My least favorite class combination of all time is Bard/PM/RDD. You can argue that the lore works for Druid/Monk/Shifters, but there is exactly one way lore might work for Bard/PM/RDD, and I've never seen it once in Amia's history.

Carter, how about a lore master who worships Falazure?

Possible, but generally a Lore Master would be more devoted to the lore itself than fanatically attempting to become an undead dragon.
Plus, I have never once seen that, either, as an attempt. It's always "Dracolich Disciple" which does not exist anywhere. It's also nearly always just an excuse built around using the most powerful PvP build someone can think of so they can kill people all the time.

In order to be a 'disciple' of a particular flavor of dragon, you need to have some sort of lineage from that critter. Dracoliches are tasteless (in every sense, except for maybe rotten), and they aren't capable of breeding, hence they have no material or legacy to pass on, genetically, so a person can't -be- dracolich-blooded. My two cents on it, anyway.
In short, Dracolich Disciple simply -can't- be.

I'm suprised that Shifter isn't on that poll... I imagine we're pretty hated, But we will rise above those who seek to drag us down! We shall shun those who are jealous of being able to come what could be described as an octopus with legs!
Ehem, anyway. I can't stand shifters who take monk levels... They're an abomination.
P.S There's no Bewbs option on the poll... You lost my vote

to me the worst things are those that don't rp their classes and take it just for power building things. As well as things that generally do not make cannon sense, I try to stick close to cannon. hence why I dislike druid/monks and bard/rdd/PMs.
Xavi: actually lesbians exist in the realms. You really should read some of Ed's repelies in candlekeep. The FR world is alot more open about sexuality then you might think, just read what the replies on candlekeep and you will know. But alot of it isn't in much published material due to codes of ethics, but it exists in Ed's realms which mean it exists cannonly as he did create the FR world.

I just love you people who bash RDD players, especially taking into account the heat they come under when they're actually doing the whole "I iz dragunz n' eet ur babeez lulz!"

I don't have a problem with the RDD class personally, I don't like things that make no sense canonically, there are dragons and dragon followers in the realms cannon. as for the class it self, what annoys me is people not playing to their bloodline of dragon type, ie having traits similar to what dragon their ancestors were.

It's not the folks who actually RP their classes and do a bit of lore-digging that bother me, Dakotean... It's the people who pretty much embody 'Ar'di'deeh' or whomever, in the Triumvir. It's things like the 'Dracolich Disciple' that irk me.

Quite what Sakkran said. If you take RDD and play a Red Dragon Disciple, learn about Reds, and act like a Red. White? Act White. Copper? Act Copper. It's a pretty straight-forward class to play, but for some reason people on Amia tend to screw it up. When folks are just using it to be a powerbuild, I don't like it. I have no idea why the strength exploit isn't punished.

Oh I agree with Dracolich Disciples, since.. Y'know, non-existant and all.
And my remark wasn't meant as a jab at anyone in particular, it just gets old to look at the same ol' tired remarks about poorly RP'd RDDs.

That. That's why I suggested moving the strength benefit for RDDs to higher levels, although people will still use it to powerbuild.

10/10 PM/RDD offer no value to the server in an RP sense therefore i surmise the players of these abortions offer no value to the server, therefore they are valueless and faceless commodities for me to practice PvPly so i can better equip myself for dealing with the Manor.
I get more RP value out of the cart from bendir to cordor.

I seriously don't get the point of people hating (R)DDs. People usually claim that (R)DDs should act accordingly to their draconic heritage: arrogant, "baby eaters" (when evil), cunning (depending on the dragon kind).
However, people still bash and hate those players that do just that...
Serioualy, people... decide?

Just like Uce said, this thread to me is sounding more like butthurtness because you (in general, not the OP) lost in PvP against said class.
Besides, hardly good things come out from this kind of thread and it's just another way for people to load their guns and use all your bullets, in a veiled way because you cannot do it or are afraid to do it openly, against that particular player you hate.

