I have always wondered about this.

If you have a character that is really, REALLY ugly, like in my case, Escar, due to her self mutilation, can I have a DM make her CHA into something realistic, like a 4 or 3?

Charisma isn't just appearance. It also measures force of personality and a host of other factors. I don't see why she can't be butt ugly with just 8 CHA or 6 CHA, depending upon her race. With anything lower, she wouldn't just be horribly ugly, but probably a mental case due to massive self-image issues as well. Not to mention I don't believe we modify characters in that way at all. You'll have to use -CHA gear to represent it, if you want.

Well Escar isnt just ugly, but very mentally challenged as well. Very unstable and just a tortured mind.

Negative CHA gear....where do I get that?

DC gear - or you can find it. But because you're already RPing her as ugly, and you'd want the quick route. I'd suggest making a request for such an item.

A necklace of general unattractiveness!

How many DC's would that cost?

We don't do DC costs. Do the RP in the request forum first for your request, and then if approved they'll tell you how much it costs.

But I wouldn't imagine it'd be all too expensive. Especially because it degenerates your PCs abilities, and does not enhance in a mechanical sense.

There's enough -CHA stuff in the game that I'd not spend any Dream Coins on it.

Does it really matter, though? I doubt anyone, DMs included, is going to look at the way you RP and demand you roll out a -4 modifier.

Other way around actually.

He at best could only get a -2 modificator, and I don't think a DM will require of them to roll -2 if they say he is so ugly he'd have to roll at -4.

I don't understand. You can lower CHA to 3(modifier-4). Assuming 8 base, you pop two Tarnished Rings and a Trollskin Cap on and that's you done.

CHA is easily done with items curretly available, yeah. Done it on one character, down to 3.

Use that ring that gives you immunity to hold person, there you go. But yeah, it's just RP, not like we ever actually look at your CHA stats to determine how much we like you.

For an item with no properties, 3 DCs. When I requested a -3 Charisma armor for my (now retired) tiefling, it cost me exactly that.

I like the no Dc approach to this, cheap items to reduce her CHA to 3!

Even dogs will hate how she looks
