The buildings remain, but no people. There are no signs of struggle, no blood, no damage to the town at all, aside from a mass of foot steps leading to the cave. Many of the stores have been left behind, books, things of that nature. There are even a few half-eaten meals atop dinner tables. Road Wardens around the Crags report no sightings of a mass migration. The town has simply... disappeared.

A few new faces dot Ceyrenn's Mill. Strangers, but they mostly keep to themselves and out of the way.

On one of his visits to Ceyren's Mill, Tuomas greets the new faces happily, offering heartfelt and happy dialogue, asking if there's anything they need.

He explains though he does not himself live in Ceyren's Mill, he is a somewhat regular visitor.

In Ceyren's Mill a red haired woman bustles about. Sweaty, tired, and a bit dirty she works and still has a smile to offer to the displaced people. Struggling to keep up with the needs of more people then she could possibly help on her own she reaches out to her friends and soon a small troup arives in Ceyren's Mill.

With little delay tents are errected, campfires built, and what food they have already is divided up amongst the people there. Determined to offer every bit of hospitality that she can, Samantha works long hours caring for every need she can, and when she can she naps outside, already having offered up her own home and bed to house mothers and their young childred, the elderly adn the sick. Open too, are the doors to the local academy office, and bedrolls line the floors for any needing the extra shelter.

*A notice is sent to the owner of the logjammer.*

"Dear Sir/Madam

During the fighting and destruction of the Banite Castle near your town, we where forced to burn down the logjammer, and collapse it on the mythal node within'. This was to prevent banites from using the stone as a means of transport. The rubble meant that any who came via the stone rather was trapped under piles of rubble, with no means of getting through, perhaps even dying.

I take full responability for this action, as it was me who ordered it and devised the tactic. I stick by what I did, and I fully understand what this has caused. As such, I am willing to personally put foreward and collect the funds needed to rebuild the logjammer to its former glory, perhaps even a greater glory. This will give us all a chance to recover, and show a sign of happy times ahead.

You may contact me with a quote for building costs via a speedies box in Cordor. My name is Calin Katar.

-Signed
Calin Katar. *There is no sign of association with the War Knights, rather taking the blame personally.*"

Tuomas spends his time over the next while trying to aid the newcomers to Ceyren's Mill, trying to arrange a time to speak with their leader quietly.

The spicy-tongued blonde barkeep of the Singing Sun has been seen going around and chatting with the refugees; she has passed out some ale (though of course, not the expensive stuff) and the still-fresh leftovers of food prepared by their elven cook. She does this around lunch time every day before she goes in to do her chores at the tavern, preparing for that evening's opening. She's sassy, but she jokes with them all, and anyone who has a closer eye would note that she seems to be purposefully trying to cheer them.

Afraid to leave for to long, but worried about the consequences if she didn't do something soon, Samantha packed up every magical bag she had, and left Caraigh for Amia.

Not having much of an idea where to start, and even less training in such things, she made her way to the small town of Bendir Dale, hoping to find some farmer who would have extra food to sell her. Still unsure, and a bit timid, she decided to try Miss Xaviera's advice and talk with the local workers... and so she walked up to the Miller, hoping that the farmers might sell him their extra grains.

After a brief conversation, she left Bendir with empty sacks still, but a little bit of hope could be seen in the smile that hung on her lips. She was off to Cordor to speak with the farmers there.

Working hard through the night speaking with the various farmers around North Cordor, and a blessed meeting with Miss Xaviera who offered the help of The Temple of Love, Samantha made her way back to Ceyren's Mill with a number of full magic bags.

Tired but excited she took some time to unpack the food and distribute the meats, vegetables, fruits and grains among the refugees. Careful not to seem at all condescending she did her best to offer every bit of hospitality she could. After all, in her mind they were now her guests and it was right that she did everything she could to make them feel as 'at home' as she possibly could.

Finally, more exhausted then she’d been in some time, Samantha found a bit of sleep by a camp fire, a small smile on her lips as she knew there wouldn't be any hungry bellies for a while.

