//All information here is ONLY available to people with access to the Order house in Wharftown unless stated as being PUBLIC. Otherwise you are welcome to read this OOCly.////OOC Note to Members: If you're at the house for a while, leave a Candle outside (I can give you one if needed). It'll let any passers by know who's available The Order of the Free Hand “No paradise, no hell.” Public Notice in Uhm:
The Free Hand has moved it's location to the southern edge of Wharftown for a more neutral ground and close presence to the Temple of Selune. For more details, please contact Vera Sulvanim in Wharftown.
Public Notice in Wharftown: (On the southern most house belonging to Vera Sulvanim)
~~The Order of the Free Hand~~ The Free Hand is dedicated to individual freedom so long as it does not violate local laws or the rights of others. Anyone wishing for shelter, to join our cause, or to speak with someone of the order may knock on the door if anyone is present or may leave a message. Our order is open to any of open mind. We teach many things including but not limited to the monastic arts, meditation, arcane magic, combat skills, etcetera. //(You can OOCly use the memberlist further in this thread so you can send a Tell to potential members who may be inside to hear a knock. The most likely available will be Vera or Drannok)//
Private Notice to Members: To all faithful members of freedom, I apologize for my extended absenses lately and the sudden move to Wharftown. I've had issues in my personal life which have delayed my attention to growing our order. Our move to Wharftown was to bring us on more neutral ground and closer to Cordor. This also puts us close to the Temple of Selune, which is preferrable to the rumour of Sharrans who are operating out of Uhm. I intend to work harder in the coming weeks to expand the order and put together lessons for members and strengthen our ties with our allies. If I'm not present and you have a need, please contact Drannok. Thank you, --Vera Sulvanim

*Following is Vera's first draft of the Order*
//Updates// Updates will be noted here with a date and colour to indicate where changes or additions have been made. /////////////
The following faiths are welcome in the Free Hand: Azuth, Chauntea, Eilistraee, Gond, Helm, Ilmater, Kelemvor, Lathander, Mielikki, Mystra, Oghma, Selune, Shaundakul, Silvanus, Sune, Torm, and Tyr Also: Deneir, Eldath, Gwaeron Windstrom, Hoar, Lurue, Nobanion, Red Knight, and Savras
Faiths not included on this list and those from other pantheons will be welcomed or denied on a case-by-case basis. Any faith or individual who expresses strong arrogance, superiority over others, racism, uncontrollable chaotic tendencies, or the general disregard for the freedom of others will be turned away. Please note that just because a faith hasn't been listed doesn't necessarily mean I believe it showed any of the above qualities. In some cases a faith I didn't list already has a strong presence on isle and already uphold to their own values of freedom.
The Purpose of the Free Hand is: - To establish a neutral training ground for monks or those seeking understanding, wisdom, and freedom. - To teach and share the meaning of freedom among those willing to listen. - To aid any open-minded individual in reaching a state of peace with themselves or their past. - To provide a sanctuary for those attempting to redeem themselves from following an evil or chaotic deity, or to redeem themselves from other past actions. - To provide a ground where one may sit in peace without persecution or harassment for who or what they are, or for their past.
The Purpose of the Free Hand is not: - To provide a haven for criminals attempting to escape the law. - To provide a sanctuary for those fleeing the accountability of their past with no desire to redeem themselves. - To forcefully convert or apply our way of thinking to others.
Restrictions/Limitations on Members of the Free Hand: - Members are NOT restricted from being part of another order or faction. It is actually encouraged for members to join another group in addition to the Free Hand so long as that group does not encourage or command it’s members to violate the freedoms of others. - There is zero tolerance for racism. Members are welcome to their opinion so long as they don’t act upon close-minded and racist ideals. - Members are restricted from the raising of undead beings in areas where such things are unwelcome and banned, such as Amia Forest. The general summoning of undeath is also discouraged and is not to occur on the Order’s property. - Members are not forbidden from talking with factions who actively oppress the freedoms of others as such is necessary for diplomatic purposes. However, members are restricted from actively assisting any order or individual who is violating the rights of others.
Note: While the Free Hand does not openly seek war with any faiths, it is opposed to actions that suppress freedoms. While the Free Hand will not ever officially enter into a war unless openly threatened by other orders or churches, individual members of the Free Hand are allowed to act as they see fit to stop the oppression of freedom outside the Order. Large-scale conflicts involving the oppression of others may draw a greater collective of individuals from the Order against those responsible.

