Earlier today, several Emerald Totems started popping up out of the ground at various points throughout the isle. Commoners in the major cities are gossiping quite a lot about their sudden appearance.
"I heard they pointed to the deep forest. I would have gone if I wasn't working!" "My brother's friend's aunt told him that it was at that isolated greenish lake in the forest." "I tried to steal the gems off the totems... They were rock solid! Coulda been so rich too."
It can be gathered that these happenings led to the Green Lake within Amia forest. Some adventurers were there to witness several totems surrounding the body of water, all pointing toward the center of the lake. Several hours later, the totems all disappeared back into the ground whence they came.

Shriarra, the drow in blue had been there too. Along with a group of adventurers, they sat and waited... And explored, and waited some more! There was another drow, as well. He asked that a song be written about him, should he fall to whatever fate might come. Nothing happened... so he went home, songless!

Tristan went to the green lake. What he found was ...Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He preformed a scry for magic, trying to detect what had happened to the lake... But found nothing.
Absolutely nothing. The lake was ...Empty. While there was water in it still, there was nothing -in- the water. Curiously, he took a sample and bottled it and went to find the nearest alchemist.

Josalynn, being the curious bard that she is, decides to go have a look upon hearing some of the rumors.
After she arrives at the lake, she looks around a bit, seeing nothing from the shore she pauses a moment in thought. "Surely there is more to this" she muses to herself. "This has got to be some kind of ..... invitation?"
With that she slips on her gills ring [or crab helm, i forget which one she has] and dives into the lake, determined to see for herself what it is all those totems had been pointing at.

Jair, curious as to the rumors running around Cordor, decides to take a walk. He travels deep into the woods until he comes upon the Green Lake nestled in the swath of trees. Nothing seems unnatural so he walks the edges of the lake several times, admiring its beauty and singing softly to himself all the while. After a few more laps he concludes that rumors are just that, and sits on an old log near the shore and fashions a fishing pole out of an old branch and some string. Grinning he says "might as well make use of the walk" as he sits, eyes close and singing, fishing on the banks of the green lake.

After seeing the large statue resembling what looked to be an Emerald Golem in the forest facing west she followed it's gaze until coming to the lake surrounded by simular statues were several other adventurers looked over the peculiarity as well. One thing of note is the statues all focused on one spot of the lake. Devlin found a boat which he and Stormy had to drag off the dock, they then placed it in the water. Fearing something may happen Stormy found and placed her Gills ring on her finger. Kadri the mage that was with them, as Devlin rowed them out over the lake, was coaxed by Tellos shouting from shore to cast a hellball and she did just that ignoring Stormy's facial expressions and warnings not to. Stormy's efforts was fruitless. The next action to be witnessed by any lookers on was Sadri unleashing a hellball whilst they were still on the lake. The waves the spell caused made the boat capsize dumping all three in the water. Kadri immediately headed back to shore. Devlin struggled, as his armor filled with water, to find his gills waterbreathing ring. Eventually he was able to get his ring on before he and Stormy reached the bottom. One thing that seemed to strike Stormy as odd is the fact there was no signs of life at all in the lake, not your normal expected fish swimming or anything absolutely nothing. As Stormy swam in front of Devlin he walked the bottom. They searched but to no avail, eventually they both returned to shore. Sadri after having a short exchange of words with Stormy concerning Sadri's idiocy parted company. Having exchanged names on the boat and once on shore learning of one anothers bardic interests, Devlin and Stormy decided to head on over to Mayfields inn. In days to come Stormy still investigates the site regularly to see if anything has changed, or if the statues have returned.

An earthquake was felt across the isle today, when a large rock face was collapsed north of the Green Lake. It's rumored a small antechamber has also been opened. Adventurers can be seen camping around the ruins.

Shalwyn with Serion, Idan, Jair and Ghostie went to investigate the chamber and after several hours without knowing what to do, Idan left to find Sundyr. Sundyr came and tried diverse spells on the only item with some magic in the room. The spells bounced back. Shalwyn tried to move the tablet and it threw her across the room, she hit the wall and broke her neck. They raised her and continued to investigate. Nothing seem to have damaged the tablet. Shalwyn shot an enervator arrow, a charge of negative energy that wouldnt kill a person, but it bounced back at her with such power that killed her in one shot.
Force didn't work at all, neither did the spells of the druid Tristan and the mage Sundyr. Sundyr and Ulrik left to study the subject further, but they were all puzzled and with many theories. No answer.... as yet...
However, one thing did made the tablet react... But they are not talking about it besides between the twitterleaf involved and the Weave Knights.