The dark woman who has been seen in the village on occasion before, usually in the company of Kaci and/or Jace, visits once more, and happens across the refeugees. Noting the overflowing population, and the relief effort, she decides to contribute. Putting her Journeyed skills as a Big Game Hunter to use, she sets off out of the southeast gate, spear in hand, into the woods.

Image

Some hours later, she returns, dragging a long rope behind her. Tied to it by the feet are four skewered Boar, one of which is especially large. Delivering her prey to the village's butcher, she offers him a few coins to prepare the meat so that it might be shared amongst the townspeople and their guests - and if, possible, the hides be set aside for other use. She takes the tusks of the largest boar for herself, and leaves the butcher to work.

*A letter with Triadic seals arrives to Ceyren's Mill to Foreman Fahr*

Honored Foreman Fahr,

The direct threat of the Church of Bane has been removed. I believe that in a few days, you and the citizens can safely return to Guldorand with the help of our arcanist friends who helped you to get to Ceyren's Mill.
I must inform you that the land troops of the alliance burnt the Logjammer down for tactical reasons. The alliance is of course ready to pay for every damage what we may have caused in the property of the citizens of Guldorand during the battle there.
May the Triad protect you and your citizens in the future.

Sincerely,
Lord Yaston Sylgerand

*Josalynn makes several extra trips to Ceryen's Mill over the course of the next several months to offer songs to those both working so hard, and those who have been displaced.

One song that stands out, mostly due to the requests of the children, she sings with much merriment as she spins and dances through the camp, emphasizing certain verses as she twirls and wriggles fingers at those following along. The song she has titled as "My Favorite Things" *

Humans love dancing, the elves their fine singing
Halflings smoke pipeweed, while dwarves keep on digging
Gnomes always tinkering with nice shiny toys
All favorite things of good girls and boys

When Red Wizards smite
When the orcs chase
When the werewolves howl
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel, so bad

Paladins with great swords and Druids with panthers
Clerics with turn words, monks lightning quick fistes
Rangers with great bears patrolling the trails
Makes for a lot of fantastic new tales

When Red Wizards smite
When the orcs chase
When the werewolves howl
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel, so bad

Ships on the ocean, and wagons on prairies
Streams full of fishes, and woods full of fairies
Skies full of bright stars, all through the night
Knowing that all things will soon be alright

When Red Wizards smite
When the orcs chase
When the werewolves howl
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel, so bad

*She giggles and bows at the close of the song, then continues her spinning and dancing at a seemingly effortless and tireless pace.*

A haunting sight occurs in Guldorand. One woman walks through the ghost town, leading a blind-folded child by the hand. The little boy twists and pulls to try and get free, but he is silent in doing so. The thin air was new to him.
One door knocked open and closed with the howling wind from the mountain pass.
Mynna brought him to the door way and lead him inside.

"You stay here. Do you understand?" No response.
She tied the child's wrist to the leg of an armchair with hemp rope, and crept about the remains of her half-ruined home. The kitchen, was still intact.
A stove barreled from the wall, blackened and overused by various travelers, there were pots and pans on the floor. What paintings she had from the walls, were gone.
The large plant in the corner of the room was shriveled as thin as paper. The rug on the floor was there, but covered in snow and sut. All the knives were gone.
She began upstairs, where would be her bedroom, and the guest room which never kept company anyways.
In the hall above the stairs, she found some of the old paintings. The oil was fading away due to heat, but she could make out a couple of faces upon the floor: Someone burnt poor Chiania's face clean off the canvas, save for her red hair and rainbow-vomit attire. There was a also Mirhun Thinker, undamaged for the most part, smiling even from beyond his grave. The rest were unidentifiable, save for a blonde chap with a crooked smile, of whom may as well been a ghost on paper anyways. She picked their charred remains off the floor and set them on the guest room bed. The bed, soiled with the underside of traveling shoes, and who knows what else. The room's books were mostly all gone too.
Mynna's old room was locked, she toyed with her key chain until she found the right one, and the door cracked open revealing a shockingly untouched hollow, red-dyed mink fur stretched across the old bed, the goose feather pillows; It was not made for sleeping. A bookshelf of old voices, curiosities and memories still stood, not one spine misplaced. Each dust-kissed and unminded by the recent war. Even the stationary, decorated with dried ink wells, falcon-tail quivers and some of Guldorand's finest paper, looked frozen in time where it sat, waiting for her to return. She went into the storage closet, and here there was nothing, the black box too, was missing, which gave her one more thing to worry about, but there would be time for that later. She removed her helm, and axe and laid them on the bed, unpacked some things from before, but was alarmed by the screams of the child. Screams of attention, hunger and fear.
Everyone else whom she had cared for in the town, were gone.

