Seems to me that it's easy enough to throw two or three together but after that due to not everyone fitting into the level range, you're stuck with that.
This makes it kind of difficult to have a well-rounded party. You could have for example a pair of archers with no armoured guy in front taking the heat. And they would probably die, unless they fight something ridiculously easy.
I don't know, maybe I'm kind of morose from respawning... twice... but it seems like a problem.

I think the key to this one is to be a more.. deferred gratification person. (Yes, I had to look the phrase up. Shush.) Before you go, make sure that you have all the types of people you need. This isn't a problem with the system, it's a problem with you simply not getting everyone before you leave.
God almighty, intense typos!!

You're being to complicated about it. Just set off with whomever you find. If it's just archers take easier prey. Make sure everyone is in the party list and people will message one of you while you hunt or you can check the list reguary yourself. Eventually you'll get a full party and move to harder grounds.
Not everything is meant to be easy, infact it's more fun if it isn't.

Yeah, but if it's meant to be fun it's supposed to be, I don't know, within the realms of possibility, eh?
It's frustrating to see a party making their way uncertainly across what for them is new terrain, and not being able to do anything but talk to them briefly because you've got about fifteen levels more than them. And then when you try and find a party like that in your own level range, not even a sniff of a chance.
About the only option as far as I can see, is for me to jack in my levels and go party with someone I actually want to party with.

Must be a timezone thing, then. I'm on during the evenings to early mornings EST and have had no problem finding full parties.

Rare for me to find full parties too. Might be a time zone/alignment thing.

Well I got myself a de-level so hopefully my luck will change. Plus, I get to build a character which isn't so horribly gimped at what it does.

Once upon a time, I thought that in becoming level 30 I would no longer have trouble finding a party. Mind you, I am one of those "only one PC" players.
I was wrong.
Once upon a time, after becoming a DM, I wondered if I would have an easier time finding a party.
It got even harder, then.
I don't have a good suggestion, though. I'm sorry.

well as far as being lvl 30 makes it easier to get ina party... the answer for me is hell no. first off the only ones who can party with him due to lvl and alignment are his faction allies... so if there arent a healthy amount of them on, i simply dont log on with him most cases.
and i think that
1) to find a full party, always be checking the party list. try to add those you find along the way to your hunt. and dont be discouraged by slightly offput alignments, just settle for the RP and move on. not every evil aligned guy has to have a "I am villain" sign around their neck, so just rp it out and see what happenes. also, look for mages! these in your party can add up to 2-3 more members of your party with summons and dominateds and also provide the buffs that you need! also grab a cleric when going to high lvled areas... i know theres hardley any good ones on but if your lucky then you will have a much easier time. and do your best to keep a mental list of who youve partied b4 because its not likely that they would have gone out of range if this last hunt was yesterday or something. just PM them "hey, wanna hunt again?" i do this all the time to fill out my party.
2) there is no 2. in fact i just like making lists
3)???
4) profit

Haha, I love the Underwear Gnomes episode.
Anyway, I to have a hard time finding full parties. And, far too often when I do find a full party it's very much a "silent hunt". Which is a bummer and I usually leave. I think it probably helps if you're in a faction, although I don't know since I've never been in a faction. Of course I think that's mostly due to me being a poor role player. Well, not exactly poor, just don't really ever role play outside the arch types I grew up on in pnp. Anyway, I'm always up for a good old fashioned rp adventure, so if I see you in game, I'll send you a tell.

Play a bard.
Everyone knows that although Bards are, well, Bards, they're always a perfect addition to the team, regardless of its current composition. Same goes for clerics, to a perhaps differing extent. Depends on religion, I guess.
Also: Don't play a Paladin. They (rightly ) try to help everyone and stop evil whenever possible, often to the detriment of the team's goal of getting rich by killing monsters, such as wolves and wild boars, and taking their stuff.

When you're a 30 bard, all you need is another member with a good build to dish out damage and you can pretty much take on any region on the server.
You don't need more than 3 people in the team.

I've found it to be a timezone thing, myself. I can never find a party, and if I do it rarely has more than one or two others in it.
Which is why I don't like the idea of areas that need six people in order to do them.

I find the issue isn't people online, but rather that my character doesn't get along with other characters online, or even the occasional OOC dislike. I can name a few people who have been online when I have that I'd not party with under any circumstances due to a simple dislike of the player. Particularly how they do things.

The only times I really have trouble finding a party is when there just aren't enough people online. Many people = many hunters. It's just a matter of getting in touch with them. Use the party ball, look around populated areas, and if all that fails, have a careful look around near the place you want to hunt at. Might be someone there already.
I'm with Selvec though, I have an ever growing list with people on it who annoy me. I still take it with humor and will not go OOC on someone's arse if he makes a decent attempt to hook up for a party. If someone proves me wrong, he's back "in". But repeat offenders get the silent treatment.

This.
I refuse to go into a party with people I know to RP (or in most cases not RP at all) extremely little while hunting, which is why I only level up with a select few people, albeit we have a lot of fun with leyline issues pairing us up.

Okay yeah but still, even bearing in mind to check the party ball often, mostly it shows one or two in your level range. The people who backwardsly don't advertise for a party but are still looking for one, you can't see them until they send you a Tell.
To be blunt, I also ditched my levels because by the time you're in your early twenties people seem to assume that you psychically know every area inside out and can prepare for it in ten seconds flat. Not gonna happen.

