The proclamation is made from the steps of the Commonwealth Center, announcing the Minister's brutal and intentional assassination upon arriving to the Commonwealth aboard the Seastrider. He had been gone on a long mission to acquire experts in the field of magic to work in the Ministry of Magic, but was dead before he could ever set foot on Commonwealth soil. One Law Knight was killed in the assassination attempt, and another injured when the docks, which seemed to have been rigged to explode according to bystanders, collapsed into the ocean. Just prior to the dock's collapse, a small white projectile passed directly in front of Councillor Reyes, prompting him to clutch at his throat, which immediately began gushing blood.

His body was never recovered from the wreckage, but due to the the brutality of the attack and images captured from the deceased Law Knight's mind by a Mage Guard, which confirmed unknown accomplices that further mutilated the Councillor at the bottom of Cordor Harbor, he has been declared murdered.

The people of the Commonwealth are gathered to hear the news, and the Mage Guard who scoured the waterlogged mind of the Law Knight at the scene of the crime addresses the public.

I have seen the face of our leader's murderer, and it is not without some hesitation that I bring it forward. What you are about to see may shock you. It may confuse you. It may seem as a joke, but the eldritch arts in which I deal are no laughing matter, nor is the gravity of this situation. We, the people of the Commonwealth, are most assuredly under attack by forces that are beyond our immediate comprehension, but every individual and agent in the Commonwealth Government is working diligently to not only uncover the true Enemies of the State, but to do whatever it takes to put an end to this slaughter once and for all.

The Mage Guard is quiet for a moment, and he begins wringing his fingers together, bending the light in various directions as he works on an incredible illusion. As I read the mind of the dead Law Knight, I was able to see all that he saw in the last moments of his life. I shall not horrify you with these most graphic details, but I will show you...

And there, on the flat, monolithic face of the Commonwealth Center opposite the growing statue of Duke Montgomery, plays a panoramic scene: the Seastrider in the peripheral, a Law Knight and Minister Reyes. It is as though the entire image is being seen through someone's eyes - and indeed, they are, through the eyes of the dead, as remembered by the Mage Guard and recreated through his illusory arts.

Time slows down to a crawl. Minister Reyes begins to walk forward down the dock, and there is a quick flash of white that draws a gasp from the crowd, followed by a tiny splash in the water next to the giant vessel. The image spins backwards, even more slowly, until it stops, frozen on the face of the murderer, zipping towards Collin Reyes' throat at a deadly speed...

Bewildered, confused, disbelieving, but at the same time, frightened by the sheer human malice in the Gull's eyes, the people return to their homes and lock their doors. A standing order is delivered to the Guards to carry fast-action crossbows and to put a bolt into every seagull until the one that murdered the Councillor is found. There is a brief outcry from animal rights enthusiasts, but it is quickly silenced by the people of the Commonwealth, who care little for seagulls and who care everything about living to see the next morning.

*Christophan Warrick blinks on hearing the news, having been mostly just tending to more basic duties and not getting out much*

~.. I thought i heard about someone like this.... but.. I never actually expected it. ~ he thought to himself, surprised and muttering something about getting his hearing checked.

Weston cannot deny that he dilights to hear the proclomation, how could he with what he had heard? And yet part of him writhes inside. He stays long enough to hear the words in the very back of the crowd and leaves Cordor in a flurry.

Yet, by the next day, he finds himself struggling with a letter that he has thrice written and tossed aside that would have been adressed to the commonwealth.

"They were not joking. The rumors, they are true? It only compounds this."

Perfect.. simply perfect.

Upon hearing of this from outside the walls of Cordor, Hashal's horrid cackling can be heard...and, if one listens close enough, they can also hear the death knells of gulls that strayed a bit too close, this sound probably being a none too uncommon one with all the gulls being shot out of the sky.

Jack 'Sharpeye' can be seen shooting down an impressive amount of seagulls with (which he is more than happy to tell anyone) his custom made Zig 60x10mm bolt repeating crossbow with iron wires and rubber silencers.

Willow sighs and shakes her head at the news that seagulls are being shot down by the people of Cordor.

