I've been noticing an increasing number of unofficial Banites roaming about Amia lately, so if you have such a character and want to join the actual faction (with the awesome temple, friendly Blackguards and the cuddliest glowy-eyed monks you've ever seen) here's your chance! Contact myself via PMs or talk to any one of our noticeable members in-game to get admitted.
This is a bump because my activity has recently increased alot, so I can arrange quite a few meetings with potential recruits, should they be required.
I've just made a kobold who I've classed as a banite, decent build that involves RDD and Blackguard with the added bonus of devcrit. It's only level five at the moment though, so I haven't had it for that long nor met any other banites with it yet.

Might it be safe to assume that leaving this faction would result in death, life, and then relentless hunting afterwords? I could be interested in this and I have a plot in mind, though the little Banite n00b that I'd be probably wouldn't be able to do anything with said plot.

I don't think it's beyond reasonable to let you know that warning you OOC of actions that may be taken against you IC due to your choices as a PC is a bit on the side of metagaming, innit? Find out..take chances! Put down the magic 8 ball and throw caution to the wind!

If you want a chance to meet and I'm on, let me know and Kats will make her rounds. S ometimes we can be hard to find.

True, but the Church of Bane has, IMO, a very solid IC reputation for not tolerating people who do not take the faith seriously - those who reject or turn against the faith for any reason. And sometimes, turning against a particular chapter can be construed by that chapter as turning against the faith.
So you would be safe in assuming that the worst, yes, is more than possible, it is probable.
That leaves you in a situation where you would have to design a situation where the improbable would be more likely to occur.
I don't see this as anything to fuzz about, as Yoss already pointed out. There are few things more well known than Banites going frenzy on your ass should you in any way betray/leave/disfavour the faction/faith.
A character who leaves the faction, gets hunted down... forever.
We've come up with some "outs" to that though, as of recently. But that's under the condition that the character plays along, and compensates for the error committed (as the Banites view it).
I recently RP'd with a Banite, and my character is interested in joining the Banite faction. Only issue is the fact she's a rogue - so...would there be a place for her? Her primary aim would be infiltration, spying and whatnot.
Anyone with input, yes?

Every class except paladin and perhaps druid can fit in the Church's ranking dependent on the character's roleplay.
Below you have two fractions of the Church that your character could fit in. Obviously she is not a monk, but the Order of the fist describes her skills the most. Rogues are part of the Order of the Malevolent Fist, as they function as a melee striking force.
Quote:
Knighthood
The main idea behind the Malevolent Fist most likely doesn't appeal to your rogue, but each character has his own duties and tasks.
With other words, your character's class may fit in perfectly. Fulfilling a role like the Iron Gauntlet, within the Malevolent Fist. Unless the Order gets revised. Which it may.
Quote:
"The Order of the Iron Gauntlet (monks)
The Iron Gauntlet does two things: Guard the temple, and whatever dirty work the clergy needs done. Spying, reconnaisance and assassinations are normal activites. Monks are trained to use stealth and guile rather than direct force whenever possible."
"The Order of the Malevolent Fist (blackguards and other melee types)
The Malevolent Fist is a knighthood which answers to the clergy. They serve as the temple infantry when needed, and also assist the High Inquisitor or High Imperceptor in dealing with heresy within the ranks. They are unholy warriors, religiously fanatic in the extreme."

There are not enough monks around with that sort of psychosis to serve Bane in the Iron gauntlet.
That's why I mentioned that The order could use a revision. (Monks/rogues/sneaky bastards)

Ya and since Kichi's gone they need a need Gauntlet leader.
Hm, that's not a bad idea But it all depends on my char being able to prove herself worthy enough for the title. No doubt it's three times as hard to do, given the fact it's the Church of Bane XD

Earn it! And enjoy the endeavour.

I have a little unorganized monk Banite wandering around. Still room in the faction? I figure with Darth's claims an' such, the Banite church could always use a few more.
Should I be PMing someone for this, or what? Seems quicker this way, though, I could wait until found IG.
Ok... >.< Just because everyone on the server who does monk has SD in it doesnt mean the monk is stealthy. My pure monk is far from stealthy... he is a monk >.> With enough SR to make all but pure mages cry and he goes zoooooooooom! Isnt stealthy one bit.
Ok i have an old character I am considering bringing back to amia
ig she left the isle to serve on the mainland after the death of her husband.
I want to bring her back, and do a rebuild and was wondering on if this is ok and who i can talk to about it seeing as i do not know the leaders at the moment.
Her name was Galia Blackwing and she was a knight of Malice
could someone please Pm me regarding this, if it is ok, information etc etc
Thanks

Otherwise I wouldn't have had any problems inducting new members.
For those who currently look towards joining the faction, I suggest seeking out the other members of the Church and start RP'ing with them, continuously.
Just because you haven't been ranked as a Devout yet, doesn't mean you can't take part in the Church's doings.

I'm interested in joining. I have a cleric. If anyone from the church of bane can contact me via pm so I can get into the bane forum. I would appreciate it.