Guldorand in it's seemingly vulnerable state is guarded by Horsemen Patrols that now have routes through Amian forest, again in the Skull Crags and now in Guldorand there can be expected a Horsemen force guarding from looters or those that would cause any lawlessness. Rose in particular while there takes what wood she can gather and logs she can cut and piles them up, ready for use. Once finished piling and prepping the wood the surprisingly accomplished Journeyman carpenter creates a number of table and chair sets, and even joins together some frames for the sides of the inns and any buildings damaged in the destruction and to top it off, no pun intended, a complete roof frame lays in wait for the hired carpenters coming in. Sure to be a pleasant surprise when they arrive to find some of the work already started, as well as benches and saw horses to use in the construction. Everthing she leaves for them is 'very good' in it's quality and sturdy to last the test of time. There is no notes left or signs of who did the work anywhere save a secret little etching of an elegant 'R' that would only mean something to her if found. When she is not hammering or sawing away she's either wiping the sweat off her brow looking around taking in the sights pausing with a liberal drink from her waterskin, or patrolling the area for any that would oppose law or spread lawlessness. Upon the entry of the woman and child Rose would simply nod and get back to work as with any other passers by.

//edit it some on my own initiative scratching out about wood since the rp hasn't been done yet.

Every Horseman in Guldorand is the subject of nasty looks and murmured rumors. There are even mentions of calling Kohlingen and the Eternal Order again to kick out the Horsemen like the Banites, if necessary.

The response is clear. The Horsemen are not wanted.

// stupid nearly noob question, but I usually don't get involved in these things unless I request them or happen to walk into them in game. But do people actually play out these posts in game? Asking because my bard by now would have probably noticed a problem with one of hte trivium portals as it workes with paintings, one being in hte burned in. Love to RP it... but do it I just type it. Sorry for the ooc comment.

Tuomas pays a visit to the Logjammer, seeing the destruction, the sign.

He looks around, perhaps saddened.

~The Wages of War. Tragic.. always.. tragic.. but.. it seems as though the people are free of Banite influence for now at least. ~ he thought to himself.

Visiting promptly after the return, Tuomas looked around and nodded to himself.

~Rebuilding aside, all is well .. These people are safe. Hopefully, they will remain so. ~ he said, seeming to greet a few on his visit but letting them to their settling in once more.

~And yet.. there's so much to be done. ~ he added finally, finishing his visit, by a return to the Monolith in contemplation.

Having already gotten use to the bigotry that by now has no foundation or warrant, the Horsemen still pass through on patrols and at least once a day, Rose can be watched fashioning other furniture from scratch leaving it by the inn. A change has apparently happened in the Horsemen ranks with it's new leadership, even there colors has changed, the color that would be mistaken for drow no longer are seen on there uniform as some are dressed with blue, gold and black with blue and gold being the predominant colors and there uncommon friendlyness and willlingness to help is apparent. Seems as well those of the higher ranks are wearing Red Blue Gold and Black, the Red and Blue being predominant concerning them. Change is most assuredly apparent. The looks they seem to be able to handle with a unprecedented discipline. The Horsemen ranks have there own murmuring and rumors consisting of, "what are they going to do?, lay siege to Guldorand to get us out? destroying a town or it's buildings and displacing it's townsfolk for there own reason they don't seem to be above doing", as they shake there head in contempt. "Who indeed are the villains here?", is about the gist of whats heard by the townsfolk and those passing by.