Yossarin the character is as scary as Yossarin the player. Intimidating might be a better word. Odd?
Actually, I think aloof and awesome, coupled with the positive meaning of the things I wrote, may be the reason for his loneliness.

Another option is to play a cleric or a paladin of a good deity.
Sure, travelling with the evil, or plain apathetic, won't happen... but paladins and their like stick together like glue and something else dead sticky.
Same goes for rangers and druids... they naturally assist each other. Bad pun, I know.
Playing an apathetic adventurer that simply wants to go kill monsters and/or take their stuff can get some people on your side quite easily, but less reliably, depending on the character. A likeable, yet apathetic, adventurer like this will have plenty adventuring companions (see: Bards), whereas an uncharismatic boor may find himself lonesome. Charisma is one's friend here.
If your character is fighting for a cause, however, be you a righteous Paladin or a Banite blackguard, you will find others that are of a similar bent eager to join you, although they are not as common as your average adventurer. I am unsure, but lawful causes as opposed to chaotic ones may be more likely to form organised groups that work together instead of solo, but this is mere supposition.

If you're being fussy on an OOC level about who you have in your party, you can't really complain when you can't find people to hunt with IMO (not aimed at any particular post, especially not yours, blunt).

Over and over I read on the forums "just get a party", "you should never hunt alone".
The reality is that, for some players, 'just' isn't so easy. The server isn't always 65/65, and there aren't always heaps of players looking for a party, much less in the proper level range or of the proper class/alignment, etc.
These stats are not untypical when I'm playing. When there's 20 odd players on, the chances of finding a party are pretty slim.
That's not to say that on weekends it's a different story, when I will see a near full server and even a DM or two. But the majority of the time, that's not the case.
So to say the server/spawn should be designed for large groups to encourage RP is, to my mind, nonsensical. It also points out the fallacy you 'just' have to RP well to get DC's. If there aren't any DM's on, DC's aren't falling from the sky regardless of the amazing RP.

And I've noticed, at least for me, it's -really- hard at the mid-level ranges. (I.E. 12-20). I have three characters in those ranges I just can't seem to get leveled.
And I don't really care if there's RP or not. I prefer RP, but if they just wanna gogogogo... I'll deal, since finding a good group is so rare. A good group that RPs even more so.

Every single one of my characters is in the 12-20 level range. I've been playing for quite a while, and still dont have an epic character. I'd like one, of course, but I think the hardest part is knowing where to hunt. From these levels, I cant think of anywhere to solo hunt, and if you cant find a party, you're screwed.
Anyways, Ramika. Look me up.
As for party finders, just keep trying. Even when you have a party, keep yourself on the party search list, and people will be PMing you. Just grin and bear it. Always have a backup plan, somewhere or someone to RP with if you cant find a party. Be social, find people, and enjoy.
If you just want to hunt, but cant, and no one is on to RP with, and you dont feel like meeting new people (or cant seem to engage in conversation.)- DONT PLAY. Really. Take a break, go do something else, so your image of Amia isnt ruined and you dont walk away wondering where those hours went. Its fine too. Not every day will be fantastic. Most will, but I've had plenty of down days. I always ended up wishing I had done something else instead of walking all over the server alone.

I'm probably part of the problem because I hardly ever add myself to the party ball anymore. I do try and add myself to it whenever I remember but often I just keep forgetting to use the party ball.
When I first started out in Amia where I did not know anybody, I was on the party ball 24/7. But as I got to know more and more people, it became easier to form parties even without the party ball. One just waits for his/her buddies to come online and send a tell to them and you all switch to your lowbie characters to hunt. I guess that's where those people come from when they say 'never solo' and 'just get a party'.
Maybe we ought to show the levels but not the classes in the server info - player list. Or have people automatically added in the party ball and we'd have to opt-out if you don't want it.

You know actually if more people did add themselves to the party ball you'd have a problem, because not everyone adding themselves would fit on the list (I think it only has room for ten).

I have several accounts and I think around 20 different characters in all in Amia, and I can say for sure that it's the wrong way to go if you want to find a party. If you have just one character you use, people will remember you and when they see you around, they'll send tells asking you to join. By switching between character as I do, I never get continuity and often find myself solo. But then, I do what I can to create characters that can solo epic areas.
Another hint is that if you roleplay a lot, even though no one else in the group do, and you roleplay in such way that the tempo in hunting and gathering loot isn't badly obstructed but you make people around you laugh, you'll get a lot of tells the same moment you enter Amia.

Havent even been here very long and I've noticed a few things about parties. Paladins are gimped for parties, too many RP conflicts with people and it's kinda lame to suck them up for a party. You don't have to be that good even if you're lucky enough to be a character that has some... character. There are already a few people I won't party with again because of the way they do stuff, but I seem to have found a 'steady party" that's prety effective when they can get their butts moving to do something even though there will probably be some Rp issues with them in the future it makes it even more interresting when you realise your "friend" is realy not.

Wonder if the server needs hireable merch NPC's that cost to hire, cost to keep "summoned", and cost even more if you let them get killed. With level restrictions who you can hire when.
Sounds too harsh on scripting and lag and all I bet.

The module has to support henchmen, as far as I recall. They're great for single-player modules, but can you imagine thirty-odd henchmen trailing around after PCs? Lagsome.

I get irritated easily so I never add myself to the party ball.
I'm an efficient smacker of spawns so I'm not going to be tied down to a party where the wizard wont buff me, the Bard at 11 uses curse song on everything. Icly that translates to: "are you an adventurer or an idiot?"