Out on Ruathym, a mage relaxes peacefully, and recalls an earlier conversation. Of a sort.
"The island must work together... danger follows. The next week is important." Spoke a disembodied voice, heard by one alone. "I know, I know. . ." One mustached mage replied softly. "Then, what are you going to do?" A disembodied reply... The sound of a sigh, "I do not know. If you can not tell me of the peril..." "No! No! No! No! No! No! Can't! Can't! No! No!" Frantic in reply, one disembodied voice. "Damn you, I know..."
Yet the morning is early, and Ulrik is still not fully recovered from his "observations." Time... there is still time. Time before dawn. There being little he can do until he is rested, he simply falls back into a relaxed sleep, his wife in his arms.

::Tristan can be seen camping around the Ruins north of the green lake. He's frequently discussing and trying spread light over the recent findings; as he attempts to puzzle up the picture::
::With him, he has a few copies of the report he requested from Toumas Valo, The gnome from the monolith. In the report; there were findings of Heavy metal poisoning in the green lake, Not enought to kill the fish, but enought to cause a blance shift and disturbance in the lake and most likely it's the reason the entire lake is empty of life::

There have been reports of attacks in Amia forests. The attacks are known to happen quickly and without much warning. Arrows sticking out of trees can be found sprinkled throughout the forest. (Lore DC 50: You are absolutely sure that you have never seen nor heard of the markings on these projectiles)
Meanwhile: The tablet in the ruins has been steadily begun to glow with a -very- faint white light. It pulses in a rhythm that is impossible to pin down.

Isen can be seen wondering around the forest. He looks at the arrows to make sure they are then same as before and checks to see how many throats were slit.
"Perhaps my warning that I told people went without much care. Suppose this is my fault."
If he spots any rangers or druids he attempts to speak with them over the attack if they saw any of the creatures or not.

Nysor is in the area regularly, as always, though the arrows are certainly new to him. (He fails all lore checks) He has not a clue what the arrows are, barely able to discern any markings on them whatsoever, much less identify them with anything else.
The attacks, however, are truly concerning, and take more precedence. He now knows this is a lot more serious than he at first thought, and looks to get involved in its solution more readily.

One mustached mage might be seen amid the ruins, digging, studying, and muttering to himself, his blue crystal-balled adorned stave in hand.
He was sure to scoop up one of the arrows as he passed through the forest, after giving it a speculative once-over.
Seeing the arrows, and hearing of the attacks, Ulrik is not seen without a celestial golden wyrmling resting about his shoulders or fluttering about near him, nor is his panther familiar far from his side and he is no doubt shrouded in the minimum protective spells.
Most concerning to him, it may seem, is the pulsating rhythm. Speaking with any in the area, he is quick to posit that he believes the rhythm a countdown. Leading to what, exactly, is what seems to perplex the Mystran mage the most.
He does not seem to linger, however. His every action a purpose to it. Once he is finished, he simply departs via ley-line portal.

"Alright, lets move! I need a perimeter set up now!" shouted Serion as he waved an arm over his head in a circular motion. He stopped shortly after as the hustle and bustle of Elven militia reacted behind him. He viewed the corpses of the strange creatures- So many of them. 'Why were they here?' He knew what the Shaman said, but he still sensed an ulterior motive, perhaps beyond the creature's understanding. No matter. They would still need to protect the tablet until further information arrived.
He winced as he tried to double back to the chamber, having taken an arrow to the side. He might have asked for healing if it were any other time- but he knew, as did the remaining of Armathora, that they would need to save their spells for strictly dire circumstances. For now, his healing needed to be mundane. Serion spent his time religiously checking the bodies for survivors, placing a merciless arrow into the chest of those still unfortunate to be alive.
The elven bowman leaned against the tree taking his position as forward scout, as the remainder of the Armathora, (And some warriors of other allegiances), tried to relax in the antechamber. Their resources would be absorbed trying to secure the surface. While the antechamber was limited to one entrance, making it easier for the defenders to keep their numerical advantage- it also meant that there was only one escape. If they could hold it, the /would/ hold it. But if they couldnt... it'd be a trap that would claim their lives. Secretly, Serion hoped for the unlikely reinforcements of the occasional adventurers or the timely return of the Weave Knights. He could feel the pulsing "Countdown" of the tablet looming over the ruins. With every beat, it felt more and more like a slow war drum, a steady beat for the endless hordes of creatures.
"I'm in over my head..." he spoke quietly to himself, "But when am I not?"
So much carnage. So much chaos. So little answers.

Shalwyn went to investigate the entire situation and is ambushed by an army of orcs speaking infernal. She fell to the army that got her by surprise and later raised by the elves that were investigating the place. Arronax had captured an orc for interrogation, but more orcs kept coming and even though hurt she fought at Serion, Elcyon, Mith, Arronax, Nysor, Tristan, Qirlan and other's side. After, a long battle against the orcs, they won the battle and captured another orc for interrogation. Questions were made, but very few answers were given.
The Orc died in front of their eyes and the only word that came out of his mouth was freedom.
The theories are many but what to do with what we know now, which of the two ways we suspect will we follow?

