As of the slander going around regarding myself as someone who trades with banites, I would say this. Merely offering a low sum, for an artifact is hardly a crime. This is NOT a donation! *NOT written in large, bold letters* Their delicate flyers stated that anyone with relations to Winya, are not taken into account.
I was hoping to gain a rare, relative powerful artifact for small coin, although there most likely never was a deal in sight to begin with. My interests are artifacts and crafting weapons the people of this realm will enjoy and cherish. As a freelance merchant, you can not always be a critic and ask the customer WHERE their beliefs lie, whether they are evil at heart, or simply a fanatic. Should I do that, I might as well throw my wares into the sea.

I can see that a certain someone may be spreading slander, maybe because of greed or the fear of being outbid. A bold, tactical maneuvre indeed and completely unnecessary. *A masterly drawn arrow that is decorating the flyer, is discreetly pointing in the direction of the flyer posted by Dawnbringer Al'Kajanti*

If you wish to spread slander about merchants, dealing with unethical characters, try starting with Hil'rash and the fine lady in the temple of Waukeen. Even the tradesman in Bendir Dale would be guilty.
Business is business, as those merchants know.

I hope you understand this, from a neutral point of view, though some will find it hard, others impossible.

Ah, but you are not a merchant in an open bazaar, dealing with whomever walks along to buy your figs and honey are you? No, an advertisement, boldly stating and stamped "CHURCH OF BANE" was posted and YOU approached the Banite of your own free will. Now you come mounting your defense, hands dirty and guilt evident on your mind. Your defense? I did it out of greed and material lust, not to aid the Banite. Charming.

As to the Banite, I stated fact. Though I consider trading with a Banite to be slanderous I find it odd that you do as well, given your position. Nonetheless, the trader offered you a sum did he not? Whether accepted or not is irrelevant, he handed you the option to profit from his offer. If you profit, your Church is benefitted. The Seller specifically stated they will not deal with enemies of Lathander and the knowledge of the mans' dealings and contacts obviously factors into this sellers trading decisions. As they evidently do in your own, as I noted your numerous trading "restrictions". That another would be as judicious with whom they trade as you are offends you? Ah yes, do as I say, not as I do.

I feel no remorse whatsoever, bidding on the artifact as little remorse I felt bidding on the mythal, you so desperately seek to possess. Instead of creating misleading accusations, you simply could have used your relations with the seller in the first place, no?
In your world, there is good and evil and nothing in between.
I bid on artifacts presented from Lathander and Bane. Yes, the church of Lathander will not deal with enemies of their church, nor will the church of Bane. The Lathandrian seller did not see me as an enemy, only you did and amusingly only after I overbid you. I find it to be a pathetic attempt to gain the upper hand in a bargain. Certainly you may have gained the upper hand by devious means. I congratulate you from all my heart.

Again, sarcasm loses its charm on paper. In your spiteful and delusional greed, you mention I have restrictions, to whom I trade with. Should you have the time to read the note more carefully, they are mere examples that I thought you might understand, obviously without effect. You are simply stating what you want to understand, not what is actually written and even pushing the matter into the absurd.

For the record, I did never get to "dirty my hands" as you claim, nor was it likely with all their restrictions - yet an interesting try. On the other hand, by trying to block a neutral trade, you might have caused the church of Lathander to lose capital by intervening in an auction and thereby reducing the funds for charity.

A neutral party like myself, will never side with anyone. I would prefer trading with pleasant, honest people, rather than the potentially dangerous ones. But an artifact is an artifact, no matter who found it.

It was my honest belief that the church of Lathander didn't recruit bitter, petty people, whom I'm glad only to know one of.

I wish the church of Lathander best of luck with its auctions.
