An umber hulk can be seen carrying a body all the way from the Valley of the Arachnid to the swamps.

The man who can be recognized as Mathan Wayne was beheaded and placed with his skull helmet intact on a pike overlooking a hill in the swamplands. The helmet was branded with the symbol of the Black Hand. It is clear that she made no attempt to unmask this person.

The following note was left on his person, tucked securely under his body, so it wouldn't have blown away, but is likely damp.

"The Black Hand does not tolerate espionage. As part of the resolve to ensure that those actually understand and heed the Black Hand's warnings, this corpse represents what will happen if the Velsharan do not pay their debt for their heretic acts.

This is not an invitation for war, merely an act of the Black Hand ensuring everyone that hiding in any type of sanctuary to avoid the closing grip of His iron gauntlet will not free you of His divine wrath.

I encourage Nathanos to reconsider his decision and pay up the gold, and no doubt, this message should indicate that we're not fooling around. May the Black Hand have mercy on your souls, and may you find your senses and settle this before it escalates any further.

On one of his walks from his home to Cordor, Calin notes the message and shakes his head.

Sometime later the note gets company as a painting appears in the same place. The painting, in a very child-like and naive manner, pictures an armored man undoubtedly Bane and an undead lich fighting one another, using two huge trouts as weapons while sitting atop a pile. A pile of Banites beneath the lich, a pile of black-robed mages beneath Bane. Above the picture is a bubble above the 'Bane' figure, with the text; "My will be done! There WILL be fishies!"

Altogether the painting looks like the work of a child. The painting is signed by the name; "Bob, the Undead Ex-New-Re-Imper-Banite-ceptorist Extraordinaire"
