People of Amia and the Surrounding Isles:

As you may well have heard by now, the small fishing community of Uhm was recently set upon by a band of drow and their demonic allies. Though there were few casualties on the defensive end, much of the village still bears remnants of the assault. Much of the villagers'fishing and farming equipment was laid waste to, gardens destroyed, homes broken into and ransacked. Still, the people of Uhm strive to return their small community to some semblance of normality.

They are a humble, yet proud people, these neighbors of mine. As such, they've not cried out for assistance, like many others would have by now. Still, they struggle on, trying to cope with their losses as they can. I see a battered, yet not beaten people in these, my neighbors. I watch in awe as they struggle to rebuild, neighbor lending aid to neighbor, doing the best they can for themselves and for each other in these most trying of times.

The same spirit I see in these people in the aftermath of the insidious attack resides in many of us, the Community of Amia. It is in this spirit I write this petition to you, our neighbors of the isles. These people - my neighbors and yours - need our help. They give to each other what they are able, but they need so much more.

My request is simple. Many every-day items are sorely needed in Uhm, ranging from simple clothing and food items, to fishing nets, hoes, and crop seedlings, as well as furniture, lumber and stone to repair homes, fences and walls. If you have an abundance of any of these, more than you or your family needs or can use, please think of the people - adults and children alike - of Uhm, and let them know they have not been forgotten. Let them see their neighbors feel their losses and know their suffering.

At this time, no monetary "gifts" will be accepted as part of this Restoration Drive. However, if you wish to be so crass as to toss your excess coinage to the people of Uhm and assume everything will be all fine and dandy because of your oh-so-gracious "donation", please feel free to remit such a sum to the mayor.

In other words: Money isn't everything. Make an effort to show you really care.

Weston hopes that these notices are being viewed by whomever put them up in the first place, as he tacks a notice to one at Kampo's.

Daniel sighs and is almost disappointed when he sees the notices.

"I remember attempting to auction a Pocket Golem a year or two ago, trying to raise funds to help increase Uhm's defense and militia power even after some donation of gold. Back then, very few participated on the auction and not enough gold was raised, not to mention those that thought my intentions ill simply because, back then, Uhm was in no apparent need of gold. People really need to go through disgraces to actually see reason to help anything or anyone. The younger races can be so selfish sometimes..."

After saying that to himself, Daniel writes a notice, leaving it at Uhm's board.

I am a full-fledged carpenter. If you are in need of furniture, I will be spending some time in Uhm from today on.

My services were always free of charge and they are no different now.

Seeing this, Tuomas nods to himself and makes ready to donate in more suitable forms.

Fashion and Arts DeLorai will make simple clothing for the people as well as donate twenty bolts of fine silk and wool, ten bolts of high quality cotton, and fifty bolts of beautifully done leather to the people of Uhm. The town has the full resources of my firm behind it in hope that through our aid we can help these people in their time of distress just a little bit.

Thank you all for the care and concern you've showed so far. If you wish to coordinate drop-offs of donations, I can be reached here in Uhm most days. Let's all work together in this for the welfare of the Uhm villagers.

I am looking for suppliers of bolts of woolen cloth, pine planks, oak planks, ash planks and yew planks in any amounts.

Those carrying or able to provide me such, can do so in any amount they might have. I will be paying for them, of course.
