Not sure where to start, but let's start here. Don't vote if you didn't update your amia.hak file (http://www.amiaworld.net/hak/amia_a.rar ).

I am looking for connection issues, not installing issues.

The first three options are if you simply don't had any substantial connection issues, and still don't have them since the hak went in.

The second trio is the interesting one. Did the HAK change you Amia experience?

The last group is basically the control group to see if it's OS connected.

I assume that no connection issues have been solved by adding the HAK, btw.

I'll call it an issue for the sake of voting - it connects really slowly. And I mean excessively, more than even my slowest internet would dictate.

I noticed no difference at all. And I dare say that whatever difference there is can either be explained by a slow connection or computer which have to shovel a bit more data, or when it doesn't work at all, by the inability of the person to install the HAKs correctly.

I've had zero difference since it's been put in. I log in just as well as I have in the past.

Well, I assume you did update amia_a.hak? Do you have this also when you login to Amia B? Does it happen with Direct Connecting? Did you download the test module and does it happen there as well?

Since when has a HAK -ever- resulted in connecting issues? (Connecting issues other than those caused when you don't actually have the HAK, and simply can't connect at all because of that)

I never got the test module, I did download the update for the hak, and it only happens on A, when double-clicking, direct connecting or travelling from B.

It is less when there is less people in the server for sure. Yesterday night, full server, I had mean lags, I was disconnected and I couldn't log in. Then, later when there were around 57 players. I logged and it was fine.

It is too slow to connect and somehow gamespy isn't liking me much either. I dont know if it is the Hak though. Since I installed it what two to three days ago and I only had problems last night.

That one seems unrelated to the HAK, if so.

Gamespy is known to act upp occasionally. Happens to me as well, although not very often.

I've had some extra crashes on login, and during gameplay. Not a constant thing, but a few, which is more than the 'none' before.

As far as 'connection'. I've not noticed any problems directly connecting except for the ocassional short term lag but there were only a couple that felt.. 'abnormal' in the past week, and those could have just been DM's doing stuff in the client for all i know.

They all seem to be triggered by nwmain.exe in itself or in ntdll.dll.

No connection problems, but Ping was above 1000 on B, with less people on and above 2000 on A, with full server.

Also, in both servers my messages typed were sent with a delay of a couple of seconds. They didn't appear rightaway as they normally would have.

EDIT: Actually, every action taken did not happen rightaway. They all delayed a couple of seconds. Not too long to be annoying, but enough to be noticeable.

EDIT 2: Typing every letter was also delayed.

EDIT 3: The longer I stood connected, the laggier it got for me. Amia Abroad, with 28 players.

EDIT 4: I take back what I said. It got better and lag-less after some ten minutes. Might have been something on my end. -.-

I have never seen it go past about 200 ping. That suggests the server is really having troubles with something.

It's also possible it's client side issues with that instance and not the server.

If you've not seen the servers ping go above 200, that's good.

Lower ping = less latency = better interwebz.

Ping doesn't really measure load, tho.

Done any packet captures to see what's happening?

Despite mentioning the Ping, I always thought it was something playerside. What scared me was that my Ping never went above 250 on A at full times and 130 on B.

If I am not too tired when I get back home, I will try connecting again to see if the Lag is still happening.

That aside, though, really no problems with the connection to GS or DC.

This should be something easily determined by the server admin.

Have you contacted Magnum about this?

I did not have problems to connect today, even on A, with the server at 55. No lag either, yet, anyway.

My problem too appears to have been temporal. Must have been a coincidence that it occurred when the haks were introduced.

Actually, if it's net filtered, the common ports, 80 for example, would be context filtered, not just port blocked.

What happens when you do the following REP? You can do one now, and then wait until you see the issue (reproduce it) again and do the same. Copy and paste the results in a PM to both Disco and myself.

1.) Open a command line (assuming your using windows, go start-->start menu ---> command prompt)

2.) Type in the following "tracert 64.25.87.18"

I didn't think that had happened yet. I tried to look it up, but every source I could find (such as wikipedia) seems to think it hasn't.
