I'm setting up this topic to organise any OOC related miscellany to do with the Harlequins of Brandobaris.

For the IC thread check here: http://www.amiaworld.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=716992#716992

What this topic is for:
> Any questions about the Harlequins on an OOC level (eg. If someone needs a reminder of the harlequin they met last but forgot who they were etc.)
> Member queries (i.e. Asking what the current IC plot is about and what time the next meeting is, etc.)
> General Harlequin related scrap. (Pictures, lore, misc.)

As a faction there are, and have been for the past 2-3 years, a requirement to join. Not all requirements can be explained IC so here is a jist:

The prospective member must:
1) be an adventurer.
2) be halfling.
3) have Brandobaris as their patron deity, or be willing to convert.
4) have at least one level in any of the following classes:
-> Rogue
-> Bard
-> Wizard/Sorcerer with focus in the illusion school
-> Cleric (of Brandobaris with Trickery domain)

Alternative: be a monk of the Lucky Tricks order.

I need all the players of Harlequins to metaphorically raise their hand.

I used to have a load of notes on Harlequin related stuff on paper, but who knows where all that's gone!?

The members over the years have been: (Not including honorary members. Sorry, Lyle)

Johanna Hardingdale
Derry Swiftkick
Egan Winterthistle
Dredo Thornger?(darn, forgot the last name. I'll have trouble remembering others too)
Mitzu -
Trixx Bweibert
Thistlefoot
Brandy Bramblefoot
Daniel Shortcloak
'The Ditch'
Riffo Twayblade

Any more?

I've been told Trixx had left the server, and I haven't seen Mitzu on or her player on for a long time.

So, yea. Who's still around? I'm getting organised, as I have a few plans and directions. I won't be on much at all, though, but that's why I'm sorting this all out on the forum so that I can still contribute while not necessarily being in game.

K, yea...

So, I'm sorting out enemies and friends of the harlies (see the IC thread).

So far I've got friends being the hand of Misadventure and the lucky tricks order of monks. For enemies we have the Teneks and Urdlen followers.

I'm trying to rack my brains to remember any aggressors or buddies that we all share?

Let me know and I'll add them up, as it's always nice to have it in writing to remember or even focus your passion or hatred on.

Item check-list. Please send a PM if you don't have all of the following so we can meet in game to sort out any updated equipment.

> Harlequin Mask of Haunting (helmet)
> Harlequin Storytellers (sling ammo)
> Key to Harlequin Hall
> Harlequin Motley (fancy outfit)

Before I make an IC post about an upcoming meeting, I'd like to gather availability of all you harlequins.

I'm thinking of having one on Sunday 3rd January approx. 21 GMT.

What say you? I'm happy to change the time to suit the majority.

Well I have a IC commitment with Og on the first, New Year's Day, so I can't then but I think other than that I'm good.

So.. uh.. *cough* Where was everyone?

Is it time I disbanded the gang? My own fault, really for not being on much at the moment and large times away the past few years.

Hmm..

Apologies, my harlequined fancy pants friends, for not being on as Johanna as much as I should. I stopped after nobody showed up for any of the Harlequin plots/meetings I've posted here, but I do not blame anybody but myself.

So, just to see if there are any harlequin players out there that watch these forums, could you give me a yell in the form of a reply? Also perhaps giving a few OOC tips on how to revive the dying faction.

i'm still here. as for revive ing the faction IMO the harlequins need to do more active things. the storytelling is cool and all but it's a bit unentertaining to some people. i would sujest getting DM permission to do major pranks in cities, and set up group adventures and such

If someone is bored by The Storytelling Union they simply need not take part. It's really that simple. It's not a faction related plot other than by name. All those involved in the Storytelling Union are only there for those that enjoy sharing stories or listening to them in game.

It's my own personal homage to the Story Night at the Grove that died out a very long time ago, but I only have fond memories for.

As for pranks, they are not the be all and end all for the Harlequins of Brandobaris. If you had been to any of the meetings you would know this.

