Don't you just hate when you accidentally click respawn while hunting, by trying to heal yourself and than you loose the money and xp for nothing?

Well it happened to me 2 times in 2 days. Yesterday and today. that is 3400 xp thrown away for nothing.

One moment I'm trying to heal myself, the next moment I am 1700 xp lower than I was before I tried to heal.

Perhaps this should be prevented somehow becouse it is really painfull? I mean it is not all about xp and gold but I think that this is something that should be our own decision. Respawning or waiting to be raised, (or quit the game eventually).

Discuss...

but... it is our own decision. I've never had this problem, the sidebar and my respawn button are nowhere near each other.

im not talking about the sidebar. i click the side bar, click the heal spell or whatever and than I try to click my toon with it but than the one milisecond before i click i die and than i click respawn button that suddenlly appears.

i know, it is hilarious but also very painfull. especially when you are in a 6 member party and you are about to be raised any second after your death.

Use the portraits to Heal with. It's a good habit for a Cleric to get into anyway, since you'll often misclick in melee.

Um... If you've got your heal-pots ready in the quick-slots, you can just click them and they heal you automatically. So instead of being inefficient and dragging the crap to your toon (which is dumb), just do that.

The only time you need to drag the icon of the heal pot to something in order for it to heal is on your summon.

And if you are a cleric and you're healing yourself; then the portrait is the best... But that's been said four times already.

I'm sure there's a way to just click a spell that casts automatically on self. *Le shrug* What am I thinking? Bioware didn't put THAT much effort in.

This comes down a simple matter of LRN2PLAY.

I tend to just misclick and bloody well blow Heal potions mid RP sometimes.

Many can attest to this.

a small price to pay to get rid of annoying nasal congestion that can interrupt rp. (thats your IC reason to blow heal pots)

I still remember the day when I morded myself, immediately died to mobsters from having no buffs on and (the last) GS removed, after which I instantly managed to press the respawn button when I actually tried to cast GS on myself from a scroll while having the inventory up.

Good stuff.

I radial dial everything, so never have to leave my number pad when casting on self :D

Hate when that happens. Usually when the lag is bad and you're mashing the mouse button and all of a sudden... oops! Damn!

You can do that? You mean in the party list? I never knew that.

Of course, if your party is big, or the list is bugged, or you accidentally click a member who's in another area....

Yes, and you can use that to read their bios also (and probably radial dial, but curiously I've not tried that).

Maybe it would be an idea to delay the first appearance of the You are Dead panel for oh, ten to fifteen seconds? Then you will definitely notice that you're dead, Jim, and won't accidentally click the respawn button.

I'd find that annoying, tbh. Having to lay there for so long in limbo.

15 seconds is not a long time

Still an inconvenience, since it would happen every time, as opposed to the very rare instance of accidentally clicking respawn.

10 to 15 seconds of waiting so that there is no chance you lose all the xp you just grinded out is really not that big of a deal.

No, I'd just find it a nuisance. I've no problem with it being instigated though, so long as it didn't take an excessive amount of effort and didn't create problems with things like raising people.

Have to agree with the general flow here. It's not worth fool-proofing (mind, I'm in no way calling you a fool). It's one of those things you just have to learn to avoid and to accept if it happens.

The worst case is you lose 2,900 XP and 40,000 GP in a single misclicked respawn. Nothing big in the big scheme of your journey to level 30. Charge it to (player) experience.

Dude, one player posts a negative opinion and you call that a 'flow'. Sheesh. Remind me not to share any more brilliant ideas with you.

If you're all on your lonesome and have nobody to resurrect you on the spot, the major time factor in getting back to the action is going to be area loading time plus portal time plus running time, which could be a lot more significant than a fifteen-second safety pin.

If someone is going to raise you, then a delay in seeing the GUI of doom is not going to be a big deal.

Yeah I agree that the main reason for missclicking the respawn button is lag.
It lags when you should heal but it is INSTANT when you click respawn.

Not even 15 seconds. 5 seconds would do good. I mean I faced it. I lost 1700 + 1700 xp in a two days but if that could be prevented by delaying the "death menu" than why not?

it is rare but it happens and when it does it sucks...really bad. for example it instantly killed my wish to play anymore that day (and the next day again).