Order Titles:
Sheltered – A guest who has sought out the Order to escape racism, harassment, or their outside reputation (so long as they are not merely using the Order as a place to hide).
Initiate – Any new member to the Order, whether training as a monk or otherwise. Being an initiate is essentially the probation period for new members until they are trusted and known well enough to uphold the freedoms the Order represents. There is no limit to how long one may be an initiate. Those who struggle with the concepts of the Order or their own personal stability will be an initiate for a longer period than others.
Proxy – A non-monastic member of the Order that is dedicated to the ideals the Order represents. They’re responsible only for themselves and upholding the values of freedom. They receive guidance from the monastic side of the Order and are protected by the Knights and Guardians. Proxies are encouraged to seek their own personal balance and peace.
Knight – From the non-monastic side of the Order, Knights, while not being monks, are dedicated to the ideals of the Order and uphold what the Order represents in their own way. They are trusted members of the Order who act of their own accord to protect freedoms as they see fit. They are not given orders, but are offered suggestions or guidance from the Masters.
Counselor – Comparable to the Masters of the Order, Counselor’s are the highest level from the non-monastic side of the Order. They are the most trusted non-monks to uphold and teach the ideals of freedom on the same level as the Masters and may offer guidance and aid as one. Counselors are however not expected to train others in the physical or mental exercises required for monks.
Apprentice – From the monastic side of the Order, Apprentices are those currently undergoing monastic training. They actively train in the usual standards of monks, but also dedicate themselves to the ideals of the Order. One of the first things to be taught to apprentice monks is to not forfeit their own freedoms and emotions for the sake of the Order. They learn and uphold the ideals of the Order while keeping their own personality and unique traits intact.
Adept – From the monastic side of the Order, Adepts are dedicated to the ideals the Order represent, but are only responsible for themselves and upholding the values of freedom. They work on their own personal balance and peace and are offered guidance from the Masters of the Order. Adepts are typically strong enough to protect themselves, but are always welcome to the protection of the Knights and Guardians of the Order if they are in need.
Guardian – From the monastic side of the Order, Guardians are strong and balanced representatives of the Order and the freedom it symbolizes. Freedom walks with them. They actively stop those who would oppress freedoms and commit crimes. This includes but is not limited to stopping banditry on the roads, freeing slaves, protecting others against racism, etcetera. Guardians also watch over those who are new to the Order, those who are interested in the Order, or anyone the Order is currently sheltering. Guardians act of their own accord and are not given orders but may be asked to assist with certain issues.
Master - From the monastic side of the Order, Masters are considered the strongest and most experienced members of the Order. While they act as Guardians, they also actively train the monks of the Order in both physical and mental exercises, and teach and guide all members in the ideals of freedom that the Order represents.
Grand Master – The guide of the Order. The Grand Master organizes the other Masters and Counselors. The Grand Master holds all the same responsibilities as a regular Master with the added responsibility of keeping inventory of the Order’s resources of material and personnel. The Grand Master keeps track of all talents and areas where other members are willing to help so that if someone is in need of aid, the best person can be recommended to assist.

