I love this idea. If we have multiple portals, make it so you don't know where you'll come out. :)

The only flaw with making it random, fully, is the chance of splitting up a group who doesn't really seek to be parted. Which, I don't know how often the Shadowplane gets groups traveling in together.

I think we'ed prefer 1 stable portal and the other little niches could be more random.

Or just 1 stable portal hidden away so Shadowscape isn't Isolated from B. A portal in Wiltun's arse would work too. Although I expect he'd be charging a fine for using that.

Thats not what I meant... they would always go to and from the same place, just without matching return portals.

Anyway, made a first exit out of SS. Will think of some entry point as well.

Put a portal in Zanshibon. Probably the most likely place, being as it's a lower plane itself, and the most likely place on B to have portals to other planes.

Shadowscape can have portals anywhere. No need to put a portal into some another distant plane to make it more mystic. On A its accessible via the Amia Forest.

Shadow Plane isn't a lower plane, FYI. It's Transitive along with the Ethereal.

Manual of the Planes is a good read, if you want to find out a lot more. Otherwise the DM Guide contains enough info to get by IIRC.

Heres a small way to look at it.

There are the Three main Transitive Plans.
1: Astral
2: Etherreal
3: Shadow

The Higher Planes are more inclined to use the Astral Plane for transportation.

Not too sure who is more inclined to use the Ethereal. I think its just whoever wants to.

The Shadow Plane you are more likely to see lower planars and maybe not the greatest of folk. Since the Astral and Ethereal have more good aligned folk travleing on it.

None of these effect the actually alignment of the Plane itself, BTW. Lower Planars do travel the Astral and Higher Planars will take the Shadow. I honestly will need to look up more on the Ethereal Plane, I do not know enough about it.

If anything is wrong here, just tell me. I'll grab the Manual of the Planes again and get the exact info.

I vote for a portal to Mystra tower. Both are neutral grounds. And they have the boat to Wiltun where you can get a boat everywhere.

Shadowscape has traditionally been home to a lot of mortal enemies of mystra's. Can't see the portal happening, myself.

Well, I have two more city gates, so I guess I'll make two more 'mirror' areas. Not sure where yet, I suppose you don't want those portals to popup in main street.

Stick it on that tropical island paradise by the Alamber Sea?

I get a giggly from the idea of the creeping sourpusses trying to look all rapier sniffing black clad badass on a beach, when you'd look nine times better in floral shirt and clutching a daquiri.

Well, I imagine a portal TO shadowscape to be in a shady environment if it's one of those 'step through' things.

Actually, that gives me an idea...

I'm confused. Are you saying a portal out of SS has been implemented? I had my SD wander all over SS (including the wilderness areas outside the city walls) and never found anything. It frustrates the bejezus out of me when I can't find things I know are there.

It did. Forgot to change the update number. It's in, it works, and it's easy to find from SS city.

OMG I love you. I can't say how long I have wanted Shadow Plane versions of other areas. This gets 1000000000/10 from me.

Is there a rift in each one of the three areas? I liked it. Well, didnt get the boat to go back, but quite cool idea nonetheless.

I think she means the Desert Shadow Plane area. I don't think there is any rift there yet.

Not yet. Think I'll add an extra area there.
