Where's Dramatic Prince in all of this?
Prescia is the island's endless-pocketed mogul. Probably worth Cordor's weight in gold, by now. Go beg her for handouts. >.>

Prescia has a disgusting amount of gold and I know exactly how she legitimately got it. It's clever. Gross. But clever.

I stopped caring about collecting a huge humoungous gigantic fortune after I got over 10 mil. I know there are many ppl on this server with more than that, quite a bit more than that, but 10 mil was where I reached my "Do I really need this kind of money? Isn't this just a tad bit silly? Isn't this overkill?" frame of mind. Hoarding coin at that point became pointless to me. I suppose I could set a goal of 20 mil or 50 mil or even 100 mil but I really don't feel like going thru all the grind hassle to accomplish such goals. I guess I lack RPG ambition. *shrug*

Don't be an arcane archer. Some of my more powerful arrows cost around 17k to restock, and I can blow through the stack in 2 sets of spawns if I'm trying to solo something.

I got into the same mindset once I hit five. There was absolutely nothing I could spend it on except auctions, and for most of the really good stuff it went off at ridiculous prices.

I think that sums things up quite easily.

I think everyone with a huge amount of gold got it legitimately (otherwise that would be a really stupid way to draw a DM's attention) ... and I hate them for it
A lot of the time you need piles of money to win an auction, and the simplest way to get that is to gold farm (those who have a huge amount probably use a different method).

That works. I made over 10 mil for the Temple of Love solely in donations from other characters. I've now spent the vast majority of it (on legitimate expenses related to the Temple, to be sure), but people still offer to donate funds, and if I ever need any I'm sure I'll just have to ask.

A Bards gold is only limited by how many times they require rest after curse songing Kobolds.
Trust me its faster than grinding epic areas for loot because all you do is Curse > Next Spawn > Curse > Next Spawn > Haste. > Curse.
I think my record for that type of grinding was 2 million four hundred thousand in 2 hours.

Hee hee, I thought I was the only one who discovered that. I should have known better. Not something I did to gain any fortune I might have, but I noticed it was entirely profitable. Something about routinely slaughtering kobolds by the thousands didn't seem to fit my PC.

You even worded it exactly as I intended to, Mago.
I'll have to try that (my drow got a million by lvl 14 by farming driders with scrolls).

How so? Its no cheaper than boss grinding for hours. Its just smarter because you actually do less work.

No risk = no gain?
The curse song + kobold method seems more like... no risk = all gain.
I doubt any developer would ever have that intention in mind when designing a module.

True enough, I wouldn't do it again either, I'm just saying that whilst Prescia is obscenely rich, anyone with curse song could become richer in a matter of days.
Its why i am a fan of BLOCKING LOOT and gold income if a characters CR is five levels higher than the beast he's pegging.

Sell RP items & Collectables.
I sold a Thayvian Soul Gem to someone for a million gold simply because they required it for their RP. Nothing more.
RP Items. They are good.

I wouldn't go to the kolbolds, but those pesty spiders are nice that bag you can always sell to lowbies or trade for favors. aka pc favors are well worth its weight in gold.

I never really considered using Curesong to quickly do loot runs. I mean, if you've got enough perform, it's easy to just Cursesong weak mobs to move through the area quickly. Guess I never considered it to be profitable.

It's a shame if goldfarmers and powergamers get the most gold in a rp game, and items that should not even be in the mod like the bow of ancient power go to gold hoarders instead of actuall rpers.
But alas, it's what you get when you create a hunt based economy with a player run market where earning gold is mutually exlusive with rping.

That Bard Cursesong idea is fantastic. Never considered that sort of thing before. You'd need to be a high level for it to work properly though, right? Otherwise you'd use up all your songs really early on?
And lol @ whoever keeps changing the forum names of Valas.

I probably shouldn't say this but... that is becoming the comic relief of the day, seeing different accounts popping up from proxy IP's, all spamming the same message. It's like playing those shooter games at an amusement park. Just wait till a target pops up again, and BANG! Sockpuppet down. This picture in my head amused me quite a bit now, hehe.
Anyway, on topic. My money farming trick is to hunt lower level areas, too. Never tried the kobols, though. I don't farm money to save it, though. It's always if I need to buy something new. I suck at this game.

Spams wails, circle of deaths, cloudkill, etc...on lowbie groups...
Use metamagic to have these spells in the 30+ spells range...rinse and repeat....
