I only have one gripe.

The spear. Can we have it changed to a one handed weapon?
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=2718

There is also this
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7457
Add's a few changes to things. Makes Katana's & Bastard Swords two handed if you only have martial proficency. It makes spears one handed, and whips useable in the offhand. Didn't know if that would be considered however given the other changes.

You can also add UnlockCamera=1 under Control Options in the nwnplayer.ini file, if you haven't done so already.

The only problem with the camera mod is that you can zoom up so close you can see how bad the character textures are.

Nice. I have always wanted to be able to wield bastard swords two-handed.

That would be nice. Katanas should be two-handers by default >.> Lack of counterweight and all that.

The unlocked camera causes issues with my camera. Sometimes, usually at the worst times, the camera suddenly ends up stuck in my character, and I have to spend 5 minutes moving the mouse wheel trying to get it unstuck.

I'm glad there is a discussion about the spear.

When looking at actual history, the spear was widely used.

The spear is never used on Amia, so something has to change.

Amia doesn't have to match history. While I agree with the contention, I find that argument rather lacking.

Lacking? This is proof that the spear is not balanced in the game. And why shouldn't it match history? This is alalagous with matching reality.

I understand that Amia isn't real, but that's just a cop-out excuse for not changing the spear to match what it is in reality.

Why? Because Amia doesn't match history. There were no mages in history - should we remove them? In history, there was one sentient species - should we remove the others? In history, half a dozen swings from a battleaxe would be more than sufficient to kill someone - should we remove the HP system? In history, people generally didn't drink spirits until the 16th century, yet Amia is clearly set before then - should we remove spirits? In history, many of the weapons present in Amia were never used in the same time period - should we bring down the number of weapons and armour?

'In history it was this way and this is sufficient proof for it to be this way in Amia' is not a strong argument, because it is not sufficient proof.

It matches REALITY. Spears were used often in history because they were good weapons.

Well a battle axe is virtualy the same it just requires material focus. Most people who'd go for such a weapon do already have that feat by standard.

What do you think would become the number one weapon for clerics, druids and bards?

Making it one-handed with the current stats makes it too powerful. Implementing the suggested change makes it weaker.

Moreover: the spear is the only viable two-hander in the Simple Weapon category. Quarterstaff is even worse. That's reason enough to keep it two-handed.

Which is another reason why I made the suggestion of making it one handed with martial. Basically it's the bastard sword and katana modifiers, but with one handed being a martial thing. It would make sense since the only people who use a spear one handed are soliders, warriors and what not. People with Martial Training.

Can the people with those navigation issues try this? I am not against ditching those tiles but it does add a bit more work.

Haks are easier to put in place then overrides. They always have been. You don't have to be concerned about it. It's two files, in the hak folder, thats it.

We've sort of made it an IC thing that there are no horses on Amia. Unless the other DMs want to change that, then fixed horses or not, they wont be added.

You mean they dont lag at all?

What is causing the normal horses to lag btw?
And what did this hak remove so they don't lag anymore?

Do any of you remember the in-game command to appear the framerate at the superior corner of the screen?

I am asking because at first I thought it was my 1 GB RAM with WindowsVista that was giving me lag, but now that I expanded the memory to 2 1/2 GB, it still is slow.

Perhaps the problem lies in my graphics card. If that is the case, there is nothing I can do. I will have to cope with slow gameplay until I get enough money to get a new computer, since I cannot get my laptop a new graphics card.

For instance, when I enter the placeables area, my PC slows down. And at the creatures' areas, before entering the rooms with them it is all fine, but the moment I enter the rooms, I get slowed down.

I wanted to check the framerate to post it here, for reference, in case it is needed.

In addition to these .hak files, horses would be too much.

I was browing through some of the things on the list and I got seriously excited.

Any idea when some of these are implemented?

Only one concern: Kinda makes things hard for new players, but with the right direction, easy and clear access to heads, hands and .hak files would make it supurb.

