I was just curious if there were any body that plays a Malarite?
Doesn't matter what levels you are. Was just wondering if there were any so we could hit up and RP and do activities.
Any types are welcomed! ^^ from the chaotic evil raging killers to the keen cerebral hunter types.

Perhaps the question should be, are there enough Malarites to form a faction? While this could be achieved with IC Q+A, an OOC response would yield some idea as to whether a faction of this sort could be sustained and offer some rp/foil to the Glade and the Grove. While I don't play a Malarite, I welcome the addition of a faction of this sort. The Balance is dominated by those who adhere to the Good deities of Nature and there is a real need for, well, balance. "Evil" is as important as "good" in Nature- some have the inclination to cull the weak and sick (Malarites) while others try to care for them and restore them to health if possible (Mielikki). In other words, people might call Eow a "tree hugger" but they should think twice before they describe a Malarite in that manner. I have seen a few well-played Malarites, but they are always running solo and, over time, they seem to leave the server (Wolf, for example). I would rather see them stay and become an active force. I hope that those who play Malarites will respond OOC to Sven's inquiry.

mhmm! Like Eowmir said, its just more so a question to see if there are any other people playing Malarites and to get a feel of the timezones of those that do play one so we could perhaps gather and organise something! =D

I play a Malarite. But he's tends to come and ago... intentionally. It's his persona. Not much of a group hunter, as it were.

Malarite are fun, it would be sweet to see some show up, yeah. We have the goody nature types that are the most prominent on the server and then you have the more neutral types which are kind of under dogs, but rising under dogs. Some good RPers to play Malarites, Talonites, etc. would be way awesome. Give those goodies a challenge and us neutrals something to moderate!

I've probably got a few malarites hanging around in my (most likely) gigabyte-large character archives. One of them comes to mind as a druid/blackguard. 0.o

If the Malarites WERE doing what Malarites are SUPPOSED to do, then I believe, to a certain extent, that the Elves would be having trouble with them - as they're on the list of "Greater" enemies, probably second to Dhaerow, as they're responsible for the damned Elf Eater.

Malar has a bad history with the Hin race too, through the Ghostwise. Malarites have tons of enemies on Amia. ^.^
That's probably why there aren't many of them around that stick around. It's a lonely road. If I didn't have my beloved Silvanite, I would totally make a Malarite or Talonite to be on the other side of the fence. I don't want to play directly opposing characters like that though. Willow would want to kick that characters teeth in but would never be able to. 
Kudos to those trying though. Keep at it. I still want to see more evil nature folk!

You'll be seeing some trouble sooner rather than later. Don't you worry about that. Tormak saved you some trouble when he told me that it would be impossible to do a certain something that another Malarite and I were going to try and do...Darn you Tormak and your so called "logics."

For the record, I think there's nothing wrong with a character trying to do this, and going through great pains to see it done, so long as the player knows that it'll ultimately never happen. The resulting conflict could be awesome.

That doesn't really sound like a Malarite to me - at least, not an extreme fundamentalist, like my character is.
Also: Malarites on Amia are going to have the opportunity to see a lot more action in the near future. Keep an eye out. You'll know what I'm talking about when it happens.

Hmm....well, not Malarites but Ghaunadaur's faction -had- a lot of Shifters in it and other nature based characters. Unfortunately, some of those have left so we're sorely lacking. If you still need a faction to join for an evil Druidic character, Ghaunadaur has the Animal Domain so you'd be welcome to join us, assuming the Malarites aren't around to join.
The two religions have some similar ideologies in their Darwinian "might is right" and hunting ethics paradigms. But whilst Malar tends to be more a surface cult, Ghaunadaur's lot tend to Lurk below the ground instead. Both groups war with the Elves, although, in our case, we tend to interact with the elfy's indirectly...
Malarites tend to be dominated by Surface races, Ghaunadaurians by Underdarkers but I find that the two religions are quite similar (but enemies of each other). Ghaunadaur's lot have allied with one of the Furies, Umberlee...whilst Malar has allied with Lloth.

Another note of interest is that Malar is never specifically stated as being unable or unwilling to accept Elven worshippers / followers - it being assumed that, being a deity, every follower he attains increases his power. I say this because I've seen a few elves who have claimed Malar as their deity of choice. However, an Elf that follows Malar would (presumably) know that his deity is prejudiced against him/her, which may call for some interesting character concepts, interactions, and beliefs.
Also: if your deity doesn't like you, you might not be granted spells or divine abilities, or ever be considered for positions of authority or power within the church. That's up to the DM team's discretion, I guess.

Malar is very feral, I doubt he cares if an Elf worships him. I would think that the only reason he actually hates Elves as a whole is because Elves tend to be so close to nature and their gods are allies of Silvanus and his children. Just a guess though.
By the way, although Ghaunadaur and Malar have certain similarities, he's not a nature god and doesn't support Druids. The only reason he has the Animal domain on Amia is because of the limitations with domains on NWN. He doesn't have the Animal domain in PnP. The only thing that really puts him anything near being a "nature" god is that he's kind of a beast lord, like Lolth, Lurue, Bahamut, Tiamat, Nobanion, Baphomet (not a true god, but still), Malar, etc.

On a side note: Gunz, that's a good point. I know less than I should about Drow/Underdark lore, but I just checked and he is lacking the animal domain. However, the "Strong Survive by Culling the Weak" idea is somewhat shared. I would argue Malar is a harder-core version of the ideaology, though.

Malar is the recommended deity for any Underdark evil drow aspiring to tread the unconventional path of a druid.
No, Lolth doesn't give spells to druids. There's no druids of Lolth.

Right. That's pretty much the point I was trying to make. Although Ghaunadaur, Lolth, Baphomet, Bahamut, Tiamat and even Set are beast lords of sorts, they don't support Druids and aren't true "nature" gods. Although I'd argue Set would make a fine one >.>
