To summarise what I mean from the poll choices:

An Adaptive player is a player who can easily fit into the role of any class or personality with little notice. You can comfortably join factions or groups of polar opposites and make new friends with all the players involved both ICly and OOCly. The only downside to your adaptability is that you have an urge to create too many characters to satisfy your cravings for variation.

A Conservative player is a player who generally sticks to a select group of friends/RP buddies. You make little or no effort to go beyond that select group unless you have to (for example in a faction where you have to intermingle with others). You could be conservative for a sheer number of reasons: You might not be comfortable with making new RP buddies or your RP cravings might be satisfied by your small group that you don't wish to extend beyond that because there's no need to. The only disadvantage to your conservative nature is that your characters are all extremely similar in some form: it could be their racial type, their personality and how they behave, their choice in weapons/spells or your own playing style.

An On Call player is a player who for some particular reason chooses to only turn up when you need to or if something takes your interest and you wish to check it out. Reasons for this may vary: Your character may be reclusive, you're super conservative beyond the conservative norm or you might just work too much and don't have the time to log in regularly.

A Lone Wanderer player is a player who doesn't seem to fit in with any crowd beyond what you require You drift between groups and factions, staying only till a specific purpose is met before moving on to greener and newer pastures. Your reasons may vary: You could have had a bad experience with a group of players and become disillusioned or you could simply just get bored of the ties holding you to the crowd and move on.

A Number Crunching player is a player who -can- RP but instead prefers the company of summons, the thrill of the epic loot and the ever rising gold pieces stock pile over the current RP trends such as Lesbianism or the Paladin rush season. Your reasons may vary: It's stress relief, you feel driven to overcome the obstacles of epic bosses or you just despise the current trends of RP circulating around through the crowds... or the crowds themselves.

A Hybrid Player is a player who is a mix of any of the above groups. For example you might stick to a group of friends but you crave such variety you're creating and dumping characters left right and centre.

The other option is when you think you don't fit into any of the above categories.

You don't have to justify your answer unless you want to. And to those boobies craving gits, think carefully!

I am most obviously a conservative player. Instead of explaining why, I'll just list my character track record:

Keldorn (october 2005 - june 2006): best buddies with Val'Rok Ironkeg (Tor'dek) and Metalien Sikth (Metalien).

Jack Galenson (March 2006 - present): Best buddies with Metalien Sikth (Metalien), competitive verbal sparring partner with Xal Illphukiir (Selvec Darkon) and beloved foe of Toble Trueheart (Crrusty/Crusty666)

Silith (December 2007 - July 2008): Best buddies with Tadeyana -War Cleric- (Crrusty/Crusty666)

Aristos Etuul (January 2008 - January 2009): Brothers with Arturus Etuul (Metalien)

Grimgor (January 2009 - present): Gebz (Crusty/Crusty666) and Arg'Tarn (Selvec Darkon) are/were his lackeys. He's on good terms with Tor'dek (Tor'dek), Kroann (Selvec Darkon) and Oskar (Metalien) Bloodbeard.

The only exception to this was my character Tarlyn "smasher" Lle'isgar who was a bit more adaptive.

Personally I'm a bit of a conservative.

The only thing that makes me an oddball, is that my "little group" is mostly aussies, while I'm american. So I try to find others to include into the group in my own time zone, albeit subtly.

Aside from that, all of my characters are very similar due to my prefered playing style. But the main good thing is that with the "select group", you get to know one anothers play-style and basic thought pattern, so you have less guess work. And that the people I usually play with have some ideas that intermingle with my own.

Also; Crusty would be in my group aswell Gale, Hah.

I am probably a Numbercrunching Adapter, because I dislike the connotation that a Number Cruncher cannot enjoy the incredibly necessary RP circles.

I guess I mostly fit (with many exceptions) the Lone Wanderer. I like to Roam. If there's a secret area, I -have- to find it. If there's a quest I havent' done, I -must- do it. If there's a new area I've not seen, I MUST explore it! Its probably why I spent so long on one particular server with over 2000 areas...its also probably why I spend a lot of time on B.

The downside to this of course is, I'd prefer to go to an area not often explored or used, rather than going to easy areas/high xp (e.g., Dark Spires, etc). I'd rather go solo an area not often visited than explore tried and tested (read boring) areas to farm xp.

For the same reason, I prefer factions that allow a degree of independence and free thought. Usually, but not always, these are secretive factions who operate in small cells (2 to 4 people in each cell).

High risk/high gain areas where you've got a good chance of dying are my thing.

I chose Hybrid, prefer hunting with Summons rather than in a party, i alot of the time keep to a group of people i RP with, but extend it beyond that at times, also drifting between groups, but only sometimes.

Hybrid all the way. I do a little of each of the options. I can RP into most any class (save paladin, dwarven defender and CoT), I have characters that are "on call", meaning that I only play them if I'm asked to or if there's a real need for them and I'm a little bit of a number cruncher... when I think of a character, the first thing I think is build, then I think of personality.

