That explains why this seemed so odd to get! And for where I found it, since it's being removed, don't think it hurts to say it was Electric Castle.

I do notice it's marked "Stolen" at least. I wager that was intentional, although do no know.

Some of those items looked so nice too... *sigh* But! This explains a lot. Thanks for giving an early warning to it all.

I thought the Sergeant's Chain looked on the powerful side, if not more powerful than my Champion armour bought at the Temple of Salandra.

A shame for the person I offloaded it onto then, I guess, since you wouldn't have caught me wearing it. :D

I think I did the same with a Crystalline Shield too... Hmm.

Hrm... This doesn't appear to affect any of my characters, but out of curiousity, will players receive compensation in return for the removal?

Damn you! Damn you all! I knew that "Elk Tribe Hide Armor" was too good to be true... :(

Do we get replacement goodies?

No. Sorry. Most of them were incredibly overinflated GP wise anyways, so call it "balancing the amian Economy".

Yeah, I saw some of these items in the shop in Wiltun. Too pricey for my lowbie but I'm glad I didn't see them on my ranger because I would have been tempted to buy a couple and he can't afford losing that amount of gold.

I think vendoring them is enough of a reimbursement. I know when I sold one of the weapons for 120k the first thing that popped into my mind was "wtf?"

I know if you put some of these items in a high end shop somewhere, pc's without epic loot would buy them. The gap in quality between epic loot and the old +4 loot is large. That's why the BC stuff is so popular.

In fact I hope the staff will consider adding some of these to high end/hidden shops. The items they don't deem overstep power vs Epic Loot and DC items of course. If putting them in loot is too "economy inflating" then putting them in a shop and having money exit the economy via sales of these is an alternative option.

Well that kinda sucks... I spent quite a bit of money to buy one of those items. I suppose it would be okay to sell right before a reset so it goes into Amia bye-bye zone?

Is this really going to be removed? I personally don't see anything wrong with it, could someone explain to me why? I'd love to roll a Goblin at one point and have a Flail with a Rat on the end, but this is the only model in my knowledge...

If your going to just remove them, can i at least get something back >.>

Like if a DM were to supervise me selling it just before a reset, so they can guarantee it being gone?

My Bard spent mostly all of her gold to get some Pheonix plate and One of those Green Tower Shields.
(having said that, she didn't have much to start with, not the millions you see these crazy people carrying)

I know it's a mistake, and it's a bad one at that. it's just... why me, why now?

It could have been worse, i could have picked up a complete gearset of the new items, sold off all the old ones
for collateral and then really be left with nothing. >.>

There are a few definetely overpowered items, and some we're not sure about. We're fixing them and putting the stuff back in.

I suggest you sell your items before the removal, I guess. You'll make good buck out of it.

The gems in their current incarnation... I hope not.

Most of the items were unbalanced in one aspect or another. Most of them had a much higher gp value than intended, which caused an inflation to the economy.

The fact that we got new loot, in general, was awesome though. The initiative and intentions of the DM staff who suggested and contributed were therefore highly appreciated, even if the outcome wasn't quite as intended.

I look at this and think Rat Flail!

--

As for the reinbursment; why should we be compensated for something we were never meant to have in the first place?

Tsk, if you got to sell it already I think is lucky enough. As I know the item on the list I found is marked "stolen". Which is fine, I found it free, I loose it free, no harms done.

Frankly, having them marked "stolen" is a good way to keep them from just piling in too much gold back into the player economy if some were selling 120k!

It might be fair to make notes in them however that are like "OOC: Item cannot be sold to merchants" so people know what kind of investment they are making. But it then only circulates the player-economy with items of such quality.

Small thought.

I do think that putting some of these in high-end shops would help. It requires some effort to get them that way.

That rat flail doesn't seem very powerful to me. I actually think it kinda stinks.

Figured that the rat flail would be great for some of our more repulsive PCs, such as the farting orckin and grimy goblins.

I meant the OOC tag ON TOP OF "marked stolen" so players trading between eachother might know, but not think they somehow get to meta knowing it's stolen if it's just the mechanics of how that goes.

To be clear. It is K'nISS

The stolen tag alone accomplishes the purpose: There is no selling to merchants.

An OOC tag is inelegant, breaks immersion, and doesn't add to or fix anything being marked stolen alone doesn't already do.

I feel sorry for the people who bought these items from people and are going to lose them. Selling them off to other people would be difficult - but then again, you did say they sold for quite a good price.

Thanks for the heads up.

I am going to try to remove them soonish. I guess some financial restitution will be in order though. I obviously can't check if an item has been auctioned or whatever.

If they're going to be removed from the module, can they please stop being dropped as loot first? I keep coming across this stuff.

I demand that the dire rat flail is left in the game. It's way to awesome and commical not to have in the game, besides it isn't all that powerful and just like the fish clubs you can buy just really damned funny.

If you remove it I hope you get the plague and die :)
