16 levels of cleric and 4 levels of fighter pre-epic. Wisdom to 19, charisma to maximum, power attack, divine might and divine shield, extend spells. Feats for your weapon of choise. After epic 2 fighter elevels, epic weapon focus and specialization. Rest cleric, charisma, charisma everywhere.

Go only 2 fighter pre-epic and then 2 more in epic levels. Nab Weapon Spec and Epic Weapon Spec on the same level, so that means use your 4th fighter level on 24, 27, or 30.

This way, your Divine Power is more valuable as your extra attack from it is at full AB. This was something I didn't realize until I posted here, but it's definitely worth it.

There are way too many possible mixes... You really can't screw up a cleric though so don't worry. Think up of your character idea first. It will build itself.

Race? Domains? Skills? Melee, ranged, or caster? STR, DEX, CON, WIS, or CHA?

I hate relying on divine power. It has a short duration and can be dispelled. 4 pre-epic full bab levels can not be dispelled and they never run out.

Making a spell more valuable by relying blidnly on it is a bad idea.

Your lowest swing on a cleric if you go 16 bab is 1 + spells and feats and mods. If your divine power gets dispelled the rest get dispelled too. You wont hit a damn thing with your lowest swing without the buffs with 4 attacks pre-epic.

However you will hit a lot when the short duration buffs run out and you do not have time to cast them again.

And 4 Fighter in total means more Cleric, and therefore less chance of being dispelled by Mordekainen.

A dispelled cleric is a dead cleric, which is why it is important to go with a nifty CL, such as 25 which grants you the immunity to dispel!

And yush, Divine Power is just of more use as an additional attack with the full AB than +1 BAB. The whole point of the class as a meleer is to rely on buffs.

IMO a buffed up cleric is the strongest build there is and you cant really mess it up if you follow any of the advices given.
You quickly will learn that if you buff up the standard longlasting buffs and then uses the divine power and favour just before battles nothing can stand in your way.
When it comes to PvP its a whole other matter, clerics arent that uber suddently, unless the opponent dosent know how to play.
You risk the change of getting disspelled, and as soon as the PvP-RP-talk is over and both are set to hostile and you try to cast your nifty divine power/favour and so, your enemy will start bashing at you or run in hide and wait for his chance or whatever.
A caster cleric with Implosion will be more deadly here.
If you dont care for PvP this isnt a concern of course, and I repeat the cleric build will give you the easiest way to lvl 30 against Amias monsters, still just IMO.

In PvP the cleric's best weapon is actually EQ for obvious reasons. No one boosts Reflex.

So....interesting little puzzle for you build-aholics.

I've been contemplating getting a rebuild done, since recent RP has been sliding toward Cyn learning how to properly wield dual kamas.

Currently she's unarmed focused, thinking of going dual kama, obviously.

Now, this is a bit challenging, as I'd like to keep the same levels in the classes she has, which are 3 monk / 10 shadowdancer / 16 rogue.

How could I utilize these three classes and feats to get the most benefit out of the kamas?

She's a tiefling, btw, with base stats below (after subrace activation)

STR: 11
DEX: 18
CON 11
INT: 12
WIS 16
CHA: 8

Oh, and last thing. I'd need a step-by-step plan for it. Since I'm well....clueless at figuring out what to take, and when to take it.

EDIT: also needs to retain her spot/ms skills. :P just figured I'd add that on.

i'm on it, I need to kill about an hour. though, I won't have a step by step at first, never do, need to build it twice for that >_> i'll update here.

--

ed: 7 attacks a round, i'm not sure I could clearly step by step this one if I had all day, you need to take 1 monk, then rouge until SD, and go, rouge, rouge, sd, else you get stuck on skill points cause there...actually too many >_> (by this I mean 2 rouge levels for each sd level, and take 1 monk at level 15 or somewhere abouts, and 28, must take rouge at level 29, for epic dodge.)

weapon finesse, focus and epic focus kama, and improved crit, crippling strike, epic skill focus MS, epic dodge -at- level 29, um, I see why you took 3 monk aswell, monk speed is not that great unless your going 20 monk but ok......I deffinatly need to do a re-over if i'm gunna write a step by step, also take monk at level one for the kamas so you don't waste feats on weapons.

thats about the best advice I can give you without spending another two hours on it, and I need to be doing things irl.

skills also, MS hide, spot listen, UMD tumble, I all recommend, also stat dump discipline on the monk levels, other than that its up to your RP and preferance, open lock is alot more useful than disable trap, i've seen so many that are *success will never be possible* since I started playing a rouge, though the smaller traps (which all tank builds shrug at, except maybe the abyss from what I hear) are easy enough to shift.

oh yea, buff dex all the way, and once you have agility belts and whatnot you'll have about +12 mod on your dex, by epic levels. add weapon finesse, which works with kamas, and epic focus and improved crit, 7 attacks per round, around 70 damage,--> before buffs. <--

final ed: it is a bit squishy though.

