wep Focus) + +1(pointBS)= 53. -2 Rapid = 51.
I mean, 51 AB + Haste and some spells on the rear = Nasty.
// I do not have my calculator up; So it may be faulty.

No, the best is the cleric/AA.
The wiz/AA is only good because it's a wizard. The cleric AA is the best because it has RIDICULOUS AB AND DAMAGE AND WILL KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND.
Honorable mention goes to the Bard/AA because it partybuffs better than the cleric.

Really? I seem to remember it not stacking when I looked at my combat log. *shrug* That's what I get for trying to answer technical questions before I really wake up, I guess.

Pfft, Cursing lets you stay up close to shoot, and PBS is +1 AB/+1 damage.

At seven less AC than the Board and Sword wielding Bard. Sorry seen to many Bard/AA's get raped doing it, to even bother having them in my party. And with dAI AA's draw a ridiculous amount of heat for some reason. Not saying I wouldn't have one along, just saying the class combo's underwhelming when you consider what a Bard is supposed to do in NwN.

With the cleric AA, could you RP as a divine archer instead of an arcane archer?

Also, with all this talk of arcane archers, no one has mentioned a druid arcane archer. Is that a feasible build both mechanically and RPly?

Druid27/Bard2/AA1 (or less Druid more AA) caster druid and zen archery with a good animal companion and/or EDK. Less cheesy but less good is the pure druid30 with GMW page on bow. AB will be low in either case. Same as the cleric, really, just more sucky because of lack of buffs.
Either way, its not really awesome, but doable. It's easier to play since your summons nomnomnom the critters while you can shoot from safe distance and drop some of the offensive druid spells.
I RPed a cleric/AA as divine archer, makes sense with all the cleric buffs that enhance your AB/dmg.
I played the Bard/AA and its a two edged sword like Mosh said. Lasting winspiration is reason enough to join any party, but the running in and out for curse song is tedious. Staying in the middle of Abyss spawns is dangerous, perhaps less for a skilled player.

I'm working on an elven monk/assassin/sd archer. Right now, thinking 16/8/6.
STR: 12 DEX: 17 (max this) CON: 12 WIS: 12 INT: 14 CHA: 10 (I didn't want to RP 8 cha XD)
PBS, dodge, mobility, weapon focus, rapid shot, are the only feats I know I want, this is my first character that will use a bow.
Also I'm kind of confused where to allocate his skills, and on the function of listen vs. spot. I would imaging spot is useless vs. invisibility? is maxing listen and ignoring spot viable?
Am I going to be screwed for AB? Any tips to maximize his effectiveness would be appreciated. Right now he's 5 monk/1 assassin.

I'm actually more desperate for Assassin levels than SD. But HiPS I feel would make the gameplay a lot more fun. Is 40/42 AB workable for a ranged sneaker for PvP?

If you're wanting to be a Ranged character, I don't see the point in taking so many Monk Levels. All its really getting you is increased movement speed? Everything else from those levels seems kind of...useless. I would consider Monk10/Assassin10/Shadowdancer10. 10 levels of SD opens up Epic Dodge, which is a super awesome feat. Could possibly drop even more Monk levels to increase the Assassin level, but without knowing what the Assassin poison changes that are on the way are I dont know how good an idea that is. Could maybe go as far as 6/14/10, slightly slower but with higher death attack damage/DC, and an extra epic bonus feat. AB would suffer slighty with that setup though. Maybe 9/11/10.

9 Monk 5 SD is enough for epic dodge.
That makes the premium build for that
9 Monk 6SD 15 Assassin.
You'd probably go, 8 Monk 4 SD 8 Assassin in pre-epic
Then follow that up with
2 SD 4 Assassin 1 Monk 3 Assassin.
What you really want to do is start on 18 Dex though.
STR: 10 DEX: 18 (max this and one Great Dexterity) CON: 12 WIS: 12 INT: 13 CHA: 10
Your Epic Feats will probably look somewhat like this.
Epic Weapon Focus(21), Great Dex(24), Epic Dodge (27), Epic Skill Focus Hide (Assassin Bonus), Armor Skin(30).
Edit: Don't get fixated on 10 SD is my advice, since 10SD doesn't really net you much when your combining SD with Rogue or Monk.

