There are certain areas in Amia that cause my CPU to crash when I enter them, rendering that character unplayable until the next reset. I have downloaded the CEP packs, which have not had an effect on my game. I also use a mac. Can anyone help me?

Which areas? (Also, you could get around this issue by logging onto the other server instead.)

I've had this issue aswell, and I also use a Mac.

Are you using the "gimped" version of NWN? ie, bought a windows version and went through the process of making it work on the mac. That's what I'm using on this computer, and it tends to do that every now and then.

The areas (for me) have been random at best, and logging onto the other server doesn't help. Usually because either:

A; it affects an area on the opposite server, causing the same problem.
B; when you try to go back to the other server your character is still in the previous area before it gets loaded to whatever area you arrive in via transportation, causing the crash again.

You're not alone Raven ;,;!

Having used the Mac version too I must say it's horribly bugged and you shouldn't expect much of an improvement.

But turn off shiny water.

I have the same problem, I can't get into certain Desert areas, the shop in Bendir, or the shop in Winya, where you can buy the bows.

My computer is more than capable of running the game and such, new system and everything, not even a year old yet, I think it's down to a prblem when I installed NWN, but I never tried Reinstalling since I already did that three other times with other versions for different reasons and the time it takes to do it, I just haven't got the patiende to wait that long again.

EDIT: Im using Windows Vista too.

I use the mac version and don't have any issues, but you definitely want shiny water off.

One patch could be to to log in to B then back to A. So you don't return to the same location you're pc is crashing at.

Doesn't work unfortunately, when you go to B, then port to A, it loads the last Area you were in before taking you to the desired area.

You might try changing what texture pack you use, or your overall graphics level. Update your drivers, turn off shiny water... Not sure what else to tell you.