A blue haired, grey skinned, horned tiefling dressed in fancy white and blue clothing can be seen digging through the rubble of the inn in Guldorand. Only pausing so now and then to sigh as the insult and occasional rock thrown at him by some of the locals, mumbling he should have worn a hood. He's obviously searching for something, passing anything he finds by till he stumbles upon a frame for a painting. Looking at the small remaining piece of canvas he shakes his head and tosses it aside to continue searching.

//Well the trivium portals work with paintings so he's searching for the one of the Inn. Was told ingame just to play this out on the forum, so any dm feel free to rule on this

The painting of the Logjammer in the Triumvir is nothing but scorched ash and an empty frame, and no longer functions.

Having spend most the day digging and regretting not atleast having brought someone to shield him Toag finally stumbles upon a frame that seems familiar. Rubbing the filth off it he finds himself forced to conclude he found what is left of the trivium painting. Cursing under his breath he carefully wraps the remains in a cloth to take with him, pondering possible ways to perhaps restore it to function, though he decided to first and formost have his clothing properly cleaned.

This sentiment wins no hearts in the minds of Guldorand, who, in the midst of their tragedy, are now being labelled as villains and warmongers. The simple logging people grow unhappier every day the Horsemen pass by.

Upon hearing the villagers speak of the Horsemen rumors she stops her daily building of furniture that she's piled up for the inn once it's finished and goes to speak to them. "Surely you missunderstand, I was at the Banite siege the 'villains' isn't the innocent townspeople of Guldorand the title is used to point out those that would destroy your inn and displace you from your homes without even asking. I assure you the Horsemen was against such action it's not like the portal couldn't have been guarded nor even the door to the inn, nonetheless, If they did ask then perhaps my men have the story wrong. But you've never been seen as villians by the Horsemen. An honest days work for honest days pay is honorable and noble and you should be commended for such." Shortly after she goes back to finishing the peice of furniture she's was working with and eventually leaves after a quick look around.

In the Triumvir Toag is hard at work restoring the image of the painting in his own unique way.

Image 1
Image 3
Image 3

(apparently the text in the images is to small to read so here's the full type out. Sorry sorry, first time I've got involved in his manner in a DM event topic. Won't happen again.)

Toag Finnegan sets down the painting easel in the Triumvir, looking past it to the courtyard of the Triumvir approvingly. Then at his ease starts to lay out his painting supplies on a table. Colour sorting the paints, checking the pigments are still suspended properly, ordering his brushes to shape and size and various other tools. Nodding pleased to himself he turns to the canvas again, a simple charcoal pencil in hand as he starts to work on the outlines of a sketch. Working at his ease yet with quick strokes he starts to outline the buildings, pond, bridge and other larger elements. Then he proceeds to draw in the finer detail and the people standing about taking some artistic freedom in the latter. Stepping back he looks between the canvas and the Triumvir a few times, steps back to the canvas and starts changing some details before stepping back again.

"Yes, lovely quite so true!" Turning to the table he starts putting and blending paints on a paint palette. Turning once more to the canvas he begins to wield a fan brush, putting in basic background colours in fast swift strokes, slowly building up the layers till every hue and colour is just right. As he works he starts to sing, the both apparently going well together. "In the winter mountains high, where avalanches roar and frozen lakes sigh. The call of the wind to hear, the howl of the wolves sweet tune to her ear. Wake Auril! Come patroness. Guide me through your crystal woods!"

As he sings he changes to a finer brush and starts to put detail in with colour, filling up and further adding to the sketched buildings. "Silvery goddess of the snow, your shining beauty is the cold. Dress me in your white shawl and awake my fiercest passions. Wake Auril! Proud Northern Goddess, I invoke your strength!"

As time passes, brush is exchanged for brush, colour after colour, layer after layer the painting slowly starts to take form, always his singing accompanying the other art. "Mistress of the Ice, raise the spirit of the cold. Lead your chosen into the chase, arouse our untamed nature. Wake Auril! Awaken the spirit of courage, wake your chosen their will to fight! Goddess of fury, seek your companions. You heard the call of my chant, I summon your might to guide my hand. Wake Auril! Defend your kind and guard them from the hateful hand of the blind!"