So...... hybrid.

well.. because one account was making me cry when I went through the character unarciver I have made mny accounts with a few toons in, but I do sort of have an excessive amout of characters and all with different personality traits with some cross overs refining them and so on

Keri outgoing greedy little wench who affects men in percuiliar ways. and as of late has taken to fighting with her inner self trying to decide whats she's gonna do because of certian situations, and often goes out by herslf to picknicks (boss fighting)and is actually my alter ego, proven point

Inrae'tana the icly and slightly greedy little wench, totally egotisitcal and self assured in her ability it is just her faith that worries her

Rith'aralia very lonly and quite quite palidin who does what she does for what she percieves as a greater good, and will always help out a friend no matter the cost, and often goes out by herslf to challange monsters

Marinah, Outgoing disgusting and very pushy, has her girly moments as much as a practical transexual could have girly moments, flirtatious

I think these are my mains at the moment, but I always have my others what I swap to.
But I would have to say hybred I do stick around the same characters unless on Keri, because Keri will introduce herself to anyone.. and often runs out the doors of the temple screaming "Hello Cordor!"

Fellow player Dan161 / you_can't_forget_about_Dan161 would be classed as adaptive.

Atleast 60 characters and none over level 20 proves it.

As boobies typically come in pairs, you have to be a faction of two, unless circumstances have required you to lose one of the two.

Same here. I have a really solid group of people I RP with generally, but I try to be encouraging to other players and branch out when the opportunity arises.

With some I wander, some are more social, some are hermits, some make friends quick, some make more enemies,...

I would say... I'm probably a Hybrid with a leaning toward adaptive. Though, I do find I sometimes start leaning toward Conservative. I try to check myself when I do because even though I love RPing and playing with all the regulars I play with, I like to try and find new people to RP with too. Of note, even though I do hunt alone a lot of times, I don't do it very often. I'm one of those people who hunts maybe 4 times a month, if that, on a typical basis. I guess I'm the Anti-Number Cruncher?

I like finding new groups of people who are great RPers. Unfortunately, for me, sometimes that means running into a lot of the really old school people, even older than my time, who are very conservative and don't easily let you in to their circle of RP. I'm not saying that they're jerks, arses, or mean or anything like that, because, truth be told, I find that I've been that way myself sometimes in the circles I run with. For me, it's something I've done subconsciously, not intently. But hey, it's a game, people have the right to play with who they want and not bother much with the rest of the player base if they want. But again, I like to open doors and find new people, places, and things to do. Thats just my style. ::shrug::

I'm a numbercrunching "On Call" Adaptive.

Some of my characters throughout the years have been Semli (autistic wizard dwarf, CN), Rael Zhorn (Paladin, LG), Darthion Illys (Zealot Banite, NE), Jean Claude Francios de Lafayette ("Rubbing" thievering elf with french accent, CE) etc etc etc.

I love to work out builds, I feel comfortable RP'ing any class, any type of character, any alignment, and I have absolutely no avaible time to do any of it.

Hooray.

Conservative, I usually stick to RP groups of organized factions mainly Kohlingen and in between Ultirinnan and now a little Winya. All my PCS I created in between were never played for long.

Other. You don't have a social player option. I have started a few characters here now, but those were to get a feel for the place. Now I have settled into a main character, I think the draw for me is to interact with others in whatever circumstance I happen to meet them.

The primary object of my playing this game is to enjoy it. Whether through advancing Poddli, having her grow as a personality and relay her story, meeting new friends or old ones made already, the simple truth is it's gotta be fun for me and fun for the people around me. Aside from consistency of background and character, all other considerations are secondary.

I guess I'm somewhere between an adaptive and a conservative. Which sounds like opposites, but I guess to explain it, adaptive is what I strive for. I try to include as many people as I can in my roleplay, and in turn, be open to other people's storylines, and helping support them along. On the other hand, sometimes I'm just burnt out, and just want to roleplay with the people I feel comfortable with, but not to the point of ignoring other players.

Adaptive I'd guess. Too many characters, too many potentially fun things to do, and too little time to do them all. :(

Adaptive, I think.

Hybrid.

On Call mixed with a bit of Conservative and good dose of Adaptive, and so we got the Hellscourge cake, just don't let it to long in the oven or it will get burned.

There are times when I skip out some playtime and do something else and then return later.

I'm reckoning, ummm... any of the above? Been all at one stage. Most recently I'd have to say I'm an adaptive, conservative hybrid player? >_<; Choose for me.

Definitely Adaptive. No question there. I get along with just about anybody, and have been involved with so many factions it's not even funny. Not all at once, but there have been overlapping instances.

Monolith, Winya, Grove, Qirlan (Yes, I gave him his own group for a reason... >.>), Defenders, Shadowflames, Eilistraeens, Shadowscape, Flight, Banites... Probably a few more, in all my time on Amia. And I've gone through so many characters I can't possibly name them all.

Edit: ...I put the wrong one at first. *cough*

I'm mostly Lone Wanderer, more because I find I have a hard time finding/starting/joining people RPing.