Great... it seems like with one problem being solved, another two take it's place...

Willow sighs again and heads out of the Bendir Dale house she was in, making her way toward Wharftown via portal.

Down in the crowd he stands, coughing, struggling not to laugh as the mage guard informs everyone of Reyes untimely death. The picture of the seagul was too much for his frail mind, and after mere moments he's leaving in a hurry, casing a Haste spell to get away faster yet.

Once safely landed at the Triumvir, he breaks down, roaring with laughter and gaining himself a few scrapewounds as he beats his hands against the ground.

That's the best joke ever! Ever!

The people at the Triumvir, aware enough of who e is, as for long he has made it his home or second home, depending on the time, would easily notice that he may be taking a tad too much pleasure in another man's death. Maybe his humour has gotten a tad too twisted.

Sigrin 'The Ditch', with his ear ever hovering above the ground, quickly catches the news.
'I always warned them this would happen, I did!' he proclaims, sorrowfully to himself, on his favourite bench in Cordor. 'Always told 'em it would be the seagulls who got us in the end! Rats of the sky, feathers of fury, beaks none the nice on the backside. They knew the old mage was coming, and made a plan. Trust me. The animals are always the first to know...'

A copy of the notice makes it away into Wharftown, blown off a cart passing through from Cordor. Haylee catches it, and looks at the picture, then gasps.

"Oh George, I'm so disappointed."

In the brokentooth caverns a old goblin shaman would have very good, loud and wicked laugh when getting informed about the happening. He eventually would mutter something about pink skins getting what they deserve and light himself a pipe filled with odd smelling herbs to celebrate the event.

*Simon, an old wizard recently started thinking about possible people who could be connected to the murder, the terrorism. He pondered and started speaking about the matter with one of the Mage Guards.

The guard himself, tried his best to ignore Simon's long debate, and mostly stared up at the sun, wishing he was going off duty soon*

-"You know...A seagull just "Doesnt" Rip one's throat away... They just dont'. Not those i know of.
And im quite sure you gangster's allready thought about domination, but i'll say it anyway.
Domination!"-

*He pauses, thinking*

"- But... since seagulls are ...animals. A dominate spell "should't" have been cast by a Mage, we just dont' have that spell in our repertoar. "-

*He glances up at the Mage guard, and the pained expression the mage guard shows*

-" I think it's a druid. And i think its a druid terrorist. Do you know any Druid terrorists?"-

*The poor mage guard attempts to look over and thought and beside Simon, attempting any means of ignoring him*

-"But what would a Druid gain about killing this guy? He -was- the ministry of magic...Sure. You think it's a conflict between the Mystrans and the Red Wizards?
Maybe...I don't know, I know they were 'accused' of burning the orphanage. But i don't belive half of the garbage people say nowdays."-

*He pauses for a few moments and looks around the place he's standing, It's by the docks, and the poor guard have endured about an hour of monotom argumentation*

-"There's the banites... there's the Cyricist. There's always the groove? But ...Don't know. Maybe from within? "-

-" Hey, who would be appointed "After" Minister reyes? You know, Take his spot? "-

On a simple outing from her home in search of some replacement clothing, the druidess Nawien came upon the fallen gulls and after being informed of the happenings writes to the commonwealth.

I first want to lend my condolences over the loss of your Minister, his unfortunate death is a atrocity and my heart is saddened and goes out to your city, and it's people.

However though I understand your concern, and anger, the destruction of all gulls is an atrocity upon itself. I have doubt that the simple avian are responsible of such a act, of such complexity and precision. The malice of such an act is of a nature of a person.

Simply, your causing yourselves harm, nature is a balancing act, if you remove one of the pieces without forethought, the action will cause disturbance and discord among the whole. As scavengers they provide a vital service, cleansing the waste of others that is of use to them. Besides this the aspect of disease caused by the putrefaction of a bulk is a real and serious risk to the general populace.

I offer my service as a druid of the Okamist Vale to you if such will help this matter. I do not ask anything, but you to properly consider and weigh the events and the actions you are taking.

Nawien Wolfskin, of the Grove.
