I've -never- actually seen the Spawn of Moander, but reckon it'd be my favourite if I do see it.
Currently, I like the Lupinal.
I love how its got good AC, DR, AB and can Knockdown most things easily enough. I also like how it casts Hammer of the Gods before attacking, since most things at that level won't save.
Finally, it looks cute!

For Evil, probably the Erinyes, because it's AC is decent, works at a decent pace to kill spawns and serves the party like another member, though not quite as good as PC party members.
Neutral, Juggernaut, Imo, it's the toughest out of the three arcane IX summons, has an Onhit stun and I think it also KD?
Good, Androsphinx, because it casts Hammer of the Gods and over all just looks boss.
Favourite out of the three would be the Andro, reminds me of lions and lions are khool <3.

I always found Celestial Avengers and Hound Archons cool. Not sure if they're powerful these days, but they're so damn cool.
I remember running the FoD with Gagis (when he was a newbie Sorc in a robe, back in 05), all the rest of us just trying to live while his Fireballs and FWed Hound Archon cleaned house. Good times.

The Gelugon. Essentially a pocket level 18 fighter for every level 15+ LE wizard. Can be buffed to have at least a 30 main attack, as well as 43 AC without too much difficulty. Coupled it's large HP and regen makes it an awesome summon.
Ive always loved the Celestial Avenger and Hound Archon, i dont know exactly why but they seem pretty cool. Buff em up and they can pretty much replace party members.
A druid can get it as soon as level 7 and is then pretty much set for the rest of up to 24.

Elemental swarm, but in second comes the beholder.
I don't have to buff my elemental swarm, has almost as much hp per spawn as the Nature elemental, and when it does, replaces itself, so one lvl 9 spell is like four lvl 8 spells with indefinite duration.
Beholder for it's sexy central eye.

I like the Shadow Lord, too. It looks pretty cool and it's fun to see damage numbers of 350 pop up when it drains the higher end spawn's strength to 0 and kills it.

I don't remember what rank it was. But I had an evil PC use a scroll and got a Gorgon. That surprised me quite a bit. It seemed to decently tank for what I needed. But hey; I just loved the idea of "See Bull, see bull turn you to stone."
I'm more to the Latern Archon. Just for the roleplay sillyness of treating them like a special companion. I think it's fun to call an orb of floating light.
Mhmm... I should see if they can be allowed as a re-skin :O "My light tromps you!"
EDIT:
Red Bull gives you wings, but my Gorgon will fix that!

Helmed Horror. Its a construct, it looks cool, it wields a sword, can brew cappucino between battles, and my char insist that its name is Gaston.

the only summon i'll ever use, besdies summon 9 or gate, is beholder.
though, i LOVE evil summon 4, with its 3 free fireballs and then attack. Perfect for a low-mid level cannon mage. I am pretty sure my cleric used it until around level 15 actually, when it stopped being useful.

Sasha, Frey's summon.
It's HILARIOUS to watch a little girl go charging after giants and the like, then fear them.
*content sigh*