6 Monk 7 SD 17 Rogue is probably better.

Start 17 dex (19 after subraces) -> 26 (Via levelups)

4 Monk 4 SD 12 Rogue in pre-epic.

The reason is for BAB stacking and 6 monk nets you more AC and free IKD/KD.

I'd say nothing else works aswell but I'm sure something would.

Pre-epic: 2 Monk -> 12 Rogue -> 6 SD
Epic: 4 SD -> 3 Rogue -> 1 Monk -> 1 Rogue*

*4 SD -> 4 Rogue -> 1 Monk If you want to max Discipline instead of spot, traps, and other rogue skills.

Feats:
1: Ambidexterity & Two-Weapon Fighting
3: Weapon Finesse
6: Dodge
9: Mobility
12: Blind Fight & Crippling Strike
15: Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
18: Weapon Focus: Kama

21: Epic Weapon Focus: Kama
24: [Bonus Epic Feat]
25: Epic Skill focus [XYZ]
27: Great Dexterity
29: Epic Dodge

P.S. Those 11s on STR and CON claws at my soul. Please make it 10 & 12 or 12 & 10. Pretty please.

You can cope with WIS 10, which I'd personally do. The monk belt (+2 WIS, +2 DEX, Freedom), Owl's Insight scroll (+7 WIS), Owl's Wisdom potion and the helmet with +1 WIS and other überness get you the maximum bonus of +6 AC.

One of the epic feats should be Armour skin.

Its the build advice thread and I'm going to advise you that your choice of classes is bodgy. Just the thought of killing your AB so terribly with three low AB classes, wisdom far to high to have any mechanical value at all. Its not challenging, its easily done as pointed out by ticket but its bodgy.

I realise that 10 SD is probably important. So if it were me I'd drop 3 Rogue in favor of 3 Monk
So you end up with
6 Monk 13 Rogue 10 SD.

I'd also redistro some points at character creation to something like this
11str
17dex(19)
12con
14wis
12int(14)
8cha(6)

Pre-Epic
12 rogue -> 4 Monk -> 4 SD

Epic
2 SD -> 1 Monk -> 4SD -> 1 Monk -> 1 Rogue

Feats:
1: Ambidex, Two Weapon Fighting
3: Weapon finesse
6: Dodge
9: Mobility
10: Crippling Strike (RBF)
12: WF Kama
15: Improved Two Weapon Fighting
18: Blindfight

21: EWF: Kama
24: Epic Hide
27: Epic Spot
29: Epic Dodge

Redistroing your characters ability score so you have 19 dex after subrace activation is the big one here because it will free up some epic feats even on tickets build for some more epic feats.

6 Monk is 1 AC at level 5, +10 percent move speed, 3 more AC from wisdom once the cap is enabled, immunity to non-magical diseases, +1 BAB, Improved Knockdown and effectively +1 Universal Saves

At the cost of

1d6 sneaks, and a Rogue Bonus Feat in Epic.

My opinion of course. but the trade of to me is worth it.

Ninja Opustus: I swear I saw Epic Spotter, Epic hider Lurking in that there request thus why no armor skin which i made up for anyway with with the +4 AC from the extra 3 monk levels.

You penis. The build I had planned for her had 6 Monk levels. 10 + 12 = 22 = +6 modifier, which is all you get from having 6 Monk levels. So nuh, just go WIS 10 and don't listen to the Aussie!

If the 10 SD levels is important to you, then go Chris' route. Still I'd personally grab Armour skin over ESF Spot, if it's not vital concerning the character concept.

Learn to read you filthy Finn.

Also to quote the Bard if you can go 14 wisdom you mayaswell because then its just one owls insight scroll and a wisdom pot to 23 wisdom and no need to gear any wisdom on at all or rely on max party buffs from selfish asshats.

Switch epic Hide with Epic MS if you must but Epic MS is a waste of time really since the Epic Listeners are at the immediate disadvantage of you still being able to hit them with sneaks even if they "Hear" you.

It's just +7 WIS from the scroll, the belt you'd be wearing anyway, then additional +2 WIS from potion which leaves you with a single point remaining till maxed. Now, there's a helmet with +1 WIS you'll most likely wear anyhow, so might as well go that route.

You will never win this debate, you filthy Aussie, admit it.

MS/Spot skills. Bah, just go with the comfy score around the high 90's, you'll much rather be concentrating on Hide, as Chris pointed out.

Was toying around with a cheesy smelling dual kukri wielding dev critter.
Ranger21/WM7/Rogue2, just STR enough to get Dev crit, decent DEX, WIS and INT.
I'm sure its been done many times here so any advice on it?

EDIT: alright forget it, aint possible..

