Okay. I would like to know what lore does this server use and how heavily it uses lore.
As I can't comprehend some of things that go around in the server honestly.
1. Is this a heavy rp server or medium or light?
2. How strongly it takes cannon lore?
And note I wouldnt want much spam here, just matters about the questions I ask. Thank you very much.

It's pretty much a hybrid 3.0/3.5 FR setting (predominantly 3.0 considering nwn IS 3.0) and all 3rd edition lore is accurate. However, you have to be flexible and not "but the lore says this." People like playing freaks and not everything lore based is 100% possible.
For example, Gruumsh's doghma says destroy everyone but there's not enough evil orc PCs to put that into practice so I make due with what I've got and focus dominantly on killing the elves.

From some of the very opinionated post's i have had in reply to questions or requests i would have to say we are "heavy" RP.
However we are only "heavy" RP in relation to LORE that is... seen to be "important" by the individuals policing LORE, sometimes people just make stuff up and if it's fun and enjoyable people just go with it (" i think that's freat but within "boundrys"),
I think form what i have learnt it is best to follow the LORE of F.R fairly close, however keep in mind that "life" is all about change and many other Plots in AMIA can changed that LORE as well as character interactions.
Amia is a land of "adventure" types and misfits, you certainly don't see this many half dragons or Epic level characters in "Neverwinter" or "Waterdeep".
Basically stick to the LORE if you can of FR, if you find that it's not "Correct" send a tell to the person and questions them OCC and maybe help with if they don't understand, alternatively i believe you can post in the LORE thread to get the DM say on what is recommended as well as you can request in the request section to "Edit" your Lore, as i did to make Valkins status as a Thayvian Diplomat legitimate.
Hope that helps buddy.

No, it's not. Such as the Duchess of Malbolge is not the Hag Queen (as stated in 3.0) but Glasya (3.5).

Incase you didn't know it's still all 3rd edition. I don't see a 2 or 4 in front of the point.

Actually, I believe we use 3.5 on Amia Gal. Cause 3.5 is basically correcting all the mistakes 3.0 made.
I'm hoping a 4.5 will come to correct all the mistakes 4.0 made.

I'd say that Amia caters to everyone in terms of RP. If you want Heavy RP you can have that, just find the right crowd. Medium RP is probably the most widespread. Light RP, well, that's obviously there aswell.
I've no idea about the lore, but all in all it seems to me that it's mostly handled fairly well.

That made me lol. I must say, a 4.5 would be strangely luring.

Mostly what my countryman said. As for lore. Amia is set in the forgotten realms and we follow the lore for that to a very large degree. There are a few exceptions but mostly you can count on if it is cannon then we run by it.

You mean run from it? Most people I know don't want to run infront of cannons.

Well technically you run alongside a canon and thats not so bad isn't? Few cannons can shoot sideways

I'm not sure what the definitions of heavy, medium and light are.
If it's defined by DM enforcement of a percentage of time actually typing in the talk channel, then: light.
If it's defined by percentage of time when you are considered to be in-character in a FR setting: 100% heavy once you're past the entry mirrors.
If it's in terms of DMs micromanaging lore-correctness of characters who are just minding their own business: light.
If it's in terms of DMs agreeing to run events or just possess NPCs for you, give DC and thence rebuilds and custom items: heavy.

I think it's a combo of all that Uce. In which case it defaults to mediums given that some are light, some are heavy.

I would however say, that please do not treat it as light, E.G actually say something, at least "Hello", when you hunt, that sort of thing. Feel free to try and generate the spirit of more in depth RP when you hunt, and certainly when not hunting. The more in depth it gets, the better it gets.