FabricatedSky wrote: Well, I voted for Pale Master, funnily enough. I'd usually go for RDD, but, I quite like the class - it's usually whatever comes after that, that irritates me. However, with PMs, I've very rarely encountered someone play one. (However, I could be wrong in saying this, although I havent seen many Necromantic Mages lately, unless they're right under my nose and I'm missing them.)
As much as it was kind of nice to make another class for the Mages to go into when they choose Necromancy as a school, who actually uses them? The only interesting thing about them, in my own opinion, would have to be the bone arm... But even that I have yet to see being RPed to some extent. There was a character who used the arm once, but, that was a very long time ago and I can't remember the name all too well... But, that was interesting. I havent seen anything like it since.
Due to that, I kind of see it as pointless and probably will continue to do so until I see one that's RPed. I would have to think that my second most disliked class would definately be Harper Scout, as, unless you're willing to use levels and RP them, they don't really do much.
But there's my two pence.
Obviously you've never met Frey Asaid'De Majere.
He's a PM of some note.

Well, maybe you don't, but I do! SDs are sooo cool if they're on your side.
I lose in PVP to everyone, Dahlya, so my complaint has nothing to do with that! RDDs are just so common that I want to shoot them all. Like, seriously, Amia has more dragon-people than Eilistraeen drow at this rate. (Not that I hate either of them or anyone who plays them, there's just a lot.)

the second one, they want to murder you IC, and thats great, you should be happy you are RPing at least somewhat decently

No, I didn't miss the point.
Both happened in both IC and OOC levels. You would know if you were there.

Some one plays an arrogant RDD and another character tries to get in their face... being an arrogant RDD they smack them down. The other player then feels butthurt about being beat in PVP and decides it must of been some one playing RDD just to be "Super GRRR-Manly in PVP" and those they hate the RDD OOCly...

agreed, that if they want to murder you OOC for the second one, then they are the ones who are eating the lame cakes.
POI: direct quotes cannot be putting words in mouths. can they be out of context? sure. but not the former.

Speaking in just class terms - Shadow Dancer. They are only really good for 1v1.
SDs that have decent damage (Sneak attack or Dev Crit) spam HiPS at the slightest threat. No consideration on other party members. Other SDs with no damage at all are just a pain to party with.
Finally, there's very little way to consistently counter an SD for non detecters and non casters. Even when ambushing one SD, it will likely fail.
Where other classes can be ambushed and killed within 1 round, an SD can just walk away. HiPS 100 times in a round? No problem.

I've only once been beaten by an RDD and that was by Eir in the name of RP. Eir is one of my favourite characters on Amia.
My issue is 4 RDD and 10PM/10RDD/10 Bard and People who play DD's with no fundamental lore knowledge except for what they got from the Forgotten Realms wiki. 4 RDD is cheap. My one wish is that none of the STR bonus became active til level 9 when you get your wings. However as has been stated time and again this is too much of an issue for the DM's to handle given just how many people abuse the class.
So i learn to deal with it.
However it wont stop me bitching the class in bitching topics whose main purpose is to bitch about specific classes.
Excuse me i have to get my wool, horns and cloven hooves out of the dryer now as i'm off to eat grass with my fellow Ovis aries.

Harper Scouts Rock!
Shadow Dancers who play the actual role, rock!
why aren't Shifters on the poll?
I think we're coming to a conclusion here:
ROLEPLAY YOUR CLASSES. ALL OF THEM!
That, sums it up no?

That, sums it up no?
For the most part, I agree. But sometimes, people use classes to represent an aspect of their characters personality or in place of a class from PnP.

Which is still RPing their class, just in a different manner.

