Yes, for some Australians.
We're a hard bunch of people who're used to taking it for the team though, our crappy infrastructure is not a valid excuse in this regard.
Yurell'll get over it.

...I'm a Kiwi and I have no issue with 50mb. My infrastructure is provenly worse then yours. It's only a ONE time download. Use a download manager such as getright or flashget if your worried about the download dropping out.

I'm hoping to get my Internet fixed before we have to download anything, I'm using my phone as a Modem and my Average speed on downloading is 6KBps, atleast my network is giving me free internet for now.
I agree on some sort of Egyptian Haks, too, like Hendrack said somewhere earlier in the topic. There was an Egyptian Tileset I downloaded ages ago, can't rememebr where from though.
I'd be made up if the Guardian from CEP was added, too.
>.> That said, if the suggestions are already over, don't burn me! I haven't been checking the posts much at all with this slow connection.

Jeez, I was just asking if it could be done without much trouble. God forbid, you don't have to be a cantankerous arse all the time.

Well, I have everything ready but some gameplay things. I guess I could have the HAK up for testing this week. If holidays permit and I don't run into weird things again.
I guess I could put the 50MB part up for downloading, though.

If you need testers to fill up the roll since others may be busy in the Christmas Holidays Disco, give me a yell. I'm quite willing and able.

Will it include the culturally different exteriors and interiors in it such as Phearnun listed? I'm sorry but those really and truly are like a wonderful selling point of the idea of haks if only because they would make areas such as Winya and Brog look more like "Elven cities" and "Dwarven cities" and less like "Human cities with a bit of elf/dwarf'' tacked on.
Not to say an amazing job wasn't done on the cities listed...just that distinctively different would be amazing. Also might add a nice face lift to Winya to draw the elves back there to play about in the area a bit. Same with Brog. Distinctively high elf, wood elf and mountain dwarf to duergar.
Something interesting to imagine for a time. Dunno. Just seemed more practical than an umbrella when a hood does just as well. Or a building.*Shrugs*

Nopes. I did add the Dwarven Halls, and removed them. Mahtan, Nekhy and I saw them in action and didn't like 'em much. Looked very cartoonish. The Elven stuff... -urghh- ... that's just a crappy reskin of the UD set with some trees. The stairs are the only nice bit of it and that's why you see a screenie of them in very HAK containing those tiles.
But I did add halfling homes, treehouses, UD stuff, dungeon tiles, lots of different interiors and little expansions to almost all current tilesets.

And amazing plc's, and awesome new trees (I'd previously wondered "why bother adding more trees?" HA! ) and and...
*too busy drooling over the new things to post more*

Just remember to back up the whole thing before adding the haks, just in case the player base starts to dwindle because of players not wanting to take the time to DL them just to try out Amia.

Oh, oh, I completely forgot: If there is a hak to add more weapons to monk UBAB, could this be considered. Ie: Quarterstaff and shurikns spesificly. It would be so awesome if those could finally become vible weapons for a monk!

Might be nice to have a hak free trail kinda server of Amia to entice new people. Though really it's everyones responsibility in life to buy up what ever NWN cd's you can get and use them to get new players to join up.

Is it possible, Disco? Do we have time to add something like this?

I know we don't want to use haks to muck around with classes and the like, however, there is an interesting hak here:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7553
...which turns HiPS into a use-per-day ability. I know it was stated timers cause lag, however, although there is a timer, it can be removed if needed I believe and the class can only HiPS once per day per SD level. Assassins also get the ability at 11th level with this hak and Rangers at 17th but I think that can be taken out too. If this was implemented though HiPS spamming would not be so much a problem and perhaps SD could have its HiPS moved back to 1st and also maybe nerf the pseudodragon summons (and the like) a tad.

Saw that one, downloaded it, and then read the comments below it. Seems to break more than it solves. It swaps stealth with GS, for example.

Just curious, is there a HAK out there to make the Shadow Variants able to be metamagiced?

Anyone know? And if there was one, would it be considered "balance breaking" to introduce it? I understand there's no great demand for it, but was wondering if it was looked into.

Anyway, after finding out that all the weapons and shield which I fancied to pull from one convenient HAk are transparent I can safely say this is going to take a bit longer.

If needed, once the HAK is finalized, I'll prepare a CD ISO for distribution and ship CD's to people who want it / need it due to filesize constraints.
Yes, that includes international shipping.

Well, as I said, a few of these might be fun to add for "ghost" weapons, especially if we got ghosty NPC models that support weapons... they do look kinda cool, despite the transparency!

We have a somewhat translucent shield in game.
I love it!
I equipped and unequipped it accidentally a couple of times because I could barely see it on my PC. Usually, I would only know he was equipping it by opening the inventory. >_>;;
Add to that the fact that I am often a very distracted person, too.

Anyway, I got a test hak ready. The test server runs in the usual directory and is called Amia Hak test. It doesn't use the Amia character vault and is just plain NWN without any scripts. Direct Connection addy is the same as usual on port number 5123.
I have three download flavours, based on ease of use and bandwidth considerations:
I got plenty bandwidth and little brains
Self installer, 138 MB
http://www.amiaworld.net/hak/Amia%20Hak.exe
I got as much bandwidth as brains
Single 7zip archive, 64 MB
http://staff.science.uva.nl/~dcslob/hak/amia_hak.7z
I got little bandwidth and plenty brains
8 part 7zip archive, 62 MB
http://staff.science.uva.nl/~dcslob/hak/parts/
The self-installer does all the work by itself. The 7zip archives have proper folders that show you which goes where. Just to be sure: the .hak files go in the /hak/ folder of your NWN installation and the .tlk file goes in the /tlk/ folder. I assume that you know how to deal with segmented archives if you download the plenty brains option.
I will try to do any fixes in the smallest hak (amia_1.hak) so you'd just have to download a new version of that one when testing is done.
Mind that I haven't even tried if I can enter the server myself.

You did install it, rather than just download the file, correct?
It's a long shot, but uh... you did say you were retarded.
Haven't tried yet, myself.

I just tried it worked like a charm. If you got vista or 7 and the .exe you need to rightclick->run as administrator, though.

Just ran through all the tilesets before getting disconnected in Versatile Dungeon. Not sure how many were left.

Very snazzy and satisfying work Disco. I hope to see it on main server soon, and look really really forward to new areas... new legos are beautifull.

If or more like when haks become required on this server will the forum host the haks needed or will we have to go digging through NWN vault to get them?

If their hosted here I would gladly combine them and make a torrent out of it and host that for the server.

The 7z files now come from my university which has a very decent download rate... which is an understatement, btw. I don't see much of a reason to put our stuff on the vault.
ps. It seems that the server is restarting every 10 minutes. Must be some default setting or whatever.

Downloaded amia_hak.7z average speed around 1.300 kb/s.
I'm sitting on a 100 down 100 up mbit fibre line. I can host HTTP and FTP should it be needed.
