At one point in time I knew the math to figure out the IG time that has gone by for three real life weeks, but I forgot it. However I do remember that it wasn't just three weeks IG, from my sources the city has been cleaned up for about that amount of time.
I would like to request the city be cleaned up, even if just a little, and perhaps a merchant or two be thrown back into the city please. It isn't pleasant going to the Underport to sell while encumbered.
Exactly, I learned we were banned today, after using them for four days maybe, where are the new drow expected to sell things? What about the starter quest that gets us to level 3 that Paz'kole used to give? What about that beautiful drow artisanship that has dead drow bodies strewn across every inch of it, that has been cleaned up but not removed?
I have seen atleast four new players come and leave the server because of these things, the drow has been a dead race on Amia for sometime now, it is why I left in the first place. Admittedly, it has a lot to do with the player base we already have who do not stay in character with their problems, but personally, I would not mind seeing a few new Drow faces to pick on.

Ahh, the ol' baseless accusations of dead servers and new players leaving. Last person that did this was on an alt to guilt trip the Drow into thinking they lost a bunch of new people. Do you have evidence? If there's problems, I expect PMs in my inbox yesterday. "Put up or shut up" as they say.
See, the big thing is, you're doing in this topic what the Drow are famous for doing. You sit and complain instead of doing anything about the problem. I had 3 Drow RAGING at me in MSN because how dare they have to RP in a wrecked city? It's ruining their RP and I demand it be fixed RIGHT NOW.
I informed them that all they needed to do was talk to Gers, Maias, or Disco and they could get things worked out. They seemed utterly surprised: Talking to the DMs who run the plot, or the an who does area changes? Absurd. "But we never see them in game!" "The forums have PMs for a reason."
To this logic they conceded, and left me alone. *Not even* two days later, Disco has Ultrinnan cleaned up (which you will see if ou read the Announcement sforum).
Actually talking to people instead of bitching will get stuff done. Try it sometime.
Drow RP is not dead. You're crying wolf, for whatever reason I don't know, but all you're doing is making all the Drow look bad. The Drow don't solve their problems IC? Guess what you're doing. Right now.
Also there is a massive giant underdark on B. Cough. Cough. Hint. Hint. If Ultrinnan doesn't have what you nee right now, go look elsewhere. Don't sit in your ruined city and go "What do I do?!"
When cordor got destroyed, people went elsewhere to shop. They didn't sit in Cordor and complain. Why do the Drow have these... base issues with things like this? Serious question.

I must admit, I was delighted to see Ultrinnan in ruins. It meant that something was finally happening (and I understand the reasons for things not happening, but things happening is so much more exciting!)

Things not happening was ultimately the message a lot of players gave us as what they wanted. They didn't want events. They didn't want DMs to "ruin their RP". Stay out of my house politics, don't attack my invincible city, don't inflict consequences for what I do.
You got this for the longest time, but it's not really what you wanted, because you complained heavily about that too. "DMs hate us, DMs ignore us." See above, and above post.
So basically we said "fuck what you think" and started running stuff. Lo and behold.

The DM team needs to see things happening before things can change.
I haven't seen anyone in Ultrinnan give a single order for the city to be cleaned up. I haven't seen anyone gathering resources to get the city fixed. I haven't seen anyone trying to import slaves into the city to do the work.
I did see someone try to loot a dead Vanguard. Funny, but it won't get the city fixed. Time is not going to resolve the current state Ultrinnan is in. There needs to be a good deal of effort on the part of the players, and it's essential that what the players are doing gets reported to the DM team. Send us screenies. Show us RP. Ask to speak with NPCs.
Don't say, "//Can we have our merchants back now?"

I've ordered drow to clean up the city. It was a post in the forums ordering drow to burn them all to nothingness and clean them up. But nobody listens to me. Nobody backs initiative. And Kil'ani is hogging all the merchants. They're in their house. WTF.

Oh oh! *Raises hand* I got this one! It is because the surfacers have places to go, accessible to lower levels.
Seriously, Tormak, never once called out any one DM, so why make the attacks on me? I would defend you guys any day of the week, so please don't make it personal.
Honestly though, I have been back three, MAYBE four days now. I have no issue with the city being in ruin, other too dark to see actual ruin (Not a complaint, just sayin'). I really have no issue with DM plots, infact I do wish there were more, and for the record I would have been all over the plague had I showed up on time. Now, I saw Templar's leave of absence notice, so the plot has obviously been kind of stagnant, thats fine as well atleast there is a reason. I wouldn't mind seeing someone stepping up and just adding a little to the story to give us reason to think those corpses and fires should still be there. Ya know? Not take over for him, but just give us reason to worry about the plague until he is free again.
I guess to sum up my rant, maybe a merchant who isn't the bartender (She rips us off.. buying everything for 50g, that witch..), and maybe a tiny addition, nothing major.
Metagame? I would assume there are merchants there, how the eff would a non-native Amian know about these other tunnels when he barely knows the tunnels around the city yet.
Ultrinann is currently a city in distress. Trying deseprately to recover from the brink of destruction that was the civil war, which is not even over now.
This is the exact reason you won't find all those basic things that many cities do have. Its a city fighting for its existance and then you can't really expect to find a healty supply of goods at the market.
Now about merchants, some have actually been recovered, but been moved by the pcs elsewhere to make sure they were safe. The bartender was likewise only reinstated due to active pc action to solve the issues.
What I am trying to say, you can't really expect drow entering the devastated city of ultrinnan to be positioned fairly. Some drow choose to hide it out elsewhere and well that is probably the best way if a drow wants to avoid the trouble. And as always questions and such are welcome in my pm box. I try to answer them whenver I have the time to do so.

Alright.. well then, it seems as if the Drow need leadership. Now Naelin doesn't exist anymore, but it would seem I have the next best thing. His son! You want to see this go smoothly, just say the word and things will get done, just to show you that not all the Drow complain and do nothing. I was just in the situation of starting back up and having no where to sell and not knowing why.
I thought it was DM laziness, no it would seem it is Drow inflicted. So I appologize.. even though i woild still like a merchant.
If I may say this to my Drow.. stop it, they are trying to give us a story, go ahead and play along, it would be much faster to get things back to normal this way. *thumbs up* Anger them now, and they wont want to do anything fun with us.
O. I read "play along" as "do what they say, and hopefully we can get our city back and they'll leave us alone and everything will be stagnant and boring again."

Now you're just being difficult, play along is an expression I use.. See, when one plays, they usually have fun. When one has fun they usually don't do a half arsed job with what they are doing. What I was trying to say was have fun, the story isn't supposed to be a burden, it didn't happen because the DMs hate us.
Maybe I took too long to post.. maybe.. by a little bit, but no, I love it when the DMs interact with us, you guys have so many powers that we don't just by being able to use the PCs.
Why exactly was an entirely brand new, fantastic, sparkling UD added to Amia Abroad?
So that Ghaunadaurians and Kiriansaleeians could take it over as their new Drow home. *grin*
Whilst the Llothites moan and bitch, these other two groups plan and build. Good to see some great interactions yesterday in L'Obsul going on between the Ghaunadaurians and Kiriansaleens