Brainfart. Thats what happens when I post at 1am, I was sat here thinking "he doesn't need that much monk, he gets Improved Evasion from Shadowdancer...", the opposite didn't occur to me. And I was so pleased with my super advice! Surely he wants 14INT though, for Assassin spelllikes.

As i read this, I get stumped. Because i do not understand why you only take 1 Level of AA sometimes? Like in the 28/cleric/1Bard/1AA. That... Only nets you the usage of Amia's AA Arrows; Correct?

True.
Currently looking at the 28Cleric/1Bard/1AA, Because the number of Extra feats and the power which it can cast spells make it a Deadly marksman. And a superior 'Explosive' attacker; in terms of Earthquakes or Implosions when you feel cornered.
Yet; i would love for it to be combined with Divine shield/Power; But alas that would quench much of the powers it has.

So, what you were trying to say was taking one rogue level and using AA only arrows with UMD is against the rules? Probably. Taking 1 level of AA for the arrows is cheesy, yes. Against the rules? No.

Hence my confusion, as long as you have one AA level those arrows are fair game. Now given the trade off for those arrows, being epic weapon spec for clerics you aren't gaining a huge advantage either.

Damn, it's seeming to me that the monk archer assassin build isn't even viable. I wanted the monk levels for survivability, I still planned on him using unarmed / kama from time to time, and monk speed on an elven hipster? badass.
So what I'm really wondering is how useless the 16/8/6 build would be? I guess I would rather take the movespeed, saves, extra h2h attacks, extra AC, extra immunities, spell resistance, etc. than increased death attack dice and higher death attack DC.
Another question: Can you take epic weapon specialization with four levels of fighter taken pre-epic and one level taken post? How do you tell the difference on the wiki between epic feats/etc which require 21 class levels?

Something I noticed the other day was that if you are a cleric/paladin/Druid and you equip an item that gives you a bonus spell slot, before your able to obtain that spell is this allowed or is it against the rules?
(Better explaining) A level 5cleric/10CoT/5Paladin equips a belt that offers paladin bonus spell level 4 and they use holy sword and cast it. Is this legal or some form of an exploit?

Okay, attempt number 23902:
Mulan
Monk 16 / Fighter 5 / Assassin 9
Starting Stats after Subrace:
STR 16 (maxing) DEX 10 CON 11 (+1) INT 14 WIS 16 CHA 8
Starts with: Luck of Heroes Strong Soul Blind Fight
Gonna use a single kama over unarmed for poison, and at the same time I'll be de-equipping the kama for stunning fists, what have you. four fighter levels after three monk for the extra ab / feats / weapon spec.
Not really sure what feats I'm going, there is a lot more room than what I'm used to, expertise perhaps? Along with stealthy, skill focus move silently and hide. Maxing Discipline, UMD, Tumble, MS/Hide, with a nice amount of points left over.
Fighter level taken at 30 for discipline and epic weapon spec.
AB was somewhere around 40 naked, i think I can make that work? Any general build advice appreciated.

Yes there are. He then gets acces to level 6 spells in his book.
Edit. Atleast my ranger got a level 3 spell when equipping a certain belt, when level wise he would only get level 1 spells.