Shameless repost and edit of my own schtick:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've sometimes been tempted to make a character that actually roleplays what 95% of melee Palemaster/RDDs do OOCly.
"Yeah, I started off as a skald, y'know, bit of magic, bit of song, plenty of swordplay, the one day I saw this skinny old geezer in a robe get knifed right in the throat by a bandit that had nipped up behind him. Doddery git that he was, he barely even flinched! I know my around good knifework, believe you me, and that bandit had the blade right into his voicebox, just as slick as you like.
I said to myself "I gotta learn how he did that, that'd be brilliant in a scrap" and after he turned the bandit into a little puddle of burnt grease, I got talking to him and he sent me in the direction of Tarkuul.
So, I spent a fair bit of time in the library and laboratories there, and I gotta tell you, it's a bit grim what you need to do; chopping up dead blokes and grafting chunks onto you. But, there's backstabbers everywhere and bloody great lads with the muscle to shove a sword right through your breastplate and come sticking out the other side, so sod it, I wanted some of that Deathless Mastery, so the Tarkuul books called it, and I'd do whatever it takes to get it.
I didn't really want to rush into it, as you might expect. While I was in among them books I found another little snippet I liked the sound of a bit more. Turns out those big bastards with the scales and wings and such that you see cuddling in the rain in Cordor square got it when their grandpa was buggered by a dragon or somesuch, but the juicy bit is that all of us skalds probably got drop of it somewhere too. So I went back 'ome to see me Nan and asked her about her Nan and it turns out there's an old rumour of a Red what took a fancy to one of us, back in the day.
That was a damn sight more easy to swallow than the malarkey with the dead fellas; all I had to do was get into a dragony frame of mind, say a few prayers, that kind of thing. Soon as you know it, I'm eatin' like a bloody horse, assuming horses have a taste for extra-rare lamb and undercooked chicken. Started biting my tongue all the time, mind. Bit of extra canine going on, which I could without, frankly, but I kick like a mule, so call it a trade.
Had to get all my armour refitted, the amount of beef I'd been putting on. Got hellish funny looks from the blacksmith when he was lookin at my skin up close. Said he could see scales on it, but I just smiled at him and told him not to ask. He shut up right quick after that.
So that was all lovely, and I was a good strong fella in a barney, but that ain't much use when there's a sword stick out your eye socket, so time came as I had to stick my chin out and get tore into the undead stuff.
Then I stepped it up a lot, and I got more and more leathery around the chops, which were already looking a bit girzzly. And then the books said I had to hack my whole bloody arm off. I looked all over the library to see if I could take a finger, or even a leg instead, but it's gotta be the arm, and it's gotta be the whole thing. Horrible, really. I can still feel my old arm itching from time to time, but scratching the new one does bugger all.
Getting all bony and leathery certainly helped in the battle department, but I was getting a little slow on my feet, so I went back to the skalding when I was almost done, to sharpen up my footwork, see?
Anyway, when I was almost all trained, and a couple of days after I'd done some heavy grafting work in the lab, my heart stopped. At first I was thinking, "Bloody hell, I'm only twenty-seven, what's all this?" but when I didn't keel over, I reckoned I must have got that Mastery thing right. Heart started back up again after an hour or so, mind. Still stops by itself every so often, which feels bloody strange but it doesn't slow me down much.
Not been so lucky with the ladies lately, sad to say. I can't say I'm surprised; between the scales on me dry old skin and the big chunks of bone in my gob as much as on my noggin, and that arm that'll kill you if you touch it wrong, I'm not too pretty any more.
And between you and me? It costs me a fortune in aftershave because, frankly, I smell terrible these days. "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nah, just kidding. I'll type like a spaz and think I'm awesome because I can kill unbuffed Druids, then hurl a hissyfit when I lose.

My thoughts, keep your rude, unneccessary comments to yourself. I was asking for thoughts on the poll and the question, it was not an invitation to be an arse. Create a proper poll? Pfft, go learn some proper manners.

I have. Sort of goes hand in glove with the whole Sharess thing, y'know. Actually, Eilistraee too.
