Can someone tell me what I may be doing wrong at the Scribe's desk? I'm trying to add a linebreak to the bio of an item... the job description says:
Job Description wrote:
* Type ds_j break" This adds a line break at the end of the current description.

... but it doesn't seem to be working the same as any of the other shout commands that I've used at the Scribe's desk. Am I goofing it somehow, or is it maybe glitchy or something?

Needs to be done in the SHOUT channel.

I am doing it in the Shout channel. I should be clearer... I can successfully use all of the Scribe job Shout channel commands except the one that is supposed to add a line break.

It only breaks one line. I believe that if you type the command twice, it will actually skip one line.

As is now, you just write in the line immediately below. If you are looking for a space between lines, I think you type it twice.

I should be clearer again. :)

I'm pretty sure it's not that the command is doing something that I just can't see... it's that the system isn't accepting the command at all. I get "[Error: wrong command]" when I try to enter the command as cut-'n-pasted above.

Aha! I've figured it out, I think... the command on the job description page is...

ds_j break"

... but what I've actually gotten to work is...

ds_j break '

To be clearer, what I have gotten to work correctly is the word break, followed by a space and then a single quote mark... not what's given in the job description, which is the word break, followed by no space and a double quote mark.

Maybe this should be moved to the "Improving Amia" forum? :)

Then you are probably a Banite, and I probably like making you cry. :)

Well, Lizzie... I saw it as well, and my eyebrows raised a bit. I must say I find it very funny if you play a Banite yourself, though.

If I want a line break all I do is "/s ds_j append ". Just add an extra space to the end of that. Works like a charm.

EDIT: Oh, and do it twice.

... I say Lizzie is a Triadic also. Pffft. EO is so left behinde. Anyhow, I also have no idea how to get the Scribe thing to work, either.

Once you have a rank in the trade, put a job-system-made item on the scribe's desk and while its inventory is still open, put in the chat sommands in the shout channel. For a list of those commands, you can just close the scribe desk and it has them listed in the dialog.

As for line breaks the single quotation isn't necessary, but there is a space needed after the word "break" for it to work.

Yeah... the "break" command isn't on the list that pops up. Name, Bio, and Append are there, but not Break.

Then I still maintain that the instructions on the Scribe page of the Job System info is typo'd, and needs to be fixed or clarified.