Also, I understand how cool it is to have dual-wielded katanas, but a katana is a two-handed weapon in real life.

Thanks! Though when I used it didn't seem of much help.

In some places while I was slowed down, it would be around 14.1, but in others, when I was just as slowed down, it would be higher, even at 21.0.

I think I don't know exactly what FPS is supposed to analyze or how it even works. >.>;;

I wouldn't mind them, but if they're introduced there had best be an economic way to do so so that the entire area doesn't lag

Well, I am sure there is a way to interdouce horses without making it stupid. For instance:

- Push the cost to 2mil, make it costly to keep one.
- Bar them from certain areas, like Cordor, Abyss, Wiltun, etc.
- Cant use cart system if you use a horse.
- Make sure you cant port around with them.
- Add costs to boat trips if you bring it along.
- Keep them loaded in one of the stables, and you can only fetch em from there. For instance Kohl outskirts, Cordor outskirts, Nes'ek, Winya Ravena, Bendir Dale for ponies.

I meant 'economic' in the sense of lag-economy, not gold-economy.

You would have to disable the AC bonus from ride skill though... the numbers it gives are insane.

They are not the 1.69 horses. They dont lag the entire area for 3 secs. If measures are implemented not everyone is on horseback, it will also make sure it reduces that.

The major issue with horses now that we have the HAK pack is rather that Amia isn't built for them. The layout of the land is very different, and not made for ease of horse travel. They would make Amia seem much shorter then it actually is, something it doesn't need any help with, espically on Amia-A as there is little space for new area's.

Nevermind that having horses on B-Mia would be nigh impossible given the scattered islands and such. You'd have to cart the damn thing everywhere on boats.

Alright, something not that devestating, but still slightly odd. There a towershields which should really be in the large shield catergory, and a largeshield which by size should definetly be in the towershield catergory.

Largeshields -> Towershields
- iashlw_016

Towershields -> Largeshields
- iashto_046

And on that note, the old black large shield(triangular one with two thin yellow stripes) is being overwritten by iashlw_075, some tribal thing, apparently. Not a huge thing, but it is/was the only all black largeshield in the appearances.

Just curious, is there a HAK out there to make the Shadow Variants able to be metamagiced?

Wasn't able to find anything on nwvault about changing this. Anyone know a way to do this without HAKs?

On an unrelated note, I heard instruments were included in Amia's HAK pack. Are the appearances listed under a weapon model, or what? I wasn't able to find them.

Implementing horses would require a 1.50 update all over again just to create the infrastructure to support them and re-configure the mechanics to balance them. And I won't lie to you... 1.50 was a larger update then the server split when it came to tipping Amia upside down, shaking it and putting it back down again.

If they're implemented in time, I might accept them. Due to the amount of work that's required for them to even be feasible though, they deserve work beyond the implementation of this upcoming hak.... so no. Don't include them yet.

Gal, your wrong. The horses proposed have no effect on any of the mechanics on Amia. They give no attack bonus, no bounses at all. The only thing it does is increases the speed at which one moves from point A to point B, not even the attack speed is increased. These are CEP horses, not Bioware horses. Completely different. These horses work.

Well, there's your problem.

Flat out no. CEP can go die on someone else's terms.

Old Fat Arse would need to ride into battle on the back of an Ox or something

Horses just for speed would be awesome, especially for characters running around dressed like knights.

I'm fed up having to give party members coconuts so that I feel like I've got a horse! :P

I don't feel that we need horses IMO.

Anything in CEP2 can be extracted and used out of CEP2, same with CEP. So you don't get all the junk, just what you want. CEP is simply a gathering f user made content, nothing in the CEP is specfically made for CEP only, it's all things made and then gathered.

Tbh, we don't need anything from HAKs, but lots of the things on offer would be enjoyed by a lot of people. Spears aren't needed, for instance, but would certainly be good to have.
