Hey folks I wanted to know if anyone knows how to tell what set of keys your copy of NWN used as I have two sets and would like to give the non-used set to my friend but not certain how to find out which set im using. If such isn't possible is there a way I can get her a set of keys for her copy?

First one is vanilla NWN CD-key Second is SoU Third is HotU

You can freely swap them around; they're not actually assigned to any of the games in particular.

We will ban your face if you attempt to do bad things with this (what chill says), and we will simply ban all three keys without care for who is using them, by the way.

only thing i can think of is muleing.. but i've never been a dm and tormak's probably seen more exploited loopholes than i can even think of.

I believe he's saying if you try to break the rules in some way. If you're doing something legitimate (like bringing your CD keys to a mate's house) there's no problem.

Im giving her my spare set of keys from when I bought an extra copy a long time ago. She -has- a physical CD set but lost the manual with the keys. So i'm providing her a set.
Theres no desire to mule, no desire for theft. If theres something wrong going on someone tell me so I can fix it : /

Nah, there'd be no problems with that.

All I'm saying is that the NwN key, the SoU key, and the HotU key are all interchangeable. They work exactly the same, so it's not like he'd be able to use the same key for both himself and his friend at the same time (Gamespy would block that).

I know they are. Previous people have gone "Ooh tee hee they all work ha ha they can't ban me I'm the gingerbread man"
Then we ban all of their keys at once and send them packing.

I think I saw a rule at one point about not having multiple accounts in the same network playing at the same time. Does this still apply? I myself have a sibling who's interested in playing on the server and he's waiting for my confirmation of the rule. Will our CD keys get banned if we try to play at the same time?

You can play at the same time, but you -MUST- fix the ports on your accounts of NWN. Otherwise, you'll get in trouble.
As for fixing ports, super easy.
Find the nwplayer.ini within your NWN directory (On a standard Windows installation, this'll be C:/NeverWinter Nights/NWN/nwplayer.ini). Open it in a word editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. Scroll down until you find this;
[Profile]
Below this, about two lines down, you'll find this;
Client Port=5120
Change that number on each computer to a number between 5120 and 5150. ENSURE EACH COMPUTER HAS A DIFFERENT NUMBER.
And done.

Is the port change to keep people from muling or something? I don't really understand that part of it.

You know when you see the server all buggy where there is PCs that appear as NPCs, you pick up other players party chat and things just completely go wrong with the entire world?
Its because someone has double IPs using the same port.

In reference to losing your CD Keys, there's a utility on the main main Bioware website that allows you to save your CD keys on there for later retrieval if you have lost your manual(s). It's the only reason I'm able to play on Amia at all. Edit: Direct Link (Login Required)
