Might seem an odd question to ask.. But say one would cast "Stone o Flesh" on a stone, rock or pebble would the stone object turn to "flesh"? (i.e. organic material/living being/skin)

...Ew.

The description of the spell says that it removes petrification, so I would imagine not.

Yea, I looked at the description too, but I decided to take it as an application of the spell, not necessarily the only thing it does. I was hoping to get more insight here.

just looked in my Player's Handbook (3rd Ed.)

"The spell also can convert a mass of stone into a fleshy substance. Such flesh is inert and lacking a vital life force unless a life force or magical energy is available."

Turn it into a flesh golem.. That's the next sentence in the spell description. And is where flesh golems come from.

Darn, I was about o quote the PHB.
So yeah, you can turn rock into organic material ... and then use it to fertilise your crops! So if you have big rocks in your way, you need a mgae, not someone to dig it up.

You can actually turn stone into flesh in this manner. It's unliving flesh and if you tried to eat it, though I dunno why you would want to, it would be essentially tasteless. Of course, whether or not you can use it in this manner on Amia is a different story. D: I'm already getting weird images of misuse!

Had someone do this in a PnP campaign in order to cut through it and get to the other side of a wall.

If you cast Stone to Flesh on someone with "Stoneskin", would it cancel out the effect? (Both in D&D PnP as well as NWN/Amia)

Stone to Flesh wrote:
Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target: One petrified creature or a cylinder of stone from 1 ft. to 3 ft. in diameter and up to 10 ft. long
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (object); see text
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell restores a petrified creature to its normal state, restoring life and goods. The creature must make a DC 15 Fortitude save to survive the process. Any petrified creature, regardless of size, can be restored.

The spell also can convert a mass of stone into a fleshy substance. Such flesh is inert and lacking a vital life force unless a life force or magical energy is available. (For example, this spell would turn a stone golem into a flesh golem, but an ordinary statue would become a corpse.) You can affect an object that fits within a cylinder from 1 foot to 3 feet in diameter and up to 10 feet long or a cylinder of up to those dimensions in a larger mass of stone.
Material Component

A pinch of earth and a drop of blood.

And there you have it! If you ever get hungry as a wizard turn some of the nearby rocks to flesh and toast'n'eat'em.

Never been interested in such matters before, but do trees have any degree of sentience in FR? In the sense of memory and being able to communicate? It would be interesting to cast Stone to Flesh on a piece of petrified wood and then talk to (aka hug) the tree for long lost Lore related to an area.

Druids have a spell to speak with plants, so yeah. It's a fantasy game. Some forests are sleeping, others are more lively, some are malicious and others friendly. Doesn't mean there are rules or detailed lore on what kind of thoughts trees have. It's one of those mysteries you shouldn't know too much about. :P
