Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. Could I ask if there is a map for Amia or something similar. I am fairly new to Nwn1 but have played various d&d's before. Also could I ask about quests, best places to find quests for low levels, I read somewhere that starting in the east is best for low levels. It was not for this server though I think it may of been for the basic Nwn1 Hordes..
Thanks for the help, and again i am sorry if this has been asked before!

I believe that map is out of date, I am not 100% sure but I do believe it is.

That map is lovely to look at but wrong in many respects and wont help you find your way around. Area maps also change from time to time as the server is modified. There is no generally available map of the server, though if you search the forums you may find bits and pieces (most likely out of date by now). See this thread for more information.
If you start in A-mia, areas get harder as you move away from Cordor. If you stick to the roads and cart system you will generally (not always) be safe. I'm not as familiar with B-mia but the Caraigh is the lowest-level area AFAIK (reachable by boat from the start area in Wiltun).

There's a more up-to-date map somewhere.
But no area map. That, you have to figure out yourself. There's also a map in game, in Cordor, that might give you ideas which areas to ask other PCs about.

The ingame map is actually quite accurate.
And there is an area map... you just don't have it!

Sounds like a cool idea for a new job: Cartographer / Map Maker
People could create maps of small areas of Amia, could even sell them. Would be pretty darn handy.

Yus, disco goes to a lot of work to try to make the areas fit up geographically and I love him for it.
The Map Room in Cordor actually is up to date, and I'd recommend heading there. It's a complete map of Surface A server as you're going to get without puzzling together minimap screenshots.

though, if you do puzzle togeather minimap screenshots, feel free to post them. It would greatly aid my raid plans, to be able to draw out a battle plan on screen and give it to all who will attend
edit: of towns, at least.

Besides, it will take ages to do so. I know, because I tried it the screenshot and cutout way with Forrstakkr.
After that I found out how to export the minimaps from the module.

Disco, who was the one to make Cordor's Map Room?
I am trying to gather courage to mess with the toolset and try making one for Wiltun, but the interface scares me.
I only know for sure how to create items, never succeeded in trying to create modules/maps/areas. T_T

The Toolset is scary. I generally like figuring things out for myself but this one just ... rejected me. I know the only thing I ever made was a module, which consisted of exactly one area which I filled with random animals/outsiders/dragons and ran around for a bit before I decided to stick to what I know how to do.
Oh and I have no sense of direction. *hugs portal rod, Mathias of Constantinople and other random guides along the way* I don't think I'd ever be able to make it out of the Forest of Despair on my own, maybe just by accident.
Forever lost... in the forest, with no food but the rotting corpses of nearby chopped up/fried werevolves...

I did, reusing the named placeables of Neus' previous version (which was nice but kinda outdated).

Oh, the trick is placeables, then.

I have a number of idea's on how to pull off the Map dispite the mix 'n' match feel of the Amia B's Area's.
If you need any help Dahlya with the Toolset and can't get a hold of someone who you know has the answer, I'm more then willing to help. I've fiddled with the toolset a lot when I used to create area's for another server.
Give me a message if you need a hand. I'm not to good with advanced scripting but most other stuff I should be okay with.

Oh, I don't think it will need scripting.
Though I am not sure yet if/how I can put labels on the items. I will see what I can or cannot do, and will surely nudge you if I get stuck.

I doubt you'll manage to make a sensible map of all of B's areas in one go. You need to map out half of Faerun to fit in Khem.

I have maps of almost all Amia A's areas and some of B's more common ones, but every time I try to stick them together it drives me nuts because some of the areas are different sizes than the maps show. Amia Forest, for example, doesnt fit nicely. I tried two or three times and gave up. If someone wants to write a computer program to resize a large number of quadrilateral tiles that are linked to each other at several points with minimal distortion, let me know.

If someone's actually gonna do a map, don't be bad sports and do it simply out of the game map images. It's really quite metagamey and makes things too easy.
But anyone embarking on a project to forge a drawn map out of those little game maps for each region (with a reasonable amount of information included, without spoiling the surprises) gets a truckload of cookies for their effort. With or without chocolate, as you prefer.