Hi peoples *Waves*
I am tossing about an idea in my head for a while now an just tonight i tried to put it together but i honestly don't know enough about druids/shifts to build one effectively.
Now the character concept is important, basically i want him to be a "spy", so using all the shifted forms to infiltrate different factions under different names and personality's for each type of shape, and ultimately if or when i get 1000 faces i can use that also to create new persona to use.
So i had a look at builds online and they all seemed like gibberish to me so i thought i would ask anyone who has experience making druids builds if they could send me pm or talk hear about good builds.
i built a build myself tho i know not if its effective.
5 druid, 15 shifter , 10 shadow dancer. Wild elf.
STR: 8 DEX: 18 (22) +!2 gear CON: 10 WIS: 16 (18) +12 gear ? INT: 14 CHA: 8 ** What stats are important for a shifter to have, i am not after druid spells i simply want to be able to shift for RP use and i guess to use in exploring, i want my 1000 face forms and normal form to be able to handle itself as well. a
Level 01: Druid(1): doge Level 02: Druid(2) Level 03: Druid(3): Alertness Level 04: Druid(4): Level 05: Druid(5) Level 06: Shifter(1): Mobility Level 07: Shifter(2) Level 08: Shifter(3): Level 09: Shifter(4): Weapon Finesse Level 10: Shifter(5) Level 11: Shifter(6) Level 12: Shifter(7): Toughness Level 13: Shifter(8) Level 14: Shadowdancer(1) Level 15: Shadowdancer(2): Improve Crit Rapier Level 16: Shadowdancer(3): Level 17: Shadowdancer(4) Level 18: Shadowdancer(5): Weapon Focus Rapier Level 19: Shadowdancer(6) Level 20: Shifter(9): Level 21: Shifter(10)Armour Skin Level 22: Shifter(11) Level 23: Shifter(12) Level 24: Shifter(13): Epic weapon Focus Level 25: Shifter(14): ?? Level 26: Shifter(15) Level 27: Shadowdancer(7): ?? Level 28: Shadowdancer(8): ?? Level 29: Shadowdancer(9) Level 30: Shadowdancer(10)
1. can i hips using my hide and MS when in other forms. 2. What is a good stat layout for a druid, i heard a lot of people junk con and str as they will get from shapes ? 3. is taking SD levels feasible, i wanted to be able to SD and follow people in 1000 faces shaped i guess so i can infiltrate and work as a SD under different names etc. 4. what if any stats or skills carry over into the shapes. 5. is Dragon shape worth it ? ( as it seems id have to sacrifice a lot of dex and make the character not very playable in my opinion without shapes) 6. Is it possible to make a druid/shifter/sd build that is playable PVE/PVE without shifting, e.g drinking pots good Armour and using SD and hide to fight monsters etc while having the forms as a backup. 7. Is for Lore reasons an "evil" character legitimate able to learn about shifting and manipulation of nature to use for his own purposes ? 8. in the above build is more SD a better idea than shifter ? tho i was told if i can get 17th level shifter i get better shapes so 5druid,17shifter,8SD ? is that a better layout or not, i just don't know lol
As for the entire idea i am totally new to shifter druid RP and will have to research more into the lore etc, but atm i just want to create a shifter build that will be able to be played as a spy for infiltrating.
p.s if anyone out there has a build they have used in amia that works well if you could PM them to me so i can play around with them in character creator that be great, as i just dont know were to stand iv played dev critting fighter builds or Wizards "forever" lol
Also any help with lore for this character or suggested faction on amia etc would be great.

Amen, good sir, amen.

Also any help with lore for this character or suggested faction on amia etc would be great. 90% Of the shifter shapes are awsome due to spells atm. If you're going melee, Either go Fighter or Monk. And since you're not, I'd STRONGLY suggest getting Metamagic Feats; Aka Extend and Empower OR Maximize. Spell penetration is a must in high levels. Weaponfinesse Can be good. Zen Archery is divine And for the love of god; Focus in Wisdom. Only. You're a shifter! And since the fix came in, Abilities doesn't stack with Abilities.19 Shifter nets you 'all' the improved shapes. 15 Shifter levels only make 50% of the plain ones improved READ THIS PAGE

