I'd like to know how many players would be interested in starting an adventuring / RP group Wednesday nights (starting around 11PM Eastern) on Amia B for 90mins to 2 hour sessions.
Ideally I'd like to see a well-rounded group of adventurers get together for an alternate night of fun on that server (that can handle scheduled traffic). I'd suggest limiting progression rate to 1 level per week so when we get together for each session, we don't end up with characters of vastly different abilities.
If you have a very low level character (say, 4 or under) or have another character you've wanted to play on a temp basis, post here!
Depending upon interest, we can use this forum to create a backstory and intended direction for the group....

Count me in.
I have a halfling lowbie. He's level 5 at this point. He is a rogue/fighter and can handle the locks and traps or serve as a frontliner if needed. I'm a slow leveler so one level a week would be super.

Joining up a little later is always good. We can use the party invite to bring in those who come later once the players are identified.

Dibs on the half-orc that although is half intelligent. Forgets things easily, like where he is at, his name, and randomly falls to sleep. But when he is awake He can kill!

Eastern (daylight savings) is -4 GMT, me thinks. I guess that means 11 PM is around 3 AM to 6 AM in Europe. Too bad for us.
That's early afternoon on that remote island continent, right?

Okay, then it's set.
I want to play a concentrated mage with a bend to item creation.
START DATE ONE WEEK FROM THIS WEDNESDAY... 11PM EST. (I am out of town this coming wednesday)
Anyone starting above a total NEWBIE should plan on holding back advancing. Total Newbie characters should come ready to head to Carigan so if that means spending a few minutes on the server over the next couple weeks getting him/her equipped and doing "cellars" quest to be ready, so be it.
I'll post my character and player names before we start so any late-comers can "tell" message me to join up.

He means get your basic gear, whatever supplies you need at level 2, and be ready at that time. In a group you can handle the area you are going to.

Ideally we will start with characters level 2 but with items bought and ready to head to on an excursion to adventure.
I personally created my Mage over the weekend and ran the first basic quests to properly equip him and get him started down the job track I want. In the process, he leveled to 3.
I won't be playing him again until a week from Wednesday.
We should have a group identifier along with a name... I'm working on a few backstories I will post as options.
Anyone have an objection to using "Red Cloaks?" and wearing cloaks (at least out of combat if one is not used there) of Cherry?

I'll try to keep a running intended adventure area for the group for those who may want to join in at some point down the road or who come late to a night (and for DM info in case they want to have some fun with us)
Wednesday July 22 -- Caraigh, Goblin areas, cave, and extended area accessed through the cave. CHARACTER LEVEL -- 2/3
Wednesday July 29 -- Caraigh, Orcs and Forest areas -- obviously accessed through the goblin areas. CHARACTER LEVEL -- 3/4
Wednesday Aug 5 -- Caraigh, Blackmoor. CHARACTER LEVEL -- 4/5
I'll try to keep a running schedule three weeks out.

Cherry colored is fine for my little fella. Cloak coloring is free in the crafting menu so let's go for it.
No objection to a nickname for the group although my guy has a personal nickname that will not affect the backstory or anything.
I've stopped leveling my pc and now waiting for the group as he's a level higher anyways. He's all equipped and ready for the word "go".

Anyone planning on playing an existing character, please message me the backstory. I'm developing a few very open concepts, but I think we only have one or two built characters and I'd like to publish an idea before I leave for vacation this week for those developing their character ideas.
So far we have a mage, rogue, and barbarian type. Sounds like we could use a Cleric and at least one specialty character is always fun (monk, druid, etc)

I play as an fighter/archer/arcane archer, if you need my bio pm me as ill have to get it from my online account also it would possibly need to be altered to fit, i am level one but maybe higher by the end of tonight, if other classes are needed instead - as i would like to join this rp - i do not mind creating a fresh pc with a different bio that fits into this rp scope.
Please let me know.
Thanks.

My barb needs a caretaker, someone who looks out for him because they are nice... and he is dead without someone waking him up all the time or telling him what his name is, damn that intermittent amnesia!
Anyone willing to take on a drooling idiot?

Yay!
4 PC's then? Mage, Cleric, Barbarian, Rogue? The classic formula, tried and true. Still enough room for a familiar and a summon to round out the mix.

Might wanna clear that with the boss man.. if its an evil death summon it might change how it goes... the barb wont know the difference so i have no problem.. I will use a 2 hander, so would be nice to split aggro.

From what i understand, you summon an aspect of death, not an undead creature. Death in and of itself, and it's aspect, isn't evil, it's part of the natural order of things. My cleric is definitely not evil, she's neutral
EDIT: I just checked in game, you dont summon an undead, you summon an 'inferior death' at lvl 2. It looks like a stereotypical death figure, scythe and all

Evil clerics summon undead (as their "Death" domains mean Velsharoon or the like as a patron), Good and Neutrals summon outsider "deaths" from the Fugue Plane (as their "Death" domain means Jergal or Kelemvor, or racial deities).