In a candle-lit office at the Mystran Monolith, Ulrik sits, looking over a mysterious shard chanting a spell softly. At its conclusion, there is a heavy sigh.
"It is definitely ancient elven. And, it was certainly broken. Though, by whom or what, is a good question. And, what was it doing in Kohlingen?" He murmurs softly in the quiet room.
"One countdown ended. More to come. Three, at the least." He added, to no one in particular in the empty office, still but for the occasional flicker of candle-light which reflected oddly off the blue-crystal ball that adorned his staff. He sighed softly, and withdrew several sheets of parchment. A dip of quill to ink, the sounds of scribbling, and the flit of a wrist and the fine coating of sand to parchment. Soon after, a few letters were sent out from the Mystran Monolith.

*Shalwyn receives a message and sits on the camp with it in hands and shows it to Serion.*
I am not sure of what the elves will think about it. But, at least now it is in an elven hand. That gotta help something.
*She, Serion and the elves that now support the Winya guard in the protection of the Winya Ravana while trying to investigate the Orcs and protect the mages on their research are easily seeing walking from the ruin to the forest, then back than from the ruins to the Nexus Falls in an organized patrol route.*

*Any near the greenlake may see and inquistive looking Calin walking about the area. He looks at the lake, looks to the inlets, and simply nods. He walks to the edge of the lake and taps his chin as he spills thoughts to himself, dismissing silly thoughts and coming to a logical theory based on common sense and tactical know how.*
"The inlets are blocked, orcs have attacked Winya and the lake is drying up. Pillars have appeared around the isle, and I have no idea what these are or do so they are not of concern to me, so dismiss that from any conclusion. Orcs hate elves, but they are not suicidal, they have never attacked winya before and attacking Winya now is still suicidal, something is provoking them. Be that an elf or whoever is trying to keep the area and the elves away from the Lake. The best way to solve this is to capture the orc chieften and question him."
*Calin nods to himself and taps his chin absently again, returing to thought*
"Now thats done, the next step is to figure out why dry out a lake by blocking the inlets? The lake holds no tactical value, it feeds no populace, not even the forest really as there are other sources of free flowing water nearby. It serves no tactical purpose to dry this lake up. Thus, there is only one logical conclusion, and that is that someone wants something at the bottom of this lake. The history of this area would probably show what that is, and possibly who it is that wants it. The only way for this to be solved is to go down into the lake now, and check if anything is at the bottom. The alternative is to wait to see if other actions are taken."
*He nods again and rubs his hand along his goatee*
"It makes sense I suppose, given the orcs would be a perfect distraction for the elves invistigating. Still, what do the pillars do and why did they pop up? The reason for this is likely located in whatever is wanted in the lake. The bloody water could possibly be from the damming of the inlets. It's not uncommon for orcs to dam things using corpses of creatures they have killed. Even creating barricades to fight behind. This could be a logical reason for the water tasting of blood, then stopping.
I'm sure people will figure this out on their own, if anyone wants my opinion they can likely come find me."
*And with that Calin simply turned and walked off. Seeming staisfied with his explanation of events. He wondered to himself as he walked off if he would be right. He'd have to check up was the situation is resolved.*
//Calin musings would have been very easy to hear by anyone in the area, and he wouldn't have made any effort to hide anything he did.

Tristan the druid is close around, and nods as Calin muses. But his interest is not that the Elves are faring ill, he is worried about the lake and the supplies of fresh water.
He shrugs his shoulders, maybe the portal to the Plane of water shouldn't have been there in the first place, it messed with balance.

Shalwyn against the advise of Serion and the others, stubbornly retraced the steps of the orcs that lead her to the north shore of the Green Lake. Arriving there, she saw that the lake was even drier than before. She sighed and since the tracks didn't go around but disappear she jumped in the lake. Soon she was followed by Niss'assa Is'def, Serion Cyclops, Madrik, Arronax and they inspected the entire lake. Nothing.
When they rose from the water, noises came from the south, but were only fishes.
She went back to the North Shore, they started a camping there and guarded the lake for hours and nothing happened, only the water was noticeable lower.
Madrik inspected the lake and identified that all living thing inside the lake avoided the North area. Whatever was happening came from that area. But, what was happening?
The question puzzled all involved, it seems that the story was played in a way that they could only wait and defend and for those like Shalwyn that had no heart to wait but to burst, to hit, to take risks that would bring about a solution for so many questions, the entire ordeal became a source of frustration.
But, the tiny elf, with her bow, marched into the chamber and screamed at the Tablet, asking it for an answer. The tablet remained silent, no answer, no sign, no nothing.
When she was finally back in Winya, a smile appear on her face. Eleanor had built a protection around the Lifestone. Death wards and other wards that would keep any creature from touching it. She sits in the ground looking at it, looking at the face of all the elves and her heart became swollen with pride and love. She promised inside her mind and heart that none, while she breathed would hurt them, ever. Because those were her People, the Tel'Quessir of Winya Ravana and no one would ever touch one of them without paying the righteous price for it. She swore revenge on the Orcs for all the guards they killed and from that point on, she would hide by the north shore of the lake waiting for something to happen, waiting for the army of orcs or whatever were controlling them. Moved not by anger, but by love. Her heart settled on the mission that no Winyan elf would fall to an orc ever again.