[Internal Notice] //June 22, 2010//
Welcome Nadya Simmons to the Free Hand. With mastery of the sword and shield, she is a dedicated servant to the cause of defending and teaching defense to those who can not defend themselves. She is welcomed as a Proxy.
Please also welcome Katsumi Amne to the Free Hand. A long resident of Amia and experienced monk, she shows wisdom and dedication to the ideals of freedom. She is welcomed as an Adept.
I am very proud of those I've brought into this order. Within three weeks without sending out public advertising of the Order, we now stand eleven strong in dedication to the ideals of freedom with a promising future ahead of us. I soon will announce the Order to the public. I look forward to seeing all those within the Order and the public beyond interacting and providing each other aid and support. --Vera Sulvanim
[Internal Notice] //June 18, 2010//
I want to establish a list of talents that members are either willing to provide or teach. I'd like you all to seek me out when you can so we can talk about this. If you're unable to reach me direct, please leave a message with me including available skills, talents, and resources you're willing to share, and who you're willing to share such with. (The Order only, the Order and Allies, or Anyone in need.) --Vera Sulvanim
Welcome Kimiko Akimi to the Free Hand. She is a very skilled monk and brings more unique knowledge to the Order. She is welcomed as an Adept. --Vera Sulvanim
Welcome Tal'Gyrlass to the Free Hand. He is a herbalist and healer of Salandra. He is welcomed as a Proxy. --Vera Sulvanim
[Internal Notice] //June 17, 2010//

Updates!
Yohirrhil Callindhier is officially welcomed as an Adept of the Order. He is a skilled monk still in training at the moment.
A new alliance is in the works of being started. This is much due in part to the wonderful work of Renais Whiteheart. This alliance would include the Dawnguard, Order of the Mystic Blade, and the Order of the Free Hand. There may also be involvement from the Temple of Love and the Glade Wardens of Caraigh too.
Great things are ahead of us. This new alliance should represent freedom and mutual aid without dictating commandments down to us and disrupting how we operate, but rather opening up many new windows in which we can receive and give help to others.
Lastly, we're discussing a name for the alliance and each group that will be part of it is free to make a recommendation, so if any of you have an idea, send a note to me and I'll pass on the best one at the next meeting. Anyone interested in attending meetings for the alliance let me know as well.
Keep watching the notice board for more. --Vera Sulvanim
[Internal Notice]
I've met today with Renais of the Dawnguard, and there may be some very great things in the future by working together with their Order. I will give more detail later as we develope this. As a matter of assurance on any concerns, whatever details are worked out will put no obligation on any members. This will hopefully though open up many doors for us to help others and receive help as we can give and receive it. I've welcomed Renais to visit the Order house freely and use the facilities, and lent her a key. She has many pressures of her own right now, so greet her welcomingly but allow her peace from questions and such if she is not feeling well.
Secondly, I want to begin spreading out and getting new members if possible. One of my first desires is to get more monastic members to expand that side of the Order, so if you see any trained monks who seem lost, without purpose, or troubled by racism or their past, or monks early in their training that could benefit from assistance and wisdom, please let me know who they are and feel free to tell them about the potential aid the Order can give without any obligations on them. Let them know how to contact us in Uhm if they need help or through Morgan and Son's boxes since I have an account with them. Please keep in mind that many monks, especially those early in their training, can have a narrow focus on their own dogma or causes. It should be easy to tell if they are going down a path that would be inappropriate to our Order. This could also mean too that even if their ideals are compatible with us, that they may have trouble accepting the idea of the Order. If you feel any resistance, please let them be and inform me of who they are if possible so that I may try.
Lastly, I also want to work on non-monastic members. Reserve this for now to people you know well and trust. Keep in mind too that anyone that could benefit from some monastic training, whether simple like meditation to more complex would also be welcome, so long as the ideals of the Order are upheld. Thanks all, --Vera Sulvanim
[Internal Notice]
Kell Ap' Morgan seems to be around again. Many may know that he has been involved in Sharran activities, but he has supposedly been able to break himself free of this. He seeks now to redeem himself. I told him that if he was sincere, I would offer my help. I would ask that no one take out any debt of vengence on him unless he proves he's still under Sharran influence. Everyone deserves a second chance. If you have any questions, let me know. --Vera Sulvanim

a note is sent publicly, though adressed to Vera.
Vera; I am interested in your order. Though my husband and myself are generally loners, I would like to assist as I am able.
Katsumi Amne.
