Just out of curiousity, is there a BoT page for the polymorph spell or are non-shifters restricted to the vanilla Troll, Pixie, Spider, Zombie, 'Hulk deal?

no BoT page, you want neat forms, pick the shifter class.

Don't have to be a shifter. You can be a druid and get 1000 faces as well as the animal and elemental forms. Or maybe a dream coin item? However, temporary forms are extremely expensive I hear.

If I remember correctly:

Temporary PC Skinchange: 15 DC

A custom script would be ~25 DC (+- some depending on the amount of work need to be done)
Custom script means to change an existing polymorph/shapeshift into a new skin.
e.g. The green dragon from of the dragonshapeshift feat to be changed into a black dragon

I got a polymorph self DC item once (panther form for ~10 RL minutes), it cost 25 DC.

Such stuff is usually nowdays made with a temporary skinchanger widget which also lasts until you unshift.

The skinchanger has some pro's and some cons. Your stats stay so you don't get the stats or the abilities from the creature you change into.

On the pro side... you can save your character while in this form. NWN doesn't let you save poymorphed characters.

However if you get a skinchange-widget that is supposed to be a an arcane polymorph or shapeshift spell (or divine for that matter) you'd still need to rp it accordingly. Meaning, someone who has TS up can see who/what you really are and your shapeshift can be disspelled with magic.

Well that answers at least one question I've had in mind since I started my character here. I always wondered what it would take to get a good dragon model vs the evil ones for shifters who aren't evil if we didn't want to use a chromatic shape.

It is possible. I know of at least one druid who could change to a copper dragon with that instead. :)

When the list comes back around, we're looking at altering the wyrmling and dragon forms so ogod gets metallic ad evil gets chromatic and neutrals, uh, idk.

dont see why you would need to go to all the work of doing that form dragon and wyrmling.

most of thier shapes are Evil or monsters like, if they dont mind turning into undead,mindflayers,driders,Rakshasa,Gargoyle...ect turning into a diffrent colour wyrmling/dragon should not matter much.

if anything they would get to change at will, they are a shapeshifter no matter what if they are evil or good nothing stops them from taking metallic or chromatic forms.

Well most spells that someone else cast on you work. You yourself can neither cast (beside epic spells) read scrolls or use magical items while beeing polymorphed.

If you let someone buff you which spells work depends on your form.

Magic fang and greater magic fang generall -only- work on your own (if you are a ranger or druid) companion. Nothing else.

If a caster buffs you most spells that can be cast on other persons/creatures will work on you. eg stoneskin, bark skin, elemental protection, imp invis, mage armor, haste, bulls strength, cat's grace, endurance and so on and so on.

A few spells will depend on the shape you picked. e.g. greater magic weapon and flame weapon will only work on you if you picked a polymorph that actually has a weapon drawn or (I think) uses a creature weapon that can be cast on.

P.S. ther are so many spells, I couldn't list them all now. I could tell you about the magic fang you asked... if you have further questions about a specific spell tell me and I'll answer you if it works or not. :)

And if you don't have a weapon in the polymorphed form you can buff before you shift and it should merge. It does for shifter forms at least. Not sure about the others.