He grins as he admires his work, setting in another song as more and more the painting gets fleshed out. "What does the true peace feel like? Asks the boy with a spark in his eye. Know why the Endstorm draw night, is the answer to everything! Taking a step to the world to come, spinning my tales now all around. Freed from the blind man's leash, I swear this Eden is within thy reach! Dancing with the spirits of the snow, in this land so white and fair. Singing love to the Goddess Cold, on my restless voyage so bold! Walking safely in the white embrace, don't know if this is heaven or the lands. Joy of living is no more a mask, the Eden I found will forever last!"

His strokes slow down, his face moves closer to his work as fine details are now added, his brushes becoming smaller and smaller. "Wandering the new lands, my soul has finally found peace. Does it matter that our work is done, as long as I hear the winter storms howl!!!"

Yet another song is set in as now he's working with brushes who's hairs can be counted on his hands, as obsessively he works in every possible bit of detail. "Cold is the winter snow falls down. Mystical lights dance in the sky, to the winds of night! Spell of the north lands fills all my heart. Walk with your upheld head, Her lands with pride!"

Then at last with a laugh and a grin he suddenly starts to add snow, changing the painting from the warm Triumvir before him to one covered in winters white cloak. "There are no words to describe the poetry of landscape. I can feel the true blessing, that the cold shall give! Snows of winter falling on me freezing my weak side. My heart shall be strong, to the ice I stride! Wrath of the winter cloud the horizon! Cover the mountains forest and lakes! Wrath of the winter magical wonder! Frost Maiden's glory, northern might! Crystal the forests ice covers all. Beautiful music chimes in the air, to caress my soul! Enchanting wonder to lift up my soul. Walk on with upheld head, Her lands with pride! There out on great glaciers that wonderful sight. I dance there with the spirits, of the deep blue ice Dance down glacier ways down to the sea ice. My heart still is strong, as on the ice I stride! Wrath of the winter cloud the horizon! Cover the mountains forest and lakes! Wrath of the winter magical wonder! Frost Maiden's glory, northern might!"

He steps back for the last time, laughing aloud at the beautiful winter Triumvir he created, its squire populated solely by beautiful Tiefling women. Quickly he sets to cleaning and packing away his tools as the painting dries a bit. Then carefully he takes the new made painting and carries it off to a safe place to dry and receive the frame he salvaged from the ruined inn at Guldorand.

(Relevant info, lv3 painter job, preform role 129, lore 117. So far he only attempted a minor enchantment to if all succeeds in the end to have the user feel as if having passed through a winter landscape having used the portal. By no means does he think the painting to work already)

Thank you many times over for all the generousity you've shown us through all these times. Consider yourselves welcome in Guldorand.

Jessie Fairechild reads it over when she finds it during her usual tavern off-hour duties, cleaning glasses and tending the ledger and inventory, as usual.

She gets a smile on her face as she reads it. "Eh, that's nice. I'll have to visit 'em up there sometime."

In the Triumvir Toag is hard at work restoring the image of the painting in his own unique way.

(sorry just noticed the links where wrong. Corrected it)

As Toag lovingly (or wrathfully) paints the interior of the Logjammer, attempting to restore it anew, the magic of the place and the paint itself seems to become awash with life. The paint chars and blackens on the page, and a fully painted table falls apart, spattering a blob of still fresh paint onto Toag's clothing. The entire panting becomes burned out into deep browns, reds, and oranges, before the colors swirl around each mother, muddying into a brown black. The paint hardens, and falls off the easel.

Ash.

Don't know who's off here, but I'll type a sequal to whatever you say. Also he just tried to make the image of the painting trying to put nothing more then a cold joke into it leaving the rest to some experts...))

Tuomas pays another visit to Guldorand to see how things are going, but endeavours not to disrupt the goings on.

He does take the time to ponder anything which the Guldorandi seem to lack or perhaps need at current.

A hooded figure entered the Triumvir earlier, walking towards the paintings, and in a charge he dives into it, only to be hitting his forehead into the wall and landing on his neck, paralyzed by the shock he cries out: What the feck!!

A single seemingly small cabin does have life inside of it. A small opague window exposes candlelight but nothing more.
