Seriously good advice there.
And is it just me... but I don't really mind when my toon gets curb stomped when he goes exploring, heck I even enjoy it. You laugh about it and move on, try another spot.
Did you not explore A yourself?
I remember when I was constantly being lost in Amia... one moment I was fighting wolves then after getting lost a couple of transitions I get eaten by beholders. One moment I'm somewhat surviving well against the mobs in the Electric Castle, the next I get owned by the lich. Going out of the Blood Moon Orcs, which I soundly beat then suddenly facing a bunch of Mylocks who kills me with ease with their flame arrows. Part of the fun in learning the geography of the place for me *shrugs*.

I thought this thread was more geared in terms of why B-mia lacks players and RP making it inferior to Amia, the monsters could be the coolest, best for grinding or drop epic loot that wont change that the server is being used as a lag free exp/loot farm.

Exploring is all good, but the XP/Gold penalty for dying isn't. The urge not to lose what you have is sometimes stronger than the urge to have exotic adventures.

Priest, change or stop the preaching, please.
This is what ~you~ think.

Saying this over and over doesn't make it so and is a slap in the face to everyone else in the Bmia trying to jump start it. Don't let a few farmers, like me , get to color what Bmia is all about to you.
And if you read the OP and the rest of the thread, we're saying that B-mia is exactly not what you say it is.
What we're discussing now it seems is how to get people out of their comforts zones in A and go explore B.

That's one of the strongest factor in my decisions, to be honest, although I generally do go exploring once I can become invisible / survive.

it being so, makes me say it over and over again.
if your on Boss-mia farming at least your on the server its like my theory on AFKing on it so the numbers go up and people will log onto it and not just spam connect to A or not play NWN at the time.
when I read the thread I see "lets get Quags & Yuan-Ti & FoD...ect type zones or the zones themselves moved over." that just making its better for grinding and farming not RP.
People saying its not newplayer friendly and thats why, but that cant be it because the server has lots of high levels and they are not on B, and its not that hard for new players.
I did Exploring and it was fun I found afew spots where RP plots could happen like I said on the last page about the PM I sent in, but lacked players and DMs and others have had the same problem.
People saying move factions over to force the numbers up.
"ask not what B-mia can do for you, but what can you do for B-mia" so making a character that fits the server like a glove so.
Khem:undead smiting desert people
Forstakkr: inbred xenophobic rednecks
Frozenfar: no towns, no real history. advantage might be you cant do it wrong

Do make some characters instead of bugging the devs for even more hunting areas. Levelling is fine on B and needs no more critters.
Your arguments kinda flawed due to the Kellies, Hoarites and Lathanderites also having the choice of Temples on Amia A. Which is likely the favored area. Helm isn't exactly a massively popular god, I haven't seen a Helmite in ages. Auril has only one worshiper from what I have seen, and the sub-races are dependent on characters starting new mostly, or showing interest.
It's not really a good argument. Though I do agree that no more hunting area's are needed. Simply a more balanced variety of already established social/faction centers. I don't know, some magical spell rips Winya from it's ancient roots and tosses it on a swamp isle in Amia B?

Just on this ... can I ask where? I thought the whole point of them building up in B was because their temple got razed by the Caravan plot.

I believe the Lathender temple in Cordor is still there. Not so sure about the Kelly temple in Benwick, but I think it's still there. Hoarites I assumed where in A since I haven't seen any in B and I've been to most of the public bigger area on B by now.

It was just the Kellies' temple I was referring to - it's gone.

I would have agreed with this a few weeks ago. But then, I decided it was finally time to take my ranger, who had spent most his time on A to Forstakkyr. I walked into the Temple of Helm in Howness expecting it to be empty and there were 4 Helmite PC's engaging in a discussion right near the head priest. Well developed PC's from what I could tell and they engaged my character in RP for several minutes before it was time for him to move on, while they remained in the temple continuing their RP. It was a pleasant surprise.

B has shaped up to where there is no longer a problem, IMO. We don't need perfect 50/50 distribution.
Some more evil guys could get active on B in euro hours though. That would be swell.

I wouldn't mind, at all. But there's aren't too many areas of interest on B, for evil peeps, due to the server being less populated.
Wiltun could have been a great influx for evil peeps. But during the 1½ month I spent in and out of Wiltun, staying on Amia B 99% of the time, there was exceedingly few DMs present, and even less NPC interraction to make up for the smaller amount of PCs.