If a new player in entrance would ask me this (you obviously are not new) I would say:
Medium RP:
you can find every type of RP, in depth and more shallow, just have to find the right players which could happen quicker or slower depending on what you do and where you go.
The necessities of a heavy RP-enforced server are not here either, no need to eat sleep poop and play sims if you dont want to.
depending if on what they want and the players i see on the list i could or could not point them to a certain location or person on the server then.
Lore:
the amian rule is you dont need to know squat about FR Lore, but the server follows it in that extent that if you do something blatantly wrong you will get it pointed out (ie. Vampires dont sparkle in the sunlight) and will teach you as you go.
Also, since this rule is in state anything not enforced by game mechanics can be negated by fellow players (unless DM overrules it) but in general they will go along with it unless you're pulling really silly or annoying things out of your sleeve, or if you're metagaming/godgaming (ie. detect evil/good will not always be answered, certain pnp spells depending on how fun they are for all parties involved will be happily agreed upon, and making it a fun environment for all by whatever means possible is encouraged)
Now, since you are not a new player, I am wondering what brought this thread up? unless of course its a specific incident that should not be mentioned on forums.

Alright. Obviously had many answers and thanks for that. Now the third question:
With necromancy do we use this:
Quote: Moral Option 1: The Crawling Darkness
Many DMs will choose to have Negative Energy in general, and undead in particular, be inherently Evil. So much so that we can capitalize it: Evil. And say it again for emphasis: Evil. That means that when you cast a negative energy wave you are physically unleashing Evil onto the world. When you animate a corpse, you are creating a being whose singular purpose is to make moral choices which are objectionable on every level.
That’s a big commitment. It means that anyone using Inflict Wounds is an awful person, at least while they are doing it. The Plane of Negative Energy is in this model the source of all Evil, more so than the Abyss or Hell. It’s Evil without an opinion, immorality in its purest most undiluted form. Or this? Quote: Moral Option 2: Playing with Fire
Many DMs will choose to have Negative Energy be a base physical property of the magical universe that the D&D characters live in – like extremes of Cold or Fire it is inimical to life, and it is ultimately no more mysterious than that. An animate skeleton is more disgusting and frightening to the average man than is a stone golem, but it’s actually a less despicable act in the grand scheme of things because a golem requires the enslavement of an elemental spirit and a skeleton has no spirit at all.
The Plane of Negative Energy in this model is precisely the same as all the other elemental planes: a dangerous environment that an unprotected human has no business going to.
What I have understood the negative energy is not considered evil here but some spells are, which cause negative dmg. Undead summoning = instantly evil.
So which is it?

We actually had a rather large debate about that (that went wonderfully, best one I've had in ages). We did conclude that the spell is inherently evil, but as to whether using it is we remained divided.
Edit: I don't think the Plane of Negative Energy is evil, though ... not sure to be honest. My comment was only about undead.

Negative Energy is not evil by any means. It's simply an energy.
The majority of its uses and applications, however, are.
That's the stance I believe most of us take on the matter.

My character Xal owns a greatsword that is not evil aligned, not evil only, and has 1d6 negative energy.
Proof of the stance I believe.

And more importantly: why should you know? It only leads to metagaming.
We're not 3.0 lore, 3.5 lore, 2e lore or any edition lore, for that matter. Lore is independent of edition, it is a consistent part of the setting. The changes should be considered historical, not, err.. editorial. Bane exists not because we're 3e, but because he was reborn in the Year of the Gauntlet.
All in all, we're not the canon Realms, because the canon Realms only exist in the books. It annoys me when people use it as an accusation or as an estimation of how "good RP" we are: no server or home campaign has ever been canon Realms, because everything you create yourself is homebrew. The Forgotten Realms, as it is presented in the books, is the basis of our world and identical to ours in all aspects that aren't specifically said to be different. We have removed very few things from the setting, we've only added things. Many new areas and DM events are entwined in Realmslore.
In the timeline, we're around late 1373 or early 1374, but it's not set in stone. When it comes to cosmology, we use a mixture of the Tree and the Wheel. That's about the only thing that's relevant In Character.

Because it's fun to know things. It's same with lore, you read it but it can lead to metagaming.
Anyhow, this thread can be locked got everything I want to know. Thank you very much.