Mulan
RP behind your choice of the Mulan subrace before I help you any further. He was born Mulan. He doesn't care much for politics, and has traveled the world with his master for around 40+ years, protecting the secrets of their style. He was born upper class, but was only 9 years old when he was given to the monk for training. He's around 52 years old now, he was never able to return home, and has spent the majority of his life not using his skills for a particular reason. I don't really want to say TOO much. His only oddity from the Mulanese, being removed from their region and culture at such a young age, is that he keeps a full head of hair and beard, which is white. I thought the white beard and hair might be pushing it, but then again different races from earth who generally are dark haired still grow white with age. He definitely "acts" like my idea of a Mulanese character, though being quite removed and being a little crazy. etc. etc. Not really sure what else you're looking for. I don't know a whole lot about the Mulanese, though I've played with Thayvians before, and I made this guy just off of what I've read last night, so please be gentle. And any tips or pointing out problems would be appreciated, I am putting effort into making it work, as you can see.

I recommend you get your hands on the 2E supplement "Old Empires". Some basics of Mulhorand can be read here viewtopic.php?f=70&t=34438, after the faction stuff.

read somewhere shifters -do not- get hips in other forms, that said some forms have hips.
also dual weild fails, also metamagics are only useful in non shifted/magic forms. being a dex build I would grab spring attack unless you plan to spam on tumble. its useful for moving in combat.
not sure what to sugest though, max of 18 wisdom you might want to rethink that for epic shapes.
ed: if you want to pvp with a sneak, without shifting, this imho is not the build. would lose epic shapes and strength for more dex and find extra sneak damage items ? maybe...there are much more ganky builds I would rather not speak of that are good for sneak pvp/e, and polymorph wands do something like what your after but to a lesser extent. with epic items eventually could stand a fighting chance with tactics, straight up force is never a good idea with sneaks. the rest is down to RP and preferance, I would grab epic focus hide/ms also, since the epic feats seam to be pretty free for choices.
I nearly went with a 13 shifter also, but ended up taking the 20 route, I guess it depends how much shifter you want and how you want to balance your normal form, and feats and such.
would go as far as saying try 11/10 shifter, and grab sd's epic summon, but i'd have to test that one to see if it works.

Argument; Since i study Medicine, I've been thinking of making a Cleric of Salandaria for while now. Sex; Female. Reasoning?; Nothing beats an old Cranky Nurse; That's so conservative in medicine that the Church of England would roll over and die.Race; Thinking some Half-Elf; So that she has the spirit of a human and a long life (Really Old Hag)-------------------28Cleric/1Ranger/1Monk is viable?
Or 24Cleric/6Monk is good to? Or Just 30 Cleric? Need help with Build concepts. Once i got a Build Concept, I will look into details! Go brainstorm! Everything works!

finally a cleric that uses blugeoning weapons ^_^
would say 27/3 ranger (for zen boost.), or 30.
monk 1...I don't see why you'd want a monk 1...needs 3 for monk speed. 6/24 looks like a plan though.
however, if your going to be a healing focus cleric I would say go 30, buff heal to 33, but whatever focus I would say 30 cleric. only need monk or ranger if you want to go melee rather than casting.
any ideas what domain? I guess good and healing, maybe...also goes without saying but wisdom should be your main stat, waay up there.

Thank you, I'll look over that stuff. I wasn't trying to be a dick mind, but I have a soft spot for Mulan characters and like seeing them played as close to lorewise as possible, its also beneficial for consistency to play them close to lore, because the characters you'll interact with as a Mulan like that. Mind the Mulan subrace encompasses three and a half realms so its actually fairly versatile. Chessanta, Unther, Mulhorand and Thay. What i see in that character build is a Setite Cultist or Maybe even a Sebekan or lastly the seedy underbelly of Mulhorand which is a Polytheistic unpatroned Assassin who does the dirty work for the Churches and the Courts. Assassins lurk in every corner and whilst they are never ordered a Noble may say "This person irritates us, we would not be displeased to see him fall" and the Assassin would do his damndest to get the job done. He wouldn't do it for pay, he would do it out of the sense of duty the entire Mulhorandi people sway to.
