Hi there, ive spent almost 2 hours sifting through all the forums trying to find the simple answer to the question of, where is the Miner Job NPC located? (atleast a hint bigger than Amia A or B) I know this may seem ooc too much but when you have searched 90% of amias known areas for give or take ALL day such a post is called for....

If no one wants to tell me thats fine but dont bother posting 50 messages about why you wont tell me.

I apologise if this is inappropiate to the forum and or section but ive had enough of exploring while my life is draining away faster than a wounded paladin after an attempted raid on the city of Tarkuul..

Nidemus of the Vaunted bids you farewell.

If you make an IC post at the notice board, for example along the lines of "I am this and this, and I look for someone who can teach me this and this", I am sure people will respond and help you out. Atleast my char who is a miner will :)

I myself think it's kinda annoying that you have to find a "mentor" for every job instead of just self-teaching yourself a job. I mean... How difficult is it to be like:
"I was raised by a mining/farming/orcharding family. I've done it all my life."

    or

"Painting is a natural talent. How many true artists do you know of that have a formal education in it?"
It's kinda annoying in all honesty that there's no NPC registry that will tell you where to go for different jobs ICly. You'd think you'd be able to walk up to some scholarly NPC and say something like "If I wanted to be a painter, where would I find a mentor?"

All that said, I love the job system in its current condition and think it's a real credit to Amia. <33

Something like that was already suggested. The answer was that Disco wouldn't do it because whenever you would change the location of a mentor or add one you would have to change the dialogue too.

You can always think of it as "My character is a natural artist, but he seems to have misplaced his paintbrush!"

"Maybe that painter guy there has a spare one....."

Substitute paintbrush with pickaxe/spoon/etc as you like.

It's possible in theory to have an NPC that will tell your PC places to look for other NPCs. That might not suffer from the same drawback, because NWN can find any NPC by their tag no matter where they are. Then it's just a case of getting the area they're in and then returning the location name back to the PC.

This assumes that the NPCs have a particular tag because of the job system, though.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Simple.

As for the miner, he's probably doing his profession somewhere.