Perhaps an IC guide to the creatures of B-mia would help encourage newbies to play there. Something like the Kobold>Orc>Trog>Troll pattern perhaps, and then cut it off there and encourage the player to gather his/her friends and explore on their own, just to get them kick started.

Since some people seem to have misinterpreted this thread I'll re-phrase.
By any definition, the addition of a second server to Amia was an expansion. Paradoxically, however, Amia has shrunk.
This isn't wholly a B vs A thing either, because it has happened with some of the changes on A as well, but there's only one or two examples on A (most notably the Temple of Malar).
When leveling up a character prior to the addition of B, the usual pattern, with slight variation, was something like Goblins, Kobolds, Orcs, Trogs, Trolls, Malar, Spiders, Beetles, FoD, Skull Crags, Bedines, Mino's, Lizardfolk, Ankhremun, Brog Wilderness & Barbarians, Brog Orcs, Yuan-ti, Frost Giants, Mind Flayers, Spires, Abyss, Manour of Mourne, Beholders. There were other areas, but these were the usual ones in approximate order.
Now it's more like Goblins, Kobolds, Orcs, Trogs, Trolls, Spiders, FoD, Lizardfolk, Yuan-ti, Mind Flayers or Spires, Abyss or Beholders. Sometimes the Mino's and Desert critters (less often the Stingers) are between FoD and Lizardfolk. If a PC starts on B they will usually do Caraigh and the Bugh quest before migrating to A.
No Wyverns, Hill Trolls(?), Ogres, funky little Frost/Fire demons, Undead Dwarves, Snakes/Tomb Robbers, or Frost Witches.
Now, I agree with the sentiment that hunting can get boring when you're doing the Spires, for example, for the 500th time. But why is it that now, when there is more variety than ever before, people are not only still going to the same places to grind, but spending more time in fewer areas? I have been seeing PCs start Yuan-ti at around 18 and then staying there until 25 when before the split they would have been going to Brog and fighting Barbs, Orcs, Frost and Fire Giants as well as Yuan-ti. Surely this is more boring than going to the variety of places available for that range on B. Likewise, I have seen PCs staying at Trolls until they're getting single digit XP before moving onto Spiders where they stay until they can go to FoD... rather than going to the places in B that are appropriate.
In short, before the split people were going to two areas at a given CR. Now that there are 3-4 areas of that same CR people are only going to one of them.
Disco asked what level areas were most wanted and gave them to us... but very few people actually use them preferring to spend longer in the same old places as before.

I have to be honest, I have no idea where any of those other high leveled area's are. If I explore, I may blunder into an area like the gauntlet in brog (Which I did once by accident), and die. So I go where I know.

because that one is the only one on Amia and people dislike geting locked out of the server.
if I rebuild I will be doing it on B-mia for the reason of no players so I have the server to myself with no players to bug me, and get to level at grind factor 9.4 (factor 10 would be pay DCs )

But that excuse doesn't fly.
You're going to grind for an hour or two on A.
-OR-
You're going to grind for an hour or two on B.
In neither case are you getting huggled in Cordor, or whatever it is you don't want to get "locked out of". If anything, it is a selfish attitude to have because while you are grinding away on A you are taking up a slot that someone could be using to giggle with in Cordor.

it can go both ways, maybe they are better at killing the monsters on Amia and not B-mia, and if all they are doing is chating in cordor the grinder could say download MSN and chat there.
resets every 4 hours, so what 2 hours hunting on B-mia and then 2 hours of being locked out of Amia with the chance of missing plots, most people wont risk it.
but like I said if I did a rebuild I would try stay on B-mia till I get back to 30, because if I'm not 30 I might end up a liability in RP or events and on B-mia that wont be much of a problem.

Short aswer; when you can solo the undead dwarves, snakes and/or frost witches, they give 1 xp each. The ogres come like ketchup in B. Nothing, nothing, a few, a few, flooded swamped and stomped. Several monster have a bit high ac for their CR (spiders and winterlings more precise) and sneak attacks at the same time (winterlings) which hampers the route to the ogres and the volcanoe. You really have to go through the wyvern/crag cat land to get to the volcanoe if you're anything but a fighter class and wish to explore and survive in Frozenfar.