I could give it a try. I did a map for another server once.

Its incomplete and still needs abit more detail, but hey, I think it looks great. I can't replicate the FR map style though. That is waaay too much work.

And if you were to hop on a boat and sail roughly NE, you would reach the southern coast of Ruathym, where the Mystran Monolith and Fortress Wiltun are located.

I had actually considered, once all my little map images were properly stuck together, making a heightfield out of it, adding a bit of fractal variability and then turning it into a contour map. I know I can resize the map images - the question is knowing which ones to resize. There are several ways the pieces could be made to fit together by expanding or shrinking different tiles. And of course the gaps need to be filled as well.

Well, Jaqueline said she would remake it to be prettier and more complete, and do one for the other islands too. That's why her older map is still posted in R&L, instead of this one. I don't know if she's ever going to do that, though. If not, I suppose this one ought to replace the outdated one.

... yeeeeeeah.
Winya is odd because it fits into the picture "up", not "over". It'sd sitting on top of those cliffs you see in the quagmire. winya is above everything, showiung that the Elves will always be looking down at you, no matter where you go.

The map should actually be turned about 20 degrees counter clockwards. Look at this sketch I made from my (huge) minimap collection.
I guess one of you can turn this into something more appetising.
The brown lines are roads, and the dashed lines are coast bits that do not exist as areas (yet).

*twitch* *twitch* I know for a lot of you English isn't your native language. Just a rule of thumb: apostrophes are never used to pluralize words. Ever.
Apostrophes in English are used to make nouns possessive, contracted words, and on rare occasions used to indicate a letter not apart of an acronym when not using periods (to avoid ambiguous spellings.)
Unfortunately I see more and more native English speakers seemingly putting apostrophes anywhere they want with a lot of people copying them thinking it's proper English grammar.
It's a pet peeve of mine.

Which really seems odd to me that a little island not too far from Kohlingen and the Benwick Hollow has a nonstop war between celestials and infernals...
You can probably wave to them on the Cordor-Kohlingen boat trips.

Actually, it can be a small area with the lands around it that we have at Amia. And I can always place a note saying "Through Portal Only" or something like that.
Though I am curious concerning Frozenfar and Forrstakrr. Are they islands around (well, above, in this case) Wiltun or also lands far, far away only-- oh, nevermind. You can get there using a boat.
EDIT: In my case, I am going to try to make one like the Map Room in Cordor. Not a map like the one posted by Iron.

Forrstakkr is probably the most well mapped place in he game, since disco made it from scratch. The areas match up 110%.

Yes, I know about that. It's just that if I make a map room like the one in Cordor, I will only use a placeable for those places; not a "paper" map.
I just need to know where they all (the snowy areas) are all: if all up north and not some different plane reached only by portal, and what is their disposition.
If Disco had a map of Amia B like the one he posted above of A, it would be easier to make the map room for B. Even if we do some exploring (see Selvec's thread), we cannot know for sure which direction they are.
Unless if somewhere in Wiltun there is something saying that those places are N/S/W/E whatever from Wiltun.

I... you thought Frozenfar, Brog, and Forrstakkr were on different planes?
B is largely unmappable because it exists as 'points of interest' in a vast land of apparent boringness, something that frustrates me to this day.

I remember listening once, a long time ago, that Forrstakrr could be in another plane. Something to do with the Auror-- wait... my memory is messed up, as usual. o.O
There always were boats to the place and to Brog. And Frozenfar, I corrected myself in another post. More like, interrupted myself.
*coughs*
Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that I will need pointers to place them around Wiltun.
EDIT: I am writing from work, too, which means I am kind of distracted when writing, keeping an eye out for customers before they think they are being ignored.
EDIT 2! Argh! Typos.

I sent a possible solution for the sporadic locations of B's area's to both Tormak and Dahlya, so eh.

Life and geography are similar in one respect: both are as difficult as you want to make it.