Here's a general backstory without specific locations. So far the backstories I have are from fairly rural characters, so I think this will work.
A few years ago, massive Troglodyte raids in the coastal areas destroyed many small hamlets; killing many families and depleting resources of the surrounding strongholds. Those capable went off to battle, many never returned.
During this time, many youth of the area sought haven within the walls of Fortress Wiltrun. And during their hours, they vowed to become powerful enough to ensure no enemy could threaten their diverse homes again.
Here the notion of the "Red Cloaks" was formed. While these individual youths still followed paths and trades, they agreed to meet together and hone their skills and talents so that, individually, they might be a force against any future raids on their individual towns or clans.
And collectively... well... we shall see....
That's Idea #1, I'm certainly open to alterations.

I like it. Isayah already wears red =P
Also, its specific enough to give the party a common goal and vague enough to support various walks of life. Isayah hates bullies and being bullied, so he'll be pretty driven to stomp some arse.

My character will be Melf Smyte -- an Elven Mage with a particular interest in building up his small enclave of Elves in the Forests of Amia near Warftown.
His driving interests are in weapon forging to rearm the Elven outposts weakened by the Troglodyte raids and strengthen himself so he may ensure none are able to pillage as they did before. He, as many of his kind, is also fond of archery and swordsmanship. But down deep, he'd rather learn the magical and mechanical means to forge such weapons than to be known for his skill with them.
He is also one of the first from his hamlet to venture into the wider world; so he is anxious to meet and forge allies amongst nearby races with similar aims.

Assuming Melf and the Barbarian met during this raiding period in Wiltrun, Melf would view him as a very useful experimenting platform for his future magical weapon creating skills.
And Melf is big on ensuring the tanks between him and steel are well protected so he can cast spells in relative peace.
If that works I'll volunteer Melf for the Barbarian's "leash".

I managed to craft up about 6 Cherry cloaks for the group Wednesday.
Cherry is color 91 for those wanting to use their own. The main color is all I'd like to peg. The rest of the cloak can be of style and trim as desired.
I have a couple organizational issues to put on the table:
1) Spoils -- Item drops will be shared in group order. Whatever is dropped on your turn, you take. Obviously, characters are free to "horse trade" during rest periods or after the adventuring is done.
2) Characters above the level limit for the week (this week level 4 and up) should not participate in spoils of the group. This will allow the lower-level characters some catch-up cash and it should encourage everyone to stay close in level.
The Plan for Wednesday will be to meet up at 11PM Eastern, do a little initial RP and any prep necessary, then head out for goblin/rat killing around 11:30PM.
Assuming we do have a number of participants Wednesday and for a few weeks, we'll put together a group folder and post plot explanations for each week's adventure.
Can't wait. Thanks for joining up!

Cloak: I logged in last night to color my cloak so I'm all set there.
Loot:
The loot order thing is fine and standard. I'm above level and don't mind forgoing this weeks loot to aid the group as the first few weeks we'll be scrimping for cash. I agree with this on an OOC level as my PC would never IC do so. I also suggest once we pass a certain level, as long as we are within party range that a simple rotation without level exception should be followed. We should all have ample funds in a few weeks for our needs and propping up of the cash poor shouldn't be an issue. Staying in party range is ample reason IMO for us all to stick together.
Death:
At this low level if a death occurs it's likely best to respawn and let the PC catchup XP on an alternate day if needed. I don't expect we'll have the coin to use raise dead scrolls for a few weeks.
Group Folder:
I'd use PC Story forum (as opposed to General Discussion) as the group "folder" if you will. Start a thread and just keep it updated.

Yes, with the only exception being level, the rotation should just be in order without respect to level. It's just easier that way. If this continues to roll, we can chose a night "MVP" to be first in the rotation next week.
Death -- Good point on death. The XP penalties for death are not too steep at low level so re-spawn should be the expectation.
Once we get through some of the meta-gaming needs of the group to adventure, we can more realistically RP what characters would do.
The PC Story forum is what I meant to convey... we will start a folder there assuming we can get by the first few weeks and get this thing rolling.

I helped a friend of mine install the game and get it upgraded last night. So we will have one total noob with us as well.... a WoW refugee...
I'm all ready to go. I am traveling around just before game time but even if I am a bit late, it won't be more than 5-10 mins.
I plan to wait in the entry area (before entering Wiltun) until my newbie friend gets here. That may give us a chance to establish individual backstories before moving to the IC areas anyway.

Eeek! Noob! Flee!
Seriously, tell him/her to get a forum access for a proper intro to the world here.
We'll also need a few minutes to set some IC groundrules. I'd hate for someone to *cough cough* accidentally trip over some unseen object for hacking off the rogue.