I love the Storytelling Unions events! You've added poetry and music as a new twist to what the old Grove Story night was and -- in my opinion -- have made it more interesting than it's predecessor in the process. Sadly, I'm usually in the middle of other RP, not online at the time, doing class work for college or sleeping (damn you for being British!) when you're doing them. But yeah, it's cool and I know other people like it too.

well i said my piece and you shot me down. i said that there needs to be more active events you've only furthured my point in that the harlequins are doing nothing. and i well know what the harlequins are about i didn't just start playing riffo i researched. don't blame me for not being at the meeting i've said i have church at that time and i can't make it several times now. now if you want to offer a better sugestion or even any idea then go ahead rather then telling me i'm wrong when you asked for ideas and for us to give a voice if not i'm done with this i had hopes but don't see them coming true.

I think you get me wrong. I do appreciate your suggestions, I just disagree with one of them, is all.

In fact, as you appear to have researched the faction so liberally perhaps you could post your gatherings on this thread for us. That would be a good help and frame of reference for future.

What with Riffo being a chronicler, perhaps it could be something IC too, if you were inclined to, of course. I don't wish to force anything on you.

http://amiawiki.shatuga.com/index.php/Brandobaris

also the Forgoten Realms Campiagning set and the Races of Fearun

this is where i got my info on everything. maybe i'm not getting you but from what i saw here with "If you had been to any of the meetings you would know this." and "As for pranks, they are not the be all and end all for the Harlequins of Brandobaris" it would seem you don't appreciate what i'm posting i said the harlequins need to be more active i gaves pranks as a sugestion because that was the only thing active i ever heard them doing. and i'm done with it amia already been on my nerves latky i don't need anymore problems. i don't enjoy playing riffo seeing as the faction doesn't seem to want to do anything or even come back.

I think you may have been reading a bit too much into what I said, and perhaps between the lines. I had no intention to put down any suggestion you had, only to take it on board and expand. It is true that I could have been a little more clear on that matter, so apologies for making it seem personal.

As for research, you have looked into Brandobaris very thoroughly, and I commend that. I had no dispute over how well you have looked into the patron, though I do wonder what you had dug up about the Harlequins specifically. That was my main concern, as the Harlequins are not mere followers but a bunch of fanatics and extremists, taking a rather skewed view of The Scamp through the perspective of Johanna's rose tinted vision.

As for my comment on you not being at any meetings, that was mainly to point out that you have unfortunately missed out on a lot of background. The meetings I were referring to mainly are ones from before Riffo was even initiated, some years before in RL time. I did not mean any personal attack.

That said, I had noticed you may be getting a little fatigued by Amia, and I can totally relate. I've been there, and some time away does wonders. That's not to say I wish to see you leave.

There is nowhere to research the harlrquin i tryd the wiki and the forums have no histroy goal or even the point of them on here that i can find. and yes i know there not just a bunch of fanatics, you don't need to keep posting things like i don't know anything about the faction my character joined. and i have tryd finding out IC though the only times i see johnna on is for the storytellers union. i'm trying be a jerk or anything but the harlequins are dead they havn't done anything none from the faction is ever on and nones coming up with any ideas, and mine are being ignored. i said we need to do somthing active you only commented on the example i gave of pranks not giving a sugestion. i've had it, the faction was good when i joined if it is ever brought back to life i might be back but for now riffos gone.

So, right. Moving on.

Just wondering about availability for you-know-what. Let's just call it "Operation Courtesan" for now ;)

Shall we see if we can do stuff around 8 or 9 EST on this coming Tuesday 6th July? I'll see if we can get DM involvement too.

Uh, scratch that. a day or two later would be better for me. Anyone else? Though I'm fairly convinced none of the 'quin players even look here.

la la la.

Okay, so that's 4PM for west coasters, 7PM for the Easters, and Midnight for me. Let's hope that's fine for the DM.

Um, woops. I just noticed your time zone, Zia. that would have been 2AM for you.

Urrr...

Well, we have done our prep work. The Khem stuff we're postponing for whenever you can be around.

Perhaps we can arrange a better time for it for DMing.

It's all fine. When would be best for you, Zia? The time zones for all of us involved span 10 hours between West Coast USA all the way to Finland. Perhaps tomorrow (Saturday) would be better for us all? Say 11AM for the western extremity and 9PM Continental Europe?
How's that for everyone?