::Willow and her pack of wolves travel the area, noting as many details about the changes happening as possible. She then secured the area, before heading off to patrol another area of the forest::

The Lake's water level has dropped drastically in the past few days. It is now nearly halfway empty. There seems to be several outlets in the south portion of the lake, leading away to the sea.
Experts believe that if this trend continues, the lake will be empty within the week.
In a supposedly unrelated occurrence, those exploring the Green Lake/Ruins area are bound to feel mild tremors underfoot every once in a while.

Nysor walks around the Greenlake as he has of late, eventually coming along an outlet. He looks down it, then walks back to a tree and leans against it, thinking:
"...Leads somewhere, Might not even be important." He leans off the tree and ventures back over to the stream. "Huh, well, Nothing ventures is nothing gained."
He hops into the outlet, attempting a trudge to see where it goes.
..........................
To his surprise, the current quickly pulls him down into the lake water! He struggles for a bit, then realizes he had left a certain ring on his finger. The "gills" provided him safe passage down the out let... Where he erupted into the bay of Uhm.
...Many *grumbles* and *pffts* later, Nysor pulls himself to the shore.
"That was crazy."
A new road had been traveled.

Shalwyn seems to have disappeared from the lake vicinity or any of her usual patrol area. She seems to keep for herself in Winya or the forest. When asked about it, she only says.
When the time comes to send the immortal back to sleep, I will be there. I am not necessary right now, it is mostly wizardry mystery anyway.

The lake is now getting dangerously low. Only about 10 feet of water is remaining in the lake. The tremors continue to continue, with greater force even than before.

After having kept a watchful eye over the lifestone she is satisfied that now the Winyan guards are more than up to the task of allowing preventing such damage that had already been done. Confidant that the shame they had been put through will cause them to redouble their efforts for the future. Now Eleanor is there, she has her own thoughts on the entire matter and has her suspicions about what will happen when the lake runs dry. She will be there when the last few feet are almost gone and she will wait with those who she can gather, even if it only comes down to her modest self and her Ruby by her side.

Rain pours onto Serion's steel helm, dripping from the edge of his visor, sliding along the bottom lip. His eyes move slowly, giving a wide arch of vision across the falls. The archer crouches atop the Fall's peaks, gripping the soaked dirt of the cliff edge with a single powerful hand, for balance. He screwed up. The Armathora was in shambles, leaderless- The artifacts gone. At least most of them. He knew only one thing for certain: Now was a /very/ bad time to be an Orc. All of his anger, all of his hatred would be poured into every arrow- every swing of his axe.
There will be blood..
And Serion will be covered in it.

The lake is empty, the pillar in the middle destroyed. Rumors are abound that a great creature made its way out of the lake and went on a rampage around the island. Then burrowed in the vicinity of Wyrmhold.

Calin was present for the battle. He witnessed the immense beast that burst free from the pillar. He saw thought the beast personally, along with Derk, and bring battle to it. To him, he felt as if he was the only one doing any real damage to the beast. Most of his hits bounced of the armor plating, but a few got through, and when they did he left garish wounds in the beasts hide. As the beast fled he realised the desperasion of the task, he drew on his true strike potions to allow him to hit the beast multiple times with terrible blows, shattering plated armor with every attack. But eventually, after 20 bottles, he was unable to aid greatly, and the beasts healed the wounds away. As if to signify that he was done in the battle, the creature seemed to recognise that the damage being done was coming from Calin, as well as a few others, and turned on him everytime battle was joined. Eventually Calin had to retreat, and could only watch and warn as he followed the beast through the isle of Amia to the ruins of Wyrmhold.
Their he watched the creature bury itself amongst the dirt, and into the heart of the earth, disappearing beyond his sight. A little later, while Calin was checking on Cordor, a flash erupted from within' Amia forest. Calin rushed to the site, thinking his worthy adversery was present. However, the creature was not there, and so he stayed a time to puzzle the question of the tablet, but eventually he grew weary and left that place as well, heading for his temple.
