I don't know what happened but after I've migrated to Win7 x64 and installed NWN it worked. Now, for some unknown reason, it bloody doesn't. When I start the launcher and choose to launch the NWN game... it doesn't. Launching NWN.exe doesn't do anything at all too. The process gets killed in no time. No error messages, no anything. NWNMAIN.exe starts in a fullscreen mode and freezes my PC (and I configured NWN to run in windowed mode). What's going on?

How are you starting it? I have 7 x64 and I have to go into the Computer ---> NWN---> Main and start it that way.

I've tried everything. Launching it via Start->All programs->Games->Neverwinter->Neverwinter Nights, x:\games\Neverwinter\nwn.exe | nwmain.exe | nwloader.exe... I don't have a clue what is wrong because it worked two weeks ago. I've tried launching it with an admin user, with a normal user with elevated privileges, with compatibility set to launch as admin && launch as WinXP app. Nothing worked.

Whoa, wait a minute. It worked somehow. I've done lots of tweaks and it worked. Dunno what setting in particular made it go, though... :shrugs: I guess that's lottery.

Myself last time I had an issue with it not running, and yes this is technology stupid...

I did a search on the folder for all .exe files and just started running every .exe there was (except for uninstall of course) and /something/ fixed whatever my issue was.

Yes... this is like hitting a fish bowl with a hammer to repair a crack. Heck if I knew what I was doing.

But hey, it's working on Win7 now for me.

I ran straight from the exe using WinXP compatibility and it works fine for me.

Make sure you patch to 1.69 with the critical build patch, running it as an admin.

That is all you must do.

After I installed windows 7 it, I must run NWN in administrative mode whenever I run it, try that.

Edit - Beat to it :)
