In this thread, we leave our negativity behind.

Amia is honestly one of the best servers in all of Neverwinter Nightsdom. With a consistent playerbase, very active DMs, and hardworking developers and designers, the world has a genuine sense of being alive, where anyone can make a difference. A vast variety of personalities inhabit this world, making it fairly simple to find people that share your play-style.

Since I joined here several years ago, I've gone from annoying little noob that nobody liked to a DM that, well, maybe a few people like. Playing with all these different people has greatly improved my social skills, and I believe I've grown as a person. I've made several good friends with people I'd have never met or talked to otherwise, and Amia even caused me to drive all the way up to Canada.

If I find that what I'm currently doing is lacking, there's always the chance for more fun and opportunities for RP just around the corner. And if I happen to not find any players for RP, there's more areas than I can shake a stick at that I can explore. It takes a lot of effort for me to be bored here on Amia.

What do you love about Amia?

I love the funny RP! And some of the people that're really genuine, the only two reasons why i still play.

I've been playing here on and off for a long time. I left for two whole years, to come back to a nearly completely different DM team and playerbase... but to me, it's the same, good old Amia.

I've stayed up for 48 hours straight several times along side of some truly inventive, fun DMs who were on their third cup of coffee right along with me, just so it didn't have to end.

I've seen some of the most beautiful, emotionally charged scenes painstakingly painted across my screen by many players over the years. They've made me giggle madly to myself, shout in surprise, raised my blood pressure, and brought tears to my eyes.

I've had more fun here than I can properly convey, and I truly appreciate the bit of soul every player and DM puts into this silly game that makes it so enjoyable for everyone. The creative freedom, while spawning quite a few ridiculous characters, really allows for an open, accepting environment that is genuinely unique and never gets boring.

I just want to thank everyone who works hard to make this place what it is, and remind everyone that there's a -ton- of good left in the server... if there wasn't, why would we still be here complaining on the forums, anyway? ;)

I love the roleplay. I love all the friends I've made. I love that it's inspired me to write again, something I left behind ages ago and thought I'd never return to. I love that it's made me a thousand times more creative.

aaaaand....

Other reasons.

If it wasn't for Amia I'd never have met Galenson, Frey, Tordek & Mishy Moo, four of my best friends on here and four people who I'll stay in contact with long after we've all left.

I've made many other friends here also, so to the people I haven't listed, I'm sorry.. just naming you all would take forever.

That's probably the best compliment I can give Amia. When I decide I'd rather sacrifice little things like sleep and food so I can continue having fun with some good friends.

Amia's where I can retreat to after a bad day.
Being shy and reserved in RL (not when I'm with close friends though, who are a few hundred kilometres away, sadly), I like being able to step in character with ever-happy Amenia, or ever-confident Jhaelryna and relax.

None-the-less I started playing Amia when I was 14 and I'm 18 now. That says more then a whole page of descriptions. I've made some good mates out of it and some real enemies too.

I totally love that after almost three years on Amia I have:

No OOC friends (other than 3 lines of tell once in a while)
No clique that I call my own
Not one piece of Epic loot that I did not happen upon for a great price at a random merchant
Not one person that I dislike on an OOC level
And most importantly, that there is not one day that I log on to do whatever with a character and I do not run into a completely new player I have never interacted with before.

Other than that, relatively no one knows who I am or could care. Let's face it, all I could ask for in the world of Online RP gaming. Every day is a fresh start.

I love the players, even when you give me a headache. I know there's more to you than what I see in the posts/comments you make, after all.

I also love our DM team. The arseholes, like Tormak and the fluffy kittens like Tranny.

<3 You all. You've given me so much creativity, so much imagination, so much to do. You've given me things to think of when I'm bored, people to aspire to when I'm angry or scared and made me laugh until tears spring to my eyes. We've all seen an incredible amount, even if it was all within virtual imagination. We've all created brilliant characters whom we and others have grown close to, like people we wish we were, people we wish we could be. We've all created stories we wish we could live, wish we could start. All of us, together, have created a new world that won't ever die so long as one of us keeps dreaming. You're all wonderful, players and DMs alike. [/endsoppyrant]

I can't say anything bad about the Amia team. I have met many cool people playing here through out the years. I too left for a year, the standard of RP changed quiet a bit, but for the better in my opinion. It took me quiet a bit of getting used to the standard but it was worth it. I had funny getting there and I continue to have fun now. Amia IS the best server for NWN, no doubt in my mind.

And there is so much going on with events and all, just look at PC notice board, it's realy great.

Thankyou all for being there and making it all enjoyable.

Its all your fault I learned scripting, Dungeons & Dragons and how to be an online gamer over the few years I've been here.

Thankyou Admins, DMs, Devs (me excluded, thanking oneself is fishy) and players alike!

What I appriciate the most about Amia is that still after my favourit server went more or less inactive, there is still a nwn server going strong with dedicated DM's and new players.

True, Amia will never be my home, but it is still a nice place to be on vacation.

I grew up with Amia. My relationship with Amia is almost as long as the one I have with my girlfriend, and longer than the ones I have with some of my best friends. Amia may not have had a decisive influence on the way I turned up in the past three and a half years, but it's certainly been a memorable part of my life for all that time. There's few every-day things that make me happier than getting to work and chat with the DM team, all of which are amazing people to get to know, or getting in-game playerside and role-playing with innocent newbies or the few old-time friends who're still around, like Xordae and Brett.

Besides, I knew next to nothing about NWN mechanics or Forgotten Realms when I started. Now I know more, and that's, by definition, a great thing!
