I am requesting a faerie from dm team and they said that rememberer would more preferably be pc character.

taken from faerie race info post by Nekhy:
"Rememberer
A Rememberer is a single individual who has utter power over the fey who follow him. Casting one’s lot with such a being can be a very good decision, or a very bad one. On one hand, the being will seek to preserve itself and thereby the fey beneath him, but if the Rememberer so chooses, the fey can be destroyed on a whim. Most often, fey take a Rememberer as their cynosure out of ignorance or desperation."

pm me for details if you are interested. of course I don't want that the rememberer will destroy him during the first hour. I want to get to play my fey you know.

Out of curiosity, what's a rememberer?

In short a Rememberer has as much powers over his fey charge, as a deity has over it's cleric. Rememberer says die, fey dies. Rememberer can also bring fey back from death, by wanting them back. (Pretty much like a wizard's fey familliar really.)

And IMHO, giving that sort of power to a player you don't know very well, isn't the smartest thing in the world. It's bound to end badly, I think. Better give it to someone you trust instead.

The potential abuse of this makes me say "No way jose"

Well it also means that as long as the rememberer is alive the fey can never really die. It does fit well with the whole no permanent death thing so I don't see a problem ?

I think WonWon is referring to the fact that the PC rememberer can just say "Die now" and the fey cannot do anything about it.

Well, I should think players are perfectly capable of making an agreement on the matter beforehand, and taking that conscious "risk".

If you think about it, the risk is part of the point of it all as well like iron said.
If the pacts are indeed made out of ignorance or desperation it would make sense that they may/would have to deal with the consequences as well, such as being forced to do things under the threat of dying.
Course maybe you'd just get lucky and find a "nice" rememberer~

Umm, just a thought here, I've had a fey for three years almost, there's much. More to it thAn just hazing a remberer. I think either iron or the nehky made a very nice detailed post about it. It will also give you many good tips on playing such.

I'm far more concerned about "live now", or "Be Here Now", or "Become This Now", and so on and so forth. Which I've seen utilized with Fey PCs before.

Naturally anyone trying to do such a thing would ask everyone in the area for permission, as it'd fall under DnD permission rule thingy, if it's to be used at all.. If not, it's against the rules and such, which is naughty.

It'd actually come under Metagaming alot, when you think about it, and how it will be used.

Despite the awesome RP it might create, Wonwon has a point. It would be easily metagamed. Especially if the Rememberer were in a secret area where his/her Fey buds couldn't be IC'ly.. Or do they teleport there?

I have made this thing open again, and I publicly apologize to the first guy for getting his hopes up. Pretty darn good offers I have received, SO KEEP THEM COMING!

I am currently yet requesting the fey, so there is no rush. waiting for the reply from dm team.