On the topic of thundering rage, its a lil counter intuitive. as much as DC20 on hit stun seems useful on paper, its quite useless.
the main reason being that anyone who doesnt have mindblank on against a barb automatically dies to terrifying rage (unless they are a paladin or 20monk).
Youre pretty much looking at 1d8 sonic dmg which can be resisted mind, in exchange for an epic feat.
It'll be nice if the 1d8 was applied to self instead of the weapon (if it isnt already) so at least it cant be resisted. Hardly broken considering its an epic feat that lasts a duration (not too different from divine might)

There are plenty of feats that are superb in PvM but not as useful in PvP. Thundering Rage is one of those.

just because listen ticks once per round and spot ticks 4 doesn't mean it sucks, infact its the only reason I don't need the see invis spell anymore up to about 20 relative feet.

at least get it to 16 or something as a secondary skill, the amount of points you get from rouge means you can utterly max the skills you want to keep -and- have more to play with. that test build I did, I ended up spamming on lore because there were far too many spare points.

search is also vastly underated.

For a hips spamming Rogue, there's a -Huge- difference if the person he/she's attacking has Spot/listen.
Think for yourself; Tick once per round, when he's clearly spamming hips 7 times a round...

Bam. Dead.

It might be useful for PvP. With my rogue character I boosted Search up to 10 then held off on that and Disable Trap to see how much would be needed for the Abyss traps. Yeah, they're still both at 10 base and she can clear the bridges just fine.

just because listen ticks once per round and spot ticks 4 doesn't mean it sucks, infact its the only reason I don't need the see invis spell anymore up to about 20 relative feet.

at least get it to 16 or something as a secondary skill, the amount of points you get from rouge means you can utterly max the skills you want to keep -and- have more to play with. that test build I did, I ended up spamming on lore because there were far too many spare points.

search is also vastly underated.

No amount of listen lets you see invisible people, says the WM who gets 80+ listen but doesn't see full plate clankers with -15 move silent.

Making a Lolthite drow. I want to go 8Fighter/16BG/4Rogue using a rapier, dex based. 16BG nets him that epic summon, if I am not mistaken. His stats are as follows:
14 Str
18 Dex
10 Con
14 Wis
14 Int
10 Cha
Currently level two fighter with Weapon Focus: Rapier and Expertise. Wanted to know if another build is recommended? And what feats are recommended for thsi build?

EDIT:: Ok. Now realize that I would have to have 2 rogue pre-epic, which would take away from my BAB. *Sigh.* Ideas? Just suck it up and take those?

Hi. I'm looking for a Dwarf build. Concept is a Troll slaying Warhammer 3rd ed inspired Dwarven ranger/barb build. Is it possible to make a Barb/ranger combo that dual-wields dwarven waraxs whit out shooting yourself in the foot. I have bin trying some combos in the toolset but i cant make anything good enough to be worth trying.

Base idea is a str heavy mainly barb whit light armor and some ranger lvls for fav enemy and dual-wield. maybe tossing in some rogue for a tumble and UMD dump.

Any ideas or should i go for either barb or ranger and not a combo?

Hey! since i have just returned i kinda lost my sense of builds, and i wanted to play something else than my usually chars...

What i am hoping for you can help me with is creating a strongheart Hafling Bard. as primary build...

but i don't know if there is any good subclasses for a bard.

The build doesn't have to be all over powered in hunting / pvp, but is welcome. But it is a rp server.

So basically what i am looking for is following:

Bard - primary class
Neutral or good alignemt.
Subrace if it fits in the build.
No Dragon Disciple.

Else i am up for everything

Keep in mind Stronghearts have +2 ecl.

Sincerely abil

And a quickie:
Fort: 42
Reflex: 27
Will: 27
Those are basic savings for a lvl 30 Fig/CoT/DD, good enough for PvP or just forget about reflex and will savings?

28 barb 1 ranger 1 rogue
24 barb 1 rogue 5 ranger
20 barb 1 rogue 9 ranger
18 bard 2 rogue 10 ranger
also consider
26 ranger 3 rogue 1 barb

Dwarven waraxes will severely gank your ab while dual wielding remember that.

that's my problem it's allways there i screw it up

+ what bonus attribute at which lvl

sincerely abil

P.S hey Greatpigeon

I'd suggest you redo your character while it's still early. Being a Drow (+2 CHA) & a BG, and not taking divine might/shield, is a mistake imo. Also, since you're DEX based, you might as well get 5 Rogues for 8d6 Sneak and take it as your 1st level for the bonus skill points.

5 Rogue/7 Fighter/16 Blackguard
STR: 14
DEX: 17 (24)
CON: 10
WIS: 14
INT: 10
CHA: 16

Pre-epic: 1R -> 4F -> 2R -> 10BG -> 1R -> 2F
Epic: 3BG -> 1F -> 2BG -> 1R -> 1BG

Feats:
1: [Bonus Feat] (Luck of Heroes / Called Shot?)
2: Weapon Finesse
3: Power Attack & Weapon Focus
5: Weapon Specialization
6: Cleave {+5 Hide}
9: Improved Critical
12: Divine Might
15: Divine Shield
18: Blind Fight
20: [Bonus Feat] (Great Cleave?)

21: Epic Weapon Focus
23: Armor Skin
24: Epic Weapon Specialization
27: Epic Prowess
28: Epic Fiendish Servant

Didn't double check, might have failed in something.
